  1. Here's our wedding video highlight! The day was captured by now our favorite cinematographer Visual Masterpiece. They were always there but never interfering. We had the day exactly how we wanted it. We still couldn’t believe we are lucky enough to have them telling this most heart felt story. The beautiful venue for our wedding was Grand Wailea in Maui. Our wedding planner Daisy was most accommodating. She made it possible and easy to plan our big day remotely considering it was our first time visiting Maui. Food was amazing, and the services made us feel like King and Queen. Our guests couldn't stop talking about this amazing location. Best wishes to all the brides! Cher
  2. What about Maui? We just got married there a month and half ago. Our guests loved the location. We loved the location. The weather was perfect! Everyone was happy there and no worries about crime at all. Here's our wedding video shot at Grand Wailea Maui by Visual Masterpiece. Hopefully it'll help with your decision. No matter where you end you choosing, I am sure it'll be a fantastic day, and the most beautiful memory for you and your lucky man. Best wishes and Big congrats! Cher
  3. I just got married at Grand Wailea Feb, 2012. It was a dream location for us. It was our first time visiting Maui, and planning everything from a distance was for sure a concern at the beginning. Our wedding coordinator at Grand Wailea made it such a smooth and easy process for us. The staff were very accommodating and attentive, and the ground is not crowded at all which made photo taking a breeze. The location is ideal for us because majority of our guests stayed nearby the location (tons options to choose from), some of them even walked to the event. The food was referred to as "best lobster I had ever have" by most of our guests. I am allergic to alcohol, and the variety of mocktail was incredible. They made all the tropical combinations I could imagine. The sunset was to die for as well. We had our reception outdoor and the 10 O'clock noise bylaw had to be honoured. We were worried about that before, but Maui air somehow took care of the concern. Everyone seem to get up so early to enjoy the sun and the beach, and it was a struggle for us and our guests to stay energetic much later. 10pm shut down was actually perfect, to our surprise. If you are determined to party pass 10pm, I believe you'll be able to with an indoor location. Here's our wedding video highlight for your reference. Best luck to your hunting of the perfect location.
  4. Have you chosen the location yet? We recently (Feb) got married in Maui (Grand Wailea) which is at the south side of Maui. Having heard from our guests who stayed at north and west sides. It was sunny all the time at south side while there were short showers from time to time at north and west. south side is definitely the choice for reliable weather conditions. Also, we were going to have a beach wedding as well, but I believe there is state restriction on # of people for a wedding right on the beach. My husband planned the whole thing and I seem to recall him saying if we are having more than 20 people, we can't do it on the beach. We stayed with majority of our guests in the same resort (Mana Kai Maui), which is right on South Kihei Rd. It's right on the beach (the beach was voted best beach by the locals for 20 years in the row). The rate is reasonable as well. You can book directly from the resort, or there are lots of privately owned unites also offering great rates. Good luck on your big day! It'll be amazing for sure. Cher
  5. Thank you for the insights! I bet it was a fantastic day.
  6. Here's the video highlight of our wedding. We got married on Feb 18, 2012. It was the most beautiful and joyful day of our lives. Daisy, our wedding coordinator, at Grand Wailea Resort made our day stress-free with months preparation from a distance. Our cinematographer, Visual Masterpiece, not only captured every precious moments of the day for us, they tell such a heart-felt story. I wish every couple's big day is as splendid as ours. Cher
  7. All of our photos were taken by our friends and families with their phones and cameras. We find it a better way to capture our most precious memory with cinematography. It turned out beyond our expectation! Visual Masterpiece was a dream team to have on our big day. See it for yourself! http://vivacova.com/Blog/2012/03/tom-cher-got-mauid/
  8. At first I hesitated entertaining a destination wedding, especially with a location I've never visited before. What to expect? How do I get my dress there? Will my guests travel that far? The question went on and on. Now everything is said and done and I am all married and happy. I totally recommend destination wedding for all the brides to be. It was also the best vacation we've ever had! I have the wedding video and other details on my journal here http://vivacova.com/Blog/2012/03/tom-cher-got-mauid/ Tell us what's your favourite part!
