  1. Does anybody know the tipping standards at an all-inclusive resort? My fiance has never been to Mexico or any all-inclusive resort, but heard that he should take $500 just for tips for the week. Does that sound a little extensive? Also, does anyone know if you can use your own plastic tumblers with lids at the pool? Thanks!

  3. Would you please send me the email address for Juan as well? The preferred Photographer for Playacar Palace is almost $900 for only 2 hours! I think that's a little too pricey, especially considering you can get a Photographer ALL DAY here for $1500! Any recommendations and emails would be great
  4. So great to hear that you had a great time! We have our wedding there on the beach in February! Would you mind sending me pics?
  5. Hi! I'm getting married at Playacar Palace in Playa del Carmen Mexico in February and am looking for some Welcome First Aid bags/gifts, also maybe some fans.. Also for my at home reception, I am on the search for Egglplant/Plum colored Satin heels! Thanks
  6. It sounds like we are doing the EXACT SAME THING! We are getting married at PP at 4pm in February, and we are doing the complimentary package. I wasn't planning on doing any add-ons since we are having an at home reception which costs a bundle. So we figured we'd hire a photographer out there to take pictures and then take advantage of the dinner reservations in the complimentary package at the Italian place. We also thought that we could hang out at the resort bar or head to 5th Ave, not sure!
  7. I too am getting married at Playacar! February of 2013 and doing the symbolic ceremony to avoid the hassle! Just not sure if its best to do it before or after Mexico!
  8. Hi and congrats! Who did you end up using? I am getting married at PP in February and would love to hear about your experience and any advice you might have! Thanks, Lindsey
  9. Hi Beth, How was your wedding? Congratulations! I am getting married there in February and would LOVE to hear about your experience and any advice you might have! Thanks, Lindsey
  10. I actually went thru destinationweddings.com with Beverly Tanner who is just so great and I would recommend her to anyone! She books the reservations and gets all information and quotes for any guests that might want to go. She also gets you in touch with the Coordinator at the resort!
  11. I am absolutely obsessed with your DW pictures! Kristyn you were beautiful and absolutely glowing! Going off of Jessica's question as to why it's the best complimentary package - couple questions, did you supply the chair sashes and flowers for the complimentary ceremony? Did you do the symbolic or regular ceremony? And last but not least (I think), where did you guys have your reception dinner at? It looks like you guys opted for the party reception afterwards as well which looks like a blast! In an effort to save money though, I think we are going to just do the complimentary symbolic ceremony followed by the complimentary dinner and then maybe head to 5th Ave or something for dancing. But suggestions are more than welcome! Thanks and congrats! Lindsey
  12. I am so glad to hear all of this positive feedback about Playacar! I also just booked my wedding for February of 2013 Staying for 6 nights in a Honeymoon Suite, doing the Complimentary Wedding package on a Saturday at 4pm. I would LOVE to see everyone's pictures! Was it windy, was it very humid? Has anyone actually used the Complimentary Package without really adding anything on? I am planning a traditional reception at home, so I just figured we would get married on the beach and then maybe hit up a restaurant and bar after, rather than an additional reception. Any feedback, opinions, advice and pictures would be so very appreciated And congrats to you that just got married!!!
  13. Hey ladies! I just scheduled my wedding at the Playacar Palace for February of 2013 and couldn't be more excited! We have the Honeymoon Suite for 7 nights and can't seem to find any pictures of what the room looks like, anyone care to share what they might have? I'd really appreciate it! Hoping to get some advice on a couple things: 1) Would anyone recommend actually getting married there as opposed to getting married at home beforehand and then having the Symbolic ceremony at PP? It sounds like such a hassle with the paperwork, blood test, etc. 2) We are having the Complimentary Wedding and weren't really planning on jazzing it up at all (i.e bringing our own decorations, center pieces, etc.). Originally it was just going to be us 2 with no guests, but we did decide to extend an invite to those that want to attend and see us exchange vows. HOWEVER, we will be hosting a traditional reception at home so we are not planning one in Mexico as we cannot afford to do both. For those that have already had their wedding at PP, was the complimentary wedding nice? Was the cake and champagne offered enough for the guests? Or should I really consider getting some add-ons? 3) Would anyone recommend the salon at the resort? I was thinking of using the resort credits to get my hair did for the ceremony Or maybe a photographer instead? I've been to Cancun and Cabo, but never Riviera Maya and I've never stayed at a Palace resort either. Nor have I ever attended a destination wedding to know what to expect, so any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!
