Hi Nursebrooke! I am getting married at RPLA on May 10, 2013. I'm having a hard time finding information and reviews as well. I did get photo packages options and pricing available from the on-site vendor, Adventure Photos. Here is a sample of their work...if you provide me with an email address I can send you the price list. I'm a newbie too!!! We just booked our wedding date for May 10, 2013. We decided on the RIU Las Amercias because the price is pretty reasonable and we wanted our friends and family to come. Some of are guest have said they'll come if we can keep the expenses under $1,000.00 per person for 3 or 4 nights. I think that limited our choices. You can search for DIY ideas on here, but I found it easier to go to Pinterest and search for wedding (Save the date, programs, or anything else to do with a wedding) ideas. A lot of the pics are from this site and it'll redirect you back to here.. If you find out any ideas or tricks-of-the-trade please feel free to share them with me.

Hi! I originally wanted to get married at the RIU in Riviera Maya until I found out how long the bus ride is. My fiance and I went to Jamaica earlier this year and we had about an 1 hour ride to the hotel and was MISERABLE!!! If I hated the distance then I'm sure my guests would hate it too. We decided to switch our wedding to RIU Palace Las Americas. Let me know when what you decide. Good luck! Christina

I am getting ready to reserve my wedding date at Las Americas. I still have to figure out what's the additional charges. Obviously, the photography is not included in the price, but what else is there an additional charge for. I'm planing on going with the Royal Package, that's the one for $1660, and I'm not sure what type of decorations that includes. I guess I have to ask the WC that. I am getting nervous and afraid of the additional costs of the wedding. Aghhhh!
