Yasmina told me it was $250 to decorate that! Isn't that crazy! So I asked her to clarify, since the white fabric appears in all of the promotional pictures on the Dreams websites and brochures, and she said that was free. But she told me that even if I brought my own fabric, they'd charge me to put it up... FYI, I don't want you to get stuck with any surprise charges... we are just sticking with white and I bought colored chair sashes on Amazon that Yasmina did say they'd affix to the chairs for free, and I am bringing my own pom-pom/kissing balls to decorate the area. Let me know if they told you they wouldn't charge you!

Hi! We are getting married this Monday. We are doing the reception on the beach... no biggie, we just "bought" the iPod DJ for an hour, and we're bringing an Bose/iHome-type of device down to play our iPod playlists afterward. There is a bar on the beach w/ rope swings, and there's always Desires lounge. My group is 24 people, so I didn't want to break the bank on a DJ when some of our older crowd will likely not care whether or not "fun" music is played, and the younger guests will have just as much fun either way too since we can play our own music after the DJ packs up! I was thinking of a "technician" for the ceremony also, but I couldn't justify $180 for three or four songs worth of music... I decided to upgrade my cake instead of getting that extra hour Just decide what's important to you or if you'd rather spend that money elsewhere. My wedding planner (Yasmina) said it was fine to stay on the beach in our reception area for the full 3 hours, even though we only paid for 1 hour of DJ (can't justify paying for more, our group is small and we are all too laid back to care ) Good luck!

Hi KatiePerry FYI, I am getting totally JACKED on my '6th room free' because apparently ALL rooms are supposed to be PAID 30 days in advance. I JUST found this out and my wedding is in like 4 weeks... we JUST missed the 'deadline.' It's screwy, because as guests book on their own or thru a TA, the room isn't charged yet. For my guests who booked direct thru the hotel, only a credit card number was taken, and the room price is due upon checkin. I'm trying to throw a fit with Jorge Arelle (the groups guy) right now because their terms and conditions have TOTALLY changed and now they're saying I'd only get a max of 3 nights free anyway, even though I'm staying a week I hope they don't do this to you, or any other bride who was told they'd get their 5th room free! PS with my photog, I said "tough luck, I'm buying a day-pass for a guest who isn't staying at the resort, and if they happen to bring their own camera and take pictures, I don't see a policy against that" and they kind of dropped it, but the principle is the same, they can't really tell you that your "guests" cant take photos and they DO have day-passes 'wedding guests' who aren't at the resort can purchase! Hope that helps, I'm using the photog that comes with my package for "family photos" the week of my wedding.

Hi Brides! I too want the acrylic cups with our logo! The best pricing I have found for a small quantity is from DiscountMugs.com (http://www.discountmugs.com/nc/sports-bottles/2816/16-oz-double-wall-acrylic-tumbler-with-straw.htm). They have several styles and colors, and I think that $3.99 a piece is reasonable for what it is, but that would be too spendy if we had more guests (we only need 25.) We're also ordering coozies, those are only a buck a piece. I haven't found cheaper, please share if you know of a better deal somewhere online! I tried to go through a local printer too but that was going to be much more expensive, since our quantity was so low. Where else have other brides found good "promo" items for their big day?

Hi Everyone! I am not brand new to the blog- I started following it last year when I first confirmed my wedding date and nowt that I'm about 6 weeks out I feel like I have SO MUCH to do We are getting Married March 26th... 5PM on the beach, cocktail hour and reception on the beach. Evangelina is not much help, I just emailed her a spreadsheet with pictures of what I want today, so hopefully there's no room for misunderstanding. I am using a different photographer and am trying to get her to let me use the photography in my package for a trash the dress session the day after, so we'll see what she comes back with. I emailed Evangelina about that and never heard back.
