Thank you for all the lovely compliments ladies! My dress was great on the day of. Still quite warm, but I carried my fan around and that seemed to help! All in all, no regrets. Awesome day and nite! Will post photos and a review when I get my pro pics at the end of the month

Hey, ended up hiring Catherine Farquharson and Nikki Leigh McKean from Toronto to do my photography in Jamaica , and as for DJ , I went with Damane Scott from IRIE JAMS. We leave in 5 days or so!!

She's doing my make up on May 6th! I'll try to post some photos after ... but Ashleigh is right, Rashel's facebook page is VERY helpful.

hey ladies! Im getting married at GP on May 6th 2013. I was lucky enough to visit there May 2012 to check out everything. The restaurants are awesome and the food is better than i expected for the caribean. We loved the italian and asian restaurants the most. It's true - no reservations. First come, first served. Dress code is not super strict. I think guys are fine wiht sandals on, but no tank tops I believe. So tell your guys to bring a few light dress shirts or golf shirts. Thats different for the Mo Bay buffet room though, they are more flexible I believe. Does anyone have tips for me, for my flowers? Are you going wiht what is included in yoru package? Or are you hiring a local vendor? or are you upgrading through the resorts florist? Are you bringing all fake flowers? Any vendors you can recommend? Any help would be much appreciated!!!! Michelle~ ps. The DJ is definitely not $300 for 3 hours. Its much more. pps. Poseidon is a nice place and has a nice view of the ocean. It's long and narrow. The food at lunch didn't impress me all that much compared to the places that are more centrally located at the resort. However, I heard that for your wedding you are allowed to pick your wedding menu from ANY of the restaurant menus that are at the resort. My suggestion - go for italian!

Im trying to source flowers now. Grand Palladium Resort is quoting but taking a while to get back to us. I rec'vd quotes from Jan's Flowers and Tia Floral. Both are expensive. Any other suggestions? or am I pretty much stuck with these options? I need simple white and green centrepieces (maybe 10) and I need some bridesmaid bouquets/boutineers for the guys. Nothing out of the ordinary or decor related. Thank you for any advice you can give me! Feel free to post photos of your own wedding flowers from Grand Palladium. Here's my Tara Keely dress. The sample was in rough shape, so its a bit tattered, but I loved it anyway! They also pinned the chest area, so its not quite exactly how its going to look... Its going to arrive in Feb and I'll alter it then Can't wait I know it's kinda large for a wedding in Jamaica ... but it's all tule at the bottom and I'll be removing a layer of crinoline anyway. PLUS its only one day of my life - I dont mind being a tad warm!! "YoLo" !

OMG! 500 guests?? Well one way to save money is to stop inviting people! LOL I dont know where you're coming from, but I'm flying two photographers in from my home city (Toronto) because I just wanted the opportunity to meet and get to know my photographer before the big day. Chemisty is important to us! There are also some very good photographers in Jamaica.... Dean Clarke , Dwayne Watkins , SAAB Wedding (Michael & Olive) as well as Sun Gold Photography. Hey ladies! I just got back from Grand Palladium Jamaica - went for a pre-wedding visit ! It's a stunning property with amazing people. The food was pretty good too! I'm really happy I went... it TOTALLY put my mind at ease and now I'm even MORE excited that I picked this resort for my destination wedding! I got to see all the ceremony sites and reception areas... so happy with the choices we made after seeing them first hand. There are so many gorgeous places on this resort !!! I also met with the DJ from Irie Jams (Damane) he was awesome too - so we're definitely hiring him. Gotta decide later if I want to upgrade the package to add an MC and some up-lighting on the pillars of the Blue Lagoon. I'm looking into photography now. Our Toronto photographers bailed on us unexpectedly, just before we signed the deal, so now I'm on the hunt again! While I was at the wedding office in JA, I saw a little album from TRUE COLOURS photography. Just googled them and I think I really like their stuff. Have any of you used them? If so, what were your honest opinions of the photos you got? Also - please please please vote for my fiance and I! We only have three more days to vote daily , to help me win the wedding dress of my dreams from Kleinfeld's in NYC !!! Thanks ladies!! The resort is MASSIVE. So I doubt the construction will be noticable at all.

Hey Lindsay... I believe the $20 per person is your ceremony cost. The private reception is about $45 per person. They say this is for staffing and having a private area... I wasnt keen on it either. Check with your wedding planner at GP.

Construction Update: My planners found out construction will be happening beside Sunset Cove (she has yet to confirm dates ) but if you look at the map, you can see that its POSSIBLY not a big deal. Shaecollins: What DJ did you hire and how much are you spending when you include that $300 vendor fee ? Anyone know anything about the resort's referral DJ --- Damane Scott, from Irie Jamz ? Help !~!

I had to send my passport along too. Its normal. AS FOR CONSTRUCTION... I was told construction was going on (still trying to find out the dates) and it is going to be located beside/near SUNSET COVE. See map below... if you have questions, ask your wedding planner to give you more details and PLEASE post the answers here...
