Just got married at the Somerset! We used Quinton Dean for the guitarist, and he was great. Its a really nice touch to have live music for the ceremony and cocktail hour - I would definitely recommend it. Sidenote - I would definitely recommend the Somerset as a venue. Its absolutely stunning and the food was phenomenal! The cost was comparable to other 5 star hotels, but this was the only hotel where I felt our wedding dinner had some privacy. We had dinner one night at the grace bay club - and we essentially sat 5 feet away from a wedding. Not very intimate!

Just an update to pricing... Shenique charged me $300 for hair and makeup for the bride and $250 for each other bridal party person/MOB. Our makeup (except for my moms.. orange lipstick was not so hot on her among other things) was all fabulous. The hair was.. eh.. my bridal party all had plain updos which were fine, but not worth $250. Her personality didn't exactly add anything to the 'getting ready experience' either.

Hi Everyone! I'm getting married at the Somerset in May, but also looked at Gansevoort. When we checked, they were charging us a 'site fee' which i thought was a bit ridiculous considering we were filling a room block. Across the island, we found that getting a room block would get you 20% off of the advertised rates. In May, we were able to get the cheapest rate for Gansevoort for $400. My colors are silver and tiffany blue. I'm super excited and finalizing things now!
