  1. Wow that's incredible!! Well I'm going to upgrade before just in case but that would be wonderful if they upgraded our guests! I've heard apple vacations have good perks... We are through transat : (
  2. I was thinki gof getting a make up lesson at mac or sephora, buying the products used and doing make up myself. For hair i was going to get my hair done at home by my stylist, take a pic and bring to the dr for the resort stylist to copy (hopefully). BUT.... it never occured to me to look for an off site artist/stylist...so I might check out that option too. Sometimes I just feel if you want something done right you have to do it yourself. I def do not have the make up/hair skill caliber I'd like for my wedding but maybe learning its not a bad idea...just in case! Definately get a tral run upon arrival before big day if going with resort! ...
  3. Congratulations on your wedding! You were all upgraded for free? I'm thinking of upgrading through our agent before we go...but its very expensive. I was hoping the upgrade cost would be off set by the free wedding
  4. I wonder how the resort stylists are? I'm nervous about not knwoing the quality until I get there...
  5. no I love colored shoes...our color is yellow. Only having our two daughters as wedding party...jr bridesmaid in yellow and flowergirl in white with yellow sash. Groom in tan suit with yellow tied in somewhere. I found nina yellow shoes but they didn't seem fancy enough, love the kate spade yellow with the bow but it'll be too neon I think. Our yellow is a bright canary yellow. I love all the sparkly shoes (benjamin adams) but I think it doesn't go with outdoor airy feel I'm going for.
  6. Bought my dress at my first appointment to look...it was so easy. Shoes, on the other hand I've been struggling with. My dress is white not off white as shown and my sash is also white. So far I ordered the badgley Mischka Lacie in white but they are too tight...not sure if I should order in a diff size or keep looking. What would you suggest for this dress? Ceremony is in garden gazebo, want heels not flats. Running out of time, need to get shoes so I can get fitted.
  7. This is my dress except mine is white with white sash...cant decide on shoes...any suggestions? I purchased Badgley Mischka Lacie in white but they are too tight...not sure if I should order bigger or look at something else.

  9. It's been little frustrating so far and I haven't even had alot of contact this far such as all the little details. But, I'm sure they are busy and there's always going to be hiccups... They (melia) have been very friendly- I just have found "communication" a bit of a challenge. The whole reason I decided on a destination wedding was for it to be stress free and just about reaching our end goal- getting married lol. So, I'm trying to remember this and not sweat the small stuff. I love the garden gazebo( I fell in love with it when we first got engaged 5 years ago) I've looked at several hotels but kept going back to this one. There are good and bad reviews on every resort... I think a lot of the basis for the reviews has to do with the individuals attitude/expectations. While I do tend to have high expectations, I also just want a stress free memorable wedding with those I love most- I fully expect a few little bumps on the road getting there. Congrats and good luck planning!!! Let me know if you decide on Melia!
  10. I have booked our wedding for Nov at the Melia (garden gazebo location)...our reception will be at the Jellyfish right after. Just wondering if anyone else is there at the same time or close to it...I'd love to hear how your planning is going! I have been planning since the beginning of the year but still have lots to do. I don't even have a final head count yet...sigh. Right now I'm working on oot bags until I have my numbers in. So far we have 30 booked and still some slow pokes that need to get on it. My guess is we will have about 40? Who do you have for a WC? And what has your experience been like so far with them? I understand they are busy and replies can take a bit...I just find it hard to get my questions answered sometimes. ie qualifying for the "free' wedding. I am opting for the "free" wedding because we are doing the reception at Jellyfish(don't want to pay much for just a chair at the ceremony) The has been some confusion as to whether or not we'd qualify. My WC said as long as we booked a certain room category - which we want a royal master 1bdrm, we would qualify. BUT my travel agent thought that we would NOT qualify as we booked as a group with a group rate. I assume most brides do secure a "group rate" and I hardly feel it was a big enough discount to count as a hotel promotion. Does anyone else have any input on this? Between my agent and WC I feel as though I'm talking in circles lol.
