  1. I think having the wedding on a thursday would be a great idea! then your guests would have the weekend to enjoy at your destination if they chose to stay! plus they often give discounts for week day weddings! I chose to arrive thursday, get married saturday, and stay the entire next week. Our resort let us have the discounted price for the entire next week too and the upgraded suite so I was very happy. I wanted to get there as close to my wedding day as possible, I did not want to be harassing the hotel staff and worrying about silly details. I want to think I WONT be that girl...but ya never know lol honestly I think that is kind of a weak quote... maybe contact other resorts and see what they offer, then bring the other quotes back to them and be like can you do better then that? Depending on if you are only inviting family or other friends and relatives I think giving them as much heads up as possible is always best. I think maybe March of this year you could send out the save the dates. btw Congrats on your wedding!
  2. omgosh this will probably sound awful but I still have to send out my STD... I was aiming to have them sent out the begining of feb... nowmy goal is to send them by the end of march. I've had such a hard time getting together all the addresses and people our fams want to invite. My fam is out of town for a month so here I am hunting down their friends to get their address lol. Luckily we are only inviting family and a few family friends so they all pretty much know about it already. So you ladies are already starting to buy things you want for the wedding? My family told me to wait and that I was rushing things in the begining, phew now I dont feel so bad. I wanted to get personalized parasols and a personalized aisle runner I know I need to do that a few months ahead of time so maybe that would be good to get out of the way ..omgosh the more I read the more anxiety I am having lol! ... I guess I should start ordering some of the things I know I want and get to investigating some florists and hairstylists.
  3. I'm so glad I found this thread! I am getting married February 9 2013 at Velas Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta Mexico! I am SOO excited! I can't wait to get married and for the vacay! lol I have my resort and photographer booked, Yay! I am reading some of these posts and starting to feel like I am behind! eek! I was wondering when are you ladies looking into florists, makeup/hair, other details for the wedding?
  4. oops I didn't quote that right hehe... I saw this dress a few pages back... i was wondering does anyone know who the designer is?? I absolutely love it! ...thank you in advance
  5. I will def. check out that website. I'm just having SUCH a hard time choosing, I have found a really gorgeous goldish colored dress... So maybe I"ll go with that instead of the colored one. ... ugh decisions decisons. Thank you for your kind words though
  6. I'm getting married in Mexico, my ceremony starts at 5 pm and we are getting married on a bluff overlooking the ocean. After lots of searching I found a white dress I adore. At the end of March I am going to try it on to see if I still love it in person. But I still can't get the thought of NOT having a white dress out of my head I found a colored dress I AM IN LOVE WITH. The colors are very me. We are having a very small intimate wedding. Only family and close friends of family I have known since I was very young. We are having a dinner after the ceremony then fireworks. We are not having dancing and all that, I just think it would be kind of awkard with like 15 or 20 people there. So we are going to explore downtown puerto vallarta and go dancing there. Also I would kind of like to choose soon because I need to get new ideas for decoration/flowers etc. at first I planned having a white dress and all fuschia accents but if I buy the colored dress I would go more purples etc. (so many decisions for a bride! lol) I would just like to hear from other brides that chose not to wear white on your wedding day, do you regret it? I know in the end it is my decision. But I'm really having a hard time choosing I guess I need to hear if anyone had regrets NOT wearing white or if you wore white and wish you wore a fun dress. I have talked to my family, bless their hearts they say whatever makes me happy. So I have come here for other brides advice. Thanks for listening and thanks for all advice I truly appreciate it. here is my white dress I found... and the colored one...
