For all you ladies who have gotten married a SJG... just wondering if you wore a veil or not? I'm contemplating if I want to wear one for the north side gazebo wedding. I know when I was there last year it was super windy. Just wondering how people who wore one found it to be? Should I just go with a flower? Thanks ladies!

Hi Negritadr, I''m in the same boat, I won't be purchasing my dress until June and my FI keeps giving me more addresses to send STD"s too! lol. We also decided not to do a group price for several different reasons. I know that the resort I'm getting married at the price that they wanted for group was high and everyone could get a better price if they did their own. There is some threads on here that have pros and cons I think it's really up to you! I feel like I'm alittle lost too with the planning as there isn't really a "to do list" for just a destination wedding, which is a lot different then planning a at home wedding!

Thanks MCree!! I have finally gotten the information on our reception from the WC at the hotel so now I can make them! I'm hoping to have all the invites out for June so that will be 6 months! A lot of people have already told us if they are going or can't make it so there are just a few that we will be wondering about mostly!

I'm also a December 2012 Bride! Getting married on 12/17/12 at Sunset Jamaica Grande in Ocho Rios! I send out my STD's last month! We are doing individual bookings instead of group as we believe it will be cheaper in the end as our quotes were so high. So were just waiting for the travel companies. So far we have 15 people that have said they are going! Going to get my dress in June. When is everyone sending out the actual invites? I have seen websites saying different things and wanted to get other peoples actual opinions. Also, keep posting things that you guys are working on, its great to know for ideas! Has anyone found a good "destination to-do list" most of the ones I have found are for "traditional" weddings. Happy Planning

Hey Everyone, My FI and I are getting married this December in Jamaica. I'm trying to think of a gift that I can get him for the wedding day that will also symbolize as a way his mother is with us that day as she passed away when he was 5. His brother received from his wife on their wedding day a necklace locket with a picture of him and his mother. I wanted something personal like this but not the same. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm open to all! Thanks!

Hello Ladies, I was just wondering if anyone had any helpful information on getting married here, booking, and overall any information? I have been to this resort last year and that's when me and my FH decided that we want to get married here! I'm looking at December 2012, trying to get it booked, but my TA is saying I need a booking number to save the date that we requested to get married on. Were not doing a group booking as we don't think we will have more then 10 people going. Also, the pricing for right now is super high for this time since the travel agencies haven't set anything for this time yet. There still working on Summer I guess. If you have any information on booking or specifics with this resort I would love to hear!

Hey Ladies, I'm having a hard time finding STD wording so our potential guests do not feel obligated to attend. We want to send them to people we know won't be able to attend as our wedding day has been moved up to December 2012. Does anyone know of a fun way, like a poem or saying, that I can include on our STD's so no-one feels obligated?

Did anyone end up using them? If so how was their pictures and what was there pricing like?
