  1. Good morning, I had my unlimited events credit applied to my bill at check out. I had requested this through my onsite coordinator (Zaray) and she took care of it. Quite honestly I had read enough compliants about Palace Resorts rebates through this forum that I just wanted it all handled while I was there. I can appreciate how many brides note that everything will be perfect when you get to the resort, but unfortunately I didn't have that type of experience. This forum really prepared me to deal with issues and know what to ask for when at the resort. My onsite coordinator was out on emergency medical leave when I arrived and I reassigned to Zaray. A lot of it felt like I started at square 1 again. Thankfully Zaray was wonderful and I had brought copies of all previous communication. The only fall out I had wedding related was having the wrong mariachi band show up at my reception. By then it was too late to do anything even when the correct one showed up (we had to turn them away as we weren't going to pay twice). Weddings are not perfect and as a bride you just have to be flexible and really prioritize what is important to you and your husband.
  2. LindseyColleen - Zaray is a great coordinator. We ended up with her after our original coordinator was out on emergency medical leave. She was wonderful - quick to respond to emails and phone calls while we were at the resorts. I know she was swamped the week of my wedding, but she made it a point to stop by at all of my private events.
  3. The new club at Moon Palace is great (Noir is the new name, no longer Andromeda) - good music, great set up and a huge screen for video projections. No doubt you'll have fun there. Bar crawling may be a little bit difficult as they bars/restaurants are not too close together and you may end up waiting for quite some time for shuttles between the different sections. The Sunrise lobby bar is right outside of the club and they also have live music later in the evening. The Sky View Lounge is also close to the club and it's a good spot to hang out at. Bar/Club employees were great and went above and beyond to make our visit to their venue a great time. The Sunrise construction is not terrible, but you definitely notice it. The stores in Sunrise are closed so we were directed to the Nizuc gift shops to redeem our resort credit vouchers. Should you be expecting your guests to have resort credits I would urge you to make sure all the reservations made through your group reservation have the promotion enabled as I know I had plenty of problems with that. Also, let your guests know to book spa/golf/tour reservations ahead of time. Availability is terrible once you're on site if you're trying to redeem your resort credit.
  4. I believe the night of the 8th of Nov. is sold out not only at Moon Palace, but also at Beach and Sun Palace. There a couple of conventions going on next week. I have people in my bridal party that waited until the last minute to book their rooms and there is no room for them. They've had to arrange to stay with other bridal party members that did have reservations.
  5. I was told I couldn't change section for my group as they didn't have enough rooms in the other sections to accomodate my group I really hope the hotel is at capacity otherwise I will feel totally lied to! Not too mention that they have yet to confirm where my reception will be held. I keep hearing that everything will be great once I get there, but they make it so much harder on the couple than it really has to be during the last month of planning that I'm almost wishing I had chosen another venue.
  6. Chicksmommy, I am so sorry you're going through all this, but I really appreciate you posting about it. I'm going to contact my coordinator and ask her to move my guests to the Nizuc side. I'm just hoping they are open to it. I hope you have a wonderful wedding and this is just a small blip in the grand scheme of things.
  7. Thank you ladies! I was recently told that Moon Palace was no longer allowing brides to book through PSAV but would still honor contracts signed previoulsy. PSAV said that is not the case and that my coordinator was misinformed. I'm just going to play it safe and go with JSAV.
  8. Hello ladies, I'm also a November bride - 11/9/12. Has anyone had any luck negotiating with the in-house vendors? More specifically Zuniga and JSAV?
  9. Hello! I booked prior to March - where did you happen to see the reference to the full reception being 3-4 hours?
