Thanks for everyone's info regarding photography. Originally, we were going to go with the photographer that comes with the Gold Package (how good/bad can it be?), but after hearing comments about how important photos are (indeed!) we have decided to invest in our photography a bit more and we are going ot hire Adrian Herrera. Sucks that we have to pay the fee of $500 in addition to Adrian's fee itself, but hopefully it will be worth it! Too bad the resort can't reimburse the value of what the included photography would have been... What about music...are you gals having a DJ or just music with a sound system. We are thinking about just bringing our own music and having a sound system rented ($350). And then go to the disco later. Has anyone been or know if the disco is any good? KJ

Holls213 - congrats on your engagement! What an exciting time for you as you begin your planning. My fiance and I spent a lot of time on Trip Advisor looking at the reviews and photos. We also had recommendations from friends as to specific resorts. Although we originally wanted to be married in Jamaica, we settled on Mexico because a friend highly recommended the Excellence resort chain. Although she has been to Excellence Riviera Cancun several times, we chose Excellence Playa Mujeres, as it is very new. We were also considering Secrets Maroma as it looks beautiful! Our travel agent highly recommended the El Dorado Royale as she has had many happy brides who have been married there. I would be happy to provide recommendations of other resorts that we were considering, if you are interested. Thanks, KJ

Hello all you fabulous brides-to-be! Our wedding is planned for February 2012 at Excellence Playa Mujeres. I just found this website and wished I knew about it earlier! We have lots of planning to do including choosing our venue for our wedding (beach or gazebo), bar for cocktail hour, and restaurant for reception/dinner. Also, since we have the Gold Package, which includes services of their in-house photographer (VIP), wondering if anyone has had experience with this company and if so, we welcome feedback. Another question relates to music for reception - should we get a DJ or not. We are thinking of bringing our own music on an Ipod. Not sure... So many questions to answer.
