  1. I had her too. Good luck. She sounded so soothing and wonderful during the planning call. When she gave me the personalized wedding booklet (whatever you call it) a week before my wedding it had the wrong dates, wrong food, wrong everything. DOUBLE TRIPLE CHECK HER
  2. like the bride said, stand your ground and be firm don't let them rip you off. they are all about getting gringo money
  3. Try to avoid DJ JSAV company, they are a ripoff, they don't listen, they make you fill out forms and ignore them (Paradisus Playa del carmen July 6) Dear JSAV, I love how you send out pricing and then give me a quote that is almost double. You have inconsistent pricing. Even though your brochure clearly says one price you tried to give me the runaround. Eventually I got the hotel to step in and get you to give me the price as written. The company representative that met with us the day before the wedding said no worries he'll take care of us on the wedding day. On the day of the wedding, he was there but he was not DJing he hired two buffoons that SPOKE NO ENGLISH. I asked when they were ending it, they had no idea what I said. The company representative asks for a formal list in the way of a form of songs you don't want played (he played them, I HATE cha cha slide, and the similar group songs he played every focking one of these g0dd@mn songs) ahead of time, he asked what first dance song we wanted, he forgot that and played some random song we've never heard before. My husband and I till this day wonder what song we danced to as husband and wife so that we could dance to it again on each anniversary. Have no friggin clue. thanks for stealing that moment from us. How hard is it to find "HOME" by Michael Buble. We told them we are going straight to the first dance after the wedding party enters. Instead dead silence no transition, meanwhile me and husband are standing there looking at each other, loking at him then they cue the random first dance song. AWKWARD silence waiting for them to put that stupid song on! The DJs sucked. THey play the dumbest songs. This is not prom or quincerera!! It's a wedding.Learn class! Why make us fill out forms if you don't bother reading them? YOU suck balls JSAV

  5. Good luck on getting replies. I think nothing is really planned until you are actually down there. They are overwhelmed, overworked, and understaffed. Perla is not on her shyt. We had to go over the same details 3x. The only person I have had success is Pilar. Pray that by the time you arrive that she will still be working there. Otherwise it's a complete stranger planning your wedding from scratch. That's how my wedding was. I had planned it with the Miami office and one of the Wedding office coordinators in Mexico but by the time my date rolled around, NOTHING was planned. I wasted two days prior to my wedding to plan and go over every detail. We had to do a site walk though AGAIN! The DJ sucked. 6. For our honeymoon, we decided to volunteer at a Dog Rescue in Thailand. It's so sad to hear and see the stories about how the rescue can't even trust their workers and the Thai people to care for the animals. They are in charge of over 600 animals, they provide medical help, neutering/spaying services, and room/board for these animals. I've been to Asia, third world countries do not value dogs or cats as pets or treat them like family like we do here. They are treated like parasites and often get abused by tossing hot burning cooking oil on them. I would like to see if anyone would want to donate old towels, collars, etc. Things that your furbaby has out grown or no longer needs. I'm going to lug as much stuff over there as I can. our pets here certainly are lucky than those in Vietnam, China and Thailand. I'm not sure where else to reach out to.
  7. Prefer pick up. These sparklers arrived several days late so needless to say I didn't get to use them for my wedding. Paid 25 I'm in MD/VA/DC area
  8. I would just go to your local courthouse and get it done. That's what I did. I didn't trust their gov't and the use of our "blood" in their tests after reading about another bride on BDW who did the bloodwork, heard nothing back and had to assume it was ok. Seriously what do they do with that blood?
  9. are there any photographers or makeup/hair stylists you would recommend? I am thinking about getting honeymoon pics done Thanks!
  10. If I were you I'd double check. Do they really mean La Palapa the restaurant? They offered me a "palapa" which is a hut essentially (it's acutally one by the pool on La Perla side that sometimes house the cooking demos or the ping pong tables, there's a few) Don't want you to be disappointed.
  11. I was never offered even a look at the bridal suite, had no idea there was a bridal suite. First week of July it was 90s, humid. Not pleasant in a bridal gown trying to take pics, probably picked the wrong dress, should have gone with a simple easy gown. I was sweating and my makeup was about to melt. Gabi Bridge is right by the Gabi Club. To rent that darn thing is 10k just for that club. It's ridiculous but it's pretty. It's also open no windows so it's really hot and there are mosquitos. The hotel is on a mangrove. My guests got bit and so did I. It wasn't too bad but noticeable for sure. The white furniture does "glow" there's some lighting mechanism there. It was UBER annoying to have stupid idiots by the end of the gabi bridge in their swimsuits just stand there during the entire thing and just stare. I hope they get cropped out in the pro pics. In my family and friends pics they were right there. Seriously. GET OUT. NOSY bodies. Or atleast stand in the Gabi Club like the rest of the on lookers? Do you HAVE to stand on the bridge? ugh. Rant over. About 40 mins after my ceremony ended, it poured like crazy luckily everyone was already at cocktail hour indoors. The other option of having cocktail was by the pool under a gazebo, where they typically have ping pong tables. It's not close to the bridge. Quite a walk. Nothing is close to the bridge except Gabi Beach club.
  12. I was worried about the company so I placed two separate orders one for Flores Riviera for my centerpieces and the bridesmaid bouquets/groomsmen boutonnieres/flower petals for tossing through Cherry Blossom. They turned out great. The bridesmaid bouquet were kind of overpriced for a small plain bouquet but they were still a lot cheaper than buying them through Paradisus' event company. Cherry Blossom matched my flowers exactly like the pictures I gave them. However Flores Riviera did not. I sent them one of their own pictures of a certain flower, instead I got yellow roses with red/orange trim. It was close enough but that's not what they promised. They had a name for the one I ordered and said they definitely had that in stock as opposed to the roses I got. Overall they were pretty and they fulfilled the request.
  13. Nope. NOT EVEN FOR A DAY but we expected it since we have people flying from all over just to see us. So it was fine but definitely not relaxing at all. I want another vacation just to recoop
  14. Not sure if anyone has found a photographer but Samuel Luna was a joy to work with. Will write up a review today. He made everyone feel at ease and we had so much fun taking pictures. I love how he captures the moment instead of just doing the usual poses. He made it a memorable experience for us.
