Hello! Thank you for that... I was so worried about what to do during that time, but I guess we will be taking pictures for an hour or two anyway... and it will give the guests a chance to freshen up. I feel so much better:-)

I'm June 9th at 2pm... I was so upset the 4pm slot was taken lol... because the reception is not until 6pm!

My wedding is June 2012... The communication was just fine at first and then it seems they got an entirely new staff and changed the way they did things. This is quite disconcerting -- particularly mid planning. We have 14 rooms booked and will probably have 14 more booked between now and departure, but I can't get a straight answer from anyone. I

Every person I speak to tells me I need to speak to the department that referred me to them. It's ridiculous -- neither me nor my travel agent have been able to get a clear answer after months of asking and speaking to various people:-/ At this point I'm completely frustrated with the resort. I started out with a wedding coordinator and now they are telling me I won't have one (or any other information) until two months before the date. Is anyone else having problems. Any feedback is appreciated.

Hmmm... I was quoted more than $30 too. Maybe I can ask again? It seems like the whole wedding staff has been replaced. Since I haven't discussed it with any of the new wedding staff perhaps they will tell me something different. They won't even give me menus until two months out and I was also told I wouldn't have a WC until that time either. This concerns me as I had planned to send out invitations before that time and if I have a choice in entree I have no idea how that would work unless they did quasi table-side ordering. In any case it takes them even longer to get back with me now. It even takes them weeks to respond to my TA.

I would say Blue Lagoon. That's what I chose. A friend had a private birthday party when we went last October, and the space is ideal for a wedding reception. My second choice would be Poseidon. It's a nice open almost patio-like space right on the beach. It has a much more casual beachy feel... Blue Lagoon is more sleek and refined. I hope this helps.

Canadiangirl, FYI -- I have been in contact with Sandy at Tai Flora. She sent me me several brochures... They give you credit for the items included in your package. For example my package (dendrobium - renewal package) includeds the bride's bouquet and groom's boutonniere, a centerpiece and 2 tropical arrangements. I also need about 8 reception centerpieces, 3 BM bouq, 2 corsages, and 4 additional bouts. I will get "credit" for what's included in my package. They send you a brochure with the available choices -- you get credit for what's included and anything else is extra. They have 164 bouquets to choose from and there is also a plethora of choice for recpetion decor, etc. I can email you the information she sent me if you like (4 pdf docs). Joy

I will have to confirm this, but have been stanning (lurking) in this site and palladium addict for about a month trying to get ideas, and based on what I've read you get a credit for the flowers that are included in your package, and you can upgrade directly through the florist the hotel uses: http://www.taiflora.com/ . I think you will be happy with the space... I chose the dendrobian renewal package. We'll have a civil ceremonly before we leave... It will save us about $800. We'll probably upgrade our flowers. The florist the hotel uses is Tai Flora. I've been reading that it's probably best to go directly through them and mention the credit you get with your package rather than upgrading through the hotel because they try to charge a little bit more than the florist would directly. I may do a few things DIY if I have the time... Joy
