  1. Hey Sarahgn4T, Did you contact Sanctuary about your honeymoon? They claim to be honoring all previous agreements that were already booked. if you were booked already at Sanctuary, then everything should be remaining the same. If you haven't done so, I would contact the hotel directly and see what they can do for you. Given the transition, it seems they're willing to work with the clients that were already booked. Good Luck.
  2. Hi! Yes, the resort is no longer being managed by Secrets. It is now being managed by Grand Resorts at Cap Cana. As far as my understanding, they are looking into hiring a wedding specialist to handle weddings. I've been pretty much up in the air with my wedding as nobody contacted me about the changes. I found out through my travel agent. It does not seem like it's been a smooth transition. According to the new management, if your wedding was booked before the transition then they will honor what was negotiated w/the previous management (Secrets). I don't know but I'm a bit uneasy about this whole thing... As far as the all-inclusive option, it will no longer be an all-inclusive resort but it will be an option to purchase. Happy planning!
  3. Hey ladies! I just got back from my trip to the DR and had a chance to check out SSCC. As expected the grounds are as beautiful as I imagined they would be. The Cap Cana area is very socluded and private with heavy security to the town. SSCC is small and has an exclusive/intimate feel to it. Andrea (which is serving as the wedding coordinator until they hire someone) was very helpful. She showed us around the entire property. I do have to agree that the price is pretty high compared to other all-inclusive in Punta Cana but average for the Cap Cana area. There are other places to hold your ceremony/cocktail/dinner party which are not listed on the wedding packages. Being that we're having a religious ceremony, we can't hold our ceromony outdoors b/c the priest will not married unless its a closed space. The private island is small...note, you can only have your ceremony there if you have 30 or less guest attending. The private Island cannot hold too many people. As far as the wedding packages, I got the impression that they can pretty much cater it to your needs (of course at an additional cost). They also work with DJ Mannia for DJ services which I've heard they're pretty good. As far as the rooms, they were ok (at least the junior suite). I have to say that I was not impressed. It was nice but I guess I was expecting more ... Beach- very small....if you don't mind, it won't bother you Lastly, the people that work there are very polite and friendly which was a plus in my book. Overall, I got what I was expceting. I don't think any resort is 100% perfect but you have to balance out what's important to you and what you can live without..at least that's how I see it. If you want any more specifics, PM me. hope that was somewhat helpful. The site visit def gave me some peace of mind before booking at this resort.... We're aiming for July 2012!! can't wait! Best, D
  4. @ EJ724 Hey! I'm schedule to go for a site visit early next month to both SSCC and Paradisus. Any pointer?? Anything I should make sure I check out? How long was the site visit? I'm trying to squeeze in a visit to Pradisus and SSCC on the same day. thanks!
  5. Hi ladies... I'm also looking into sscc for June 2012. I'm taking a trip out to the DR next month and hope to find the resort to look as amazing as the pics online. Any pointers on key questions I should ask during our site visit. I think the place looks amazing but haven't really found any real wedding reviews... Good luck to all during your wedding planning!
