  1. On the Pacific side, in Jaco, check out Hotel Docelunas. They have hosted many weddings, are #2 in TripAdvisor, and have an in house wedding coordinator that is free with booking the event there, and taking all 20 rooms.... Good luck, and congrats
  2. Hi there, while there are many places on the beach in Manuel Antonio, many are quite expensive. Flexibility... not sure what you mean by that. Full board, half board, early/late check in/out??? I do know Jaco is closer to the airport, less expensive, and there are many secluded spots for a beach ceremony in the town just south of there, Hermosa. They also enjoy a much more active nightlife. Hotel Docelunas has done numerous weddings, both on their spectacular grounds, and on nearby beaches. They also can be flexible as to meal plans, etc. Good luck....
  3. Hi there, a Canadian national, Donnie Walsh, lives in that area. He has a blues band that plays out in that area fairly often. I know you could get a band from San Jose to make the drive, but you would have to put them up for the night. Kingo Lovers are a good roots reggae band, they have opened for Alpha Blondie, Steel Pulse, and others. I know, because I produced the shows. Un Rojo are also good. Good luck.....
  4. Hi there, don't know if you are still checking here. It usually rains between 430-530 during that time of year. Sometimes it goes all night, usually not. It will be plenty warm for swimming. Most bars/restaurants down there are not too expensive, I'm sure you'll find something to your liking. I can't recommend a local salsa band there, but salsa bands are usually pretty big, so they will be kind of pricey. Don't expect anything under 500, and you'll need to provide the PA as well. But, September in Dominical is slow, so you can bargain. I know Jaco a lot better, wish I could help more. There is a music school in Perez Zeledon[not far], you may be able to find a salsa band through them... good luck
  5. Hi there, I don't know any locations in Guanacaste, it's a little remote. The Central Pacific Coast has better infrastructure, and jaco is only an hour from the main airport. Hotel Docelunas has a strong wireless connection and could do a live webcast. It's a small boutique hotel, with room for your group. they have hosted numerous weddings. Check out docelunas.com
  6. That's a tough one. Centenario is the national rum. They make a 12 year. Small bottle of that may work. There is a vanilla plantation in Quepos, maybe a small bottle of whole beans. If anyone is coming to the wedding, and lives in CR, maybe a small orchid. A local entreprenuer in Jaco makes things out of palm fronds. Very unique. Wood carvings are an option, but most are from Nicaragua.
  7. Hi there, Jaco is the closest beach town to the San Jose airport, one hour away. Hotel Docelunas[docelunas.com], has hosted many weddings in their beautiful gardens, or at any number of secluded nearby beaches. It's a 4 star hotel that looks like a 5, and is priced like a 3. If you did it in the beginning of the month, I'm sure they will work with you.
  8. Hi there, why don't you consider the Jaco area. It's one hour from the San Jose airport. There are numerous beautiful beaches in the area, great infrastructure, and good roads. All considerations here in Costa Rica. Hotel Docelunas in Jaco has hosted many weddings, and has internet speed enough to webcast. You can have the ceremony on their gorgeous grounds, or at a nearby beach.
