  1. Hi there! I'm getting married in March 2012 and have also lost 15lbs on weight watchers thus far. LOL - I think 15lbs is about when you realize that there is no turning back. I decided to increase my workouts. I'm increasing my cardio (45-60min instead of 30-45min) and trying to lift weights more often. I went to the gym 7 days this week, but my goal is 5x a week. I'm attending the WW@Work Meetings at my job which is so convenient and 50% off. What is working for you all?
  2. Have you done a site visit? The feel of Hilton and Half Moon are very different. All depends on what you're looking for. We felt like royalty at Half Moon...they have everything there. From the villas to the pools to the breathtaking spa. The Hilton was also nice, but it felt more like your usual all-inclusive resort. There was a wedding during the weekend I was there, and the bride didn't do much to make it private. For example, the day before her wedding, the bridal party was meeting for a pre-wedding lunch filled with toasts etc, but since they couldn't make a reservation at any of the restaurants for lunch because reservations arent permitted during lunch, they all ended up waiting in the long line and coordinating to get tables that were close to each other. If it were me, I would have at least gone to an off-site restaurant to make sure we felt more exclusive. So, there are always ways to make it how you want it.

  4. Hi there - I'm getting married in Jamaica in 2012 also! We picked Half Moon which sounds like more than you're willing to spend. But we actually stayed at the Rose Hall Hilton while we were in Jamaica recently, and it is a good value. It was recently renovated, so the rooms are modern and clean (although the bathrooms are tiny). The food was very good, the rates were very reasonable, it's all-inclusive, and has some pretty wedding spots. I would definitely check it out!! Good luck! Yay for Jamaica in 2012 Also - If you are interested in Negril, check out the Rock House which is also very reasonable and soooo pretty.
  5. Hi Girls -- In my opinion, and having traveled to JA many many times because my parents are Jamaican, Dec-April is still the best time to travel to JA. Summers are nice too - but I booked in March because the daytime was sunny and mid-80s and evenings were low 70s with a breeze....perfection. That way, you can still dance the night away without everyone looking sweaty in all your photos! I got a GREAT tan when I was in Montego Bay during the 2nd wk of March just this year.
  6. wedding window is the best. i used other sites at first to try them out, but many of them were cheesy/80s. i've gotten so many genuine compliments on my site! and i paid for my own domain, so it's easy to remember :-)
  7. I am dieting with my Fiance. I'm following Weight Watchers and going to the at-work meetings. He is following WW by default -- he doesnt attend meetings but I portion all of his food. We are there to keep one another accountable and so far it's been working. I've lost 12lbs (want to lose another 68lbs, so dont get excited lol). Keep in mind that men lose weight more quickly, so dont get discouraged when people start telling him that he looks great and that they see major changes in him. I think that will come in time for me. I'm just patiently waiting for people to start noticing haha.
  8. Where in Jamaica? I am a March 2012 Jamaica bride too!
  9. Yay 2012 brides!! We booked our venue last month after returning from our scouting trip to Jamaica. We are getting married at Half Moon in Montego Bay, JA on March 10 2012! Sent out our STD-magnets last weekend and everyone has received them...getting lots of compliments. Weddingpaperdivas.com is awesome. I'll be going dress shopping this summer in July. I'm going to Kleinfelds in NYC because they have so many gowns...it's crazy. I went in January and almost bought a dress, but at that point I hadn't picked a venue and hadnt even thought of doing it in Jamaica, so I'm glad to be going back with my actual venue in mind. When is everyone sending out their invitations??? Our hotel requires that guests book by January 2012 and we were thinking of sending them out this summer...
