  3. I have to agree with all you frustrated BRIDES!!! I am getting married there in 4 weeks (YES, 4 weeks). We still don't have everything "approved", and there are extra costs for everything. We even have to pay to have extra chairs on the beach for our ceremony (we have to pay for 40 extra chairs as we have 70 guests & they only cover 30 chairs- WTF???). Yes, we did sign our contract over a year ago & our proposal is wrong every time I receive it. It is so frustrating!!! I have a telephone meeting this week & I am about to EXPLODE!!! The worst part is that I have been a part of multiple destination weddings in the past & NONE of them had any problems or confusion planning their wedding. This has been a NIGHTMARE!! My only hope (prayer) is that it "all works out in the end". At least that's what they keep telling me.
  4. Vane23, When did you sign your contract? and when is your wedding? These inconsistencies are driving me CRAZY!!!!
  5. Vane23: What did you get adjusted? the 3 hr max hrs per day unlimited function? or the photographer/day pass issue? I have over 70 people (paid in full) & we signed the contract over a year ago. So we totally qualify for the unlimted function & booked the reception for an additional 4 hrs (we have to pay extra for those 4 hrs though). My travel agent (who rocks!) sent an email to a Palace Manager related to my issues- not getting answers/responses from Renee & I instantly got a msg from another wedding coordinator who plans to "assist Renee" in my planning. My wedding is less then 2 months away & I had a million questions. She wouldn't respond to any emails & when she did, it was "see the new wedding collection attachment". No help whatsoever! Hopefully my next "conference" will go better!!
  6. Ashli, Where do you live? Canada? My TA may be able to help. She is a destination wedding specialist & is the only reason I have gotten anywhere with that Renee girl. She has made so many calls for me!! So, if you are still looking for an agent, she is great. As for the communication issue. That will be the hotel's downfall.... the place is awesome (we went in April for a site inspection), but she has not been helpful. I have emailed her a couple times this week & she hasn't replied. So, on Monday I am going to call my TA & then she will hopefully talk/respond to me... lol. It shouldn't be this way & it is sad in a way. I have been to quite a few DW (other resort chains) & those brides didn't have any problems communicating with the wedding planners etc. Hopefully it changes... BTW- when is your wedding date?
  7. Vinarum, I don't have anyone requiring a day pass & I am bringing my own photographer. I am undecided about the OOT bags bc I think it will be a lot to bring with such a large group (coming from 8 different cities/airports). As for the terrace, I think you can have it with 40ppl. r and k, I will look for the price list for the salon that I was sent months ago. Although they may have changed the prices:) Also, I seen the lounge tables (when we visited) & they were really nice. I don't remember thinking that they were low. Not sure if that helps... Vane23, She was very strict on the outside vendor issue. I was planning to get DJMannia, but she said I was no permitted, not negotiable. But, she wasn't concerned that I was bringing my own photographer (but she made sure he was a guest).

  9. SOBOL1978, I had my conference yesterday with Renee (sorry, I meant to update!). It went OK. It was a little overwhelming as I thought it was an information session & instead she pretty much booked everything. She wanted to know what flowers, info on hair appts, reception plans, etc. I was hoping to just ask questions & decide after clarifying all my questions. But instead I was sent a "quote" on all the things that I may (or may not want). I am now able to communicate with her via email with any questions & have made a list already, lol. She did say that she was at the resort over the weekend & I think she has a better understanding of the options now. I asked about the translator issue r/t a civil ceremony & she said that the wedding corridinator would do the translating. She said that all we would say is "I DO". But, she added that if we had a poem or something that we wanted to say, we could. She said that there are a lot of "policy changes". I did a site inspection in April & had a LARGE list of questions that I had answered (from the wedding coordinator). I had previously reviewed the wedding options prior to my site visit & had it all planned/budgeted. Well, a lot of that info has changed- new rules, extra costs, etc (as of Jan 1/12). A little frustrating. Also, I understood (after yesterday) that I won't be in contact with the resort staff until I arrive. Everything is previously arranged through Miami now (new policy, lol). In saying that, I am sure everything will work out!! Happy Planning Ladies...
  10. My WC is Renee as well. I have my teleconference on Tuesday so hopefully she can answer my questions. I have a very long list.... LOL. Eva: my ceremony will be civil as well, and I also have a lot of questions about a translator etc. If I find out anything I will let you know!
  11. Melissaanddave, We have 70 people going & you totally eased my mind!! With the unlimited private functions, do you have the option of having a function @ a restaurant? or do you have to choose an outdoor buffet option? We are planning our reception on the terrace, but wondered if we could use a restaurant for the welcome dinner etc. Also, did they credit you the 7 days free (give you $$)? How did that work? Also, did they upgrade your room? We would love to see your HDC pics!!! Thanks!

Did you also qualify for the free stay? Did they refund you when you were leaving? How did that work? Thanks
