  1. Amber M, The package photographers are NOT what you want if your photographs are super important to you!! Their photos were mediocre at best! We ha the signiture package and kept the videographer (which was only during the ceremony and soo not that good anyway...we had friends video also and our home video was way better) but hired Del Sol (Melissa and Jonathan for 7 hrs). Best decision we made they were so much fun and sooo professional and incredibly talented!! With hiring del sol we dismissed the package photographer (which was included in the pkg and already paid for) and there were no substitutions allowed for aspects of the package such as the photog/video but im not sure about the decor!! I would email a wedding coordinator (not silvia) someone directly onsite at Le Blanc. Also the Gazebo is very small and i loved it in photos but when i went on a site visit a year before the wedding I was soo grateful we did, we chose the beach and it was picture perfect!! Also the Blancwind terrace is really nice BUT if the sun is still our or setting during the even you choose to have up there (cocktail/reception) it will be way too hot since the sun is reflecting off all the white and tiles...we viewed that too and quickly decide that was a horrible idea for a cocktail area. Also a quick note...I called all of our guests(30 total) who stayed with us at Le blanc when I read some of the posts regarding water issues and damp sheets...when i read that i felt so bad that you ladies had such a bad experience but I also felt like I was in another world because we had no issues at all and did not see any buckets or anything...I feel like Im crazy but none of our guests had issues or saw anything either. Happy planning to you all and goodluck! All will work out in the end!
  2. Wow Amber we were at Le Blanc during the same time you were there (our wedding wa 6/3/12) and we had NONE of the problems your described. Sorry though, that's a bummer. We didn't even see any buckets or smell any mildew everything was perfect. With the exception of not being informed of the giant tent on the beach where we were supposed to be married. As for everyones questions I just have to say Sandra Prieto is AMAZING she wa the onsite coordinator for us and we were her very last wedding!! She is now at Moon Palace as Wendy has said! As for early planning I was in contact with yesenia we used del sol for photography the onsite photographers are not at all ideal. we used the videographer included in the package which is the same company as the photographers and it wasn't too great luckily our friends also took video and it was way better than the professionals. We used an outside DJ but that was because we were only charged day passes and not that new vendor fee as we booked over a yer ahi and got the ok via email from yesenia when we booked. Silvia wasn't the hearsay of help buthe did help finalize some details at the 2 week/1 week point as I didn't do any planning until less than 2 weeks before we arrived. The locations are gorgeous the beach setup was by far the most beautiful the gazebo is nice but a bit stark/cold but the terrace with the gazebo is gorgeous at night for a reception. We were goingto use that space but some issues resulted in Le blanc closing the terrace with the restaurant and making it private for our reception it was perfect!! Happy planning!!
  3. Melissa, definitely have your reception outside. You and your guests didn't fly all the way to Mexico to be in a ballroom!!! It's so beautiful outside, so whatnot it's hot, humid and your hair might be a wreck by TE end of the night! The rain should be the only thing to push you indoors!! Have fun!! As for cocktail hours and locations we did the beach ceremony at 4, cocktail next to the main pool where there is a little hut/gazebo an some grassy areas and reception try close the blancterrace outside the blancstage for us. As for food everything wa great pick the menu that appeals to you! DJ we use DJMannia (an outside vendor) thu were good I'm not sure if it was necessary to use an outside vendor though I'm sure the Le blanc vendor would have been fine and we hired Del Sol for our photographers!!! They were amazing. I'm hoping and praying the photographs are as beautiful as I imagine them to be because of the time of day we did not have the ideal lighting (sunset) and we never snuck away during sunset to snap some morenpictures as we totally forgot since we were having Soo much fun!!)
  4. We just got married at Le Blanc last week...its perfect! I wrote a review in the review forum...if you hav any questions you can message me!! Le Blanc is by far the most luxurious resort in Cancun!!
  5. we just got back from our 2 weeks at le blanc and our wedding...i JUST wrote a review and posted pictures at the other Le Blanc thread so if you have any q's feel free to message me....it was picture perfected and regarding the dinner THE BUFFET WE CHOSE WAS AMAZINGLY DEELISH as is all the food at the resort!! my review is a bit long and may not have touched any important details and i think it is one blabbering run on sentence so pardon my terrible post....here are a few photos
  6. WE just returned from 2 weeks at Le Blanc and our wedding was June 3, we had about 30 guests with us and it was AMAZING!!!!! I knew it would be and it was....Our on site planner was amazing...Sandra Prieto deserves more than I could ever giver her!! We were her last wedding at Le Blanc as she has been promoted and relocated to another resort!!!! She made everything perfect and was with us all day to cue important moments and coordinate everything from the I Do's to the last dance!! Here are some pointers 1. Silvia in the Miami office is very new (she told me she just started) and has soooo much incorrect information and do remember her job is in wedding sales so she is there to help you with planning but to also show you options to add on to your exixting package...It was a difficult start to the planning process and while Silvia was very quick to reply and as helpful as possible there were very many miscommunications and incorrect info. They did try to charge the $500 vendor fee but we booked our DJ (DJ MANNIA) and LA LUNA PHOTOGRAPHERS (DEL SOL) [AMAZING BY THE WAY I HAVE BEEN DREAMING TO WORK WITH DEL SOL SINCE WE DECIDED ON A DESTINATION WEDDING]...anyway we booked them a year ago and i had the OK from YESENIA to have them come on property for just the day pass fees per person. 2. OUR TRAVEL AGENT CAROL PECK. God Bless her she coordinated and arranged all our travel needs for 30 guests! everything was perfect! YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY work with her for your destination wedding or honeymoon or any trip!!!! You can email her at CarolP@allabouthoneymoons.com!! and tell her LAUREN & ANDREW sent you! 3. The resort is perfect, we are New Yorkers and have high expectations and have been to many nice and not so nice resorts but Le Blanc is #1 in Cancun for a reason so know you all made the right decision in choosing Le Blanc. I love the all white, Miami feel and wanted an all white wedding and they were perfect. Luxurious and wonderful! 4. Wedding stuff ... everyone there was amazing the restaurants were delicious and we ate filet mignon every night (really we did and sushi and everything else..i gained a husband and 8 lbs!! haha). the restaurants dont take reservations but I asked if we could arrange for a welcome dinner/gathering and they accomodated 30 of us with a special menu, beautifully decorated tables and everything was perfect!! Another night we asked to arrange for the 30 of us to eat together again and we had 3 birthdays to celebrate and again they took care of us! Treated like we were guests in their own home!! I brought tons of gifts and welcome bags and parasols for the beach, maracas, starfish, etc and almost had a problem bringing it into mexico since customs was concerned that we were bringing too much merchandise to mexico...bring receipts (which i did not do) but i was lucky and was as nice as possible and used my years of spanish lessons to work it out...Sandra my coordinator took all of my stuff including guest book with poloroid, place cards table cards EVERYTHING even fans and bags of rose petals and put EVERYTHING into place...all of it was perfect!! THERE WAS ONE MINOR INCIDENT...WELL IT WAS A GRANDE INCIDENT...we were supposed to be married on the sand and reception at the gazebo terrace however we woke up the morning of the wedding and there was a HUGE i mean HUGE tent being built directly on the beach blocking the beautiful view we dreamed of....I was a bit angry at first since noone let us know about the event (which turned out to be a fashion show and concert which we were invited to later that week which was fabulous) being so massive BUT i realized what was important was being in this beautiful place and the ppl i loved and i told my hubby to do whatever he thought and make all the decisions and i went to the spa for the day...he ended up moving the ceremony to the other side of the beach and they closed the terrace upstairs overlooking the beach (which is normally a restaurant and a club/bar. They closed it for our wedding until our party was over and it ended up being even better than we couldve imagined...poor sandra was so worried it was going to rain all day but it was fine, a bit gray and cloudy but perfect. Food was perfect DJ was good OUR PHOTOGRAPHERS WERE AMAZING...Jonathan and Melissa from La Luna/Del Sol were like part of our crazy family and they were a pleasure!! we already miss them!!! Everything was great and we ended the night by me jumping in the pool in full wedding gear!! Salon...i did a hair and makeup trial with Minerva in the spa and she was so sweet and great!!! i wanted natural and beachy messy curls/waves...the trial was great and she did my makeup beautifully but i decided to not wear any makeup at all for the wedding day but she did do my hair and mani/pedi...FUTURE BRIDES if you think your hair will stay nice for any outdoor ceremony and party think again...i wasnt worried about it but my curls/waves lasted through 20 minutes of ceremony and then i was a hot mess but i didnt care at all!! Spa is amazing use those resort credits!!!!! use the credits for the gift shop, tequila and the Aqua world excursion...So fun with a big group!! Im sure ive missed many topics but in the end you will all be happy just go with the flow (which in my everyday life i could BEVER do) and enjoy...your in paradise with all your friends and family marrying the guy of your dreams....who cares if there is a giant tent in the way, or it drizzles, or if something is out of place or your hair is frizzy or you drank the pool bar out over dos equis and tecate lite and don julio....they can always re-stock and the party continues...if you have any questions pls message me!!! oh yea i forgot to mention the officiant who married us (it was just a civil ceremony but noone knew that) was this funny old man and at the end of our vows he pronounced us Mr & Mrs McCord...we still have no clue who the McCords are but we thought it was sooooo funny!!! also if you could hire your own photographer...the package i chose included one but we wanted great, photo journalistic style photos and del sol is THE BEST!!! I am attaching some photos...on includes a photo of sandra the coordinator i wish she would still be there for all you future brides she is incredibly GREAT at her job!! I work in the field as a wedding cake designer and pastry chef so i deal with a lot of weddings and she is a true professional!!! PS the wedding cake Le Blanc made was delicious I made the toppers and brought them to mexico they were made out of sugar so they did melt and change color a bit but its all in fun!! our beautiful setup i brought the parasols for our guests I didnt wear makeup so minerva just did my hair and i was scared my curls were too tight but good thing they were since the humidity and the breeze loosened them right up...PS ..ICK!! dont get too tan like me!! see..bye bye curls we had a HUGE crowd of ppl staring from every direction....i was super nervouse esp. since i didnt write my vows until 20 minutes before the ceremony and i am seriously camera shy and speaking in public is not my favorite thing to do my groom is great at playing it cool I made sugar toppers for our cake...the grooms suit WAS gray like the real thing but it faded from the sun...i made a mini version of my wedding dress and our dog who couldnt come to mexico

  8. Hi ladies. I am about a week away from our Le blanc wedding and sagged that Silvia wasn't great but Sandra prieto is very helpful. I've been to Le Blanc and it is a palace resort and is gorgeous and worth it.!! The Colin cowie collection I don't know about but I do t actually love his collections I think the Le blanc packages are even nicer!!! The Le blanc site doesn't have great info but the small details are chosen via email with the onsite coordinator weeks before the wedding and the pkgs include just about everything but beware it only includes 3 hrs of reception time (which I just found out) so we had to pay for the 1.5hr extension and outdoor weddings are buffet only and must end at 10pm. Will be at Le blanc in less than six days so if anyone has a question email or message me. Ahh it's so close hopefully all will go well!
  9. Hi ladies, I know the wedding dates are approaching for most and I was just wondering who is working as your wedding coordinator (is she onsite or offsite) and at what point did she contact you for the planning process? I was told I would hear from a coordinator at the 3 month mark, then they said the 2 month mark then I saw the 2 month mark come and go but still no one so I called Le Blanc and have been put in touch with Silvia who is in Miami...while she seems very nice she said she is a new coordinator and does not know the details. I sent a photo of a wedding at Le Blanc done in the standard signature style decor (which is the package we purchased) and it seems everything is an "additional charge" even though it is the standard described in the pkg. Just wondering if anyone is having a similar experience or has any advice. ALso wondering when you ladies started planning with a coordinator and if she in onsite or in the miami office. Also have any of you attended the Le Blanc Webinar a few weeks ago? If you have do you know the rep from Le Blanc Yolanda's last name and/or email? Goodluck ladies!!! Happy planning
  10. Hi amber m. I am getting married June 3 at Le blanc and have a 4pm ceremony on the beach followed by cocktail hour outdoors and reception on the terrace/ gazebo. I chose such an early ceremony since all outdoor events have to end at 10pm so with a 4pm start there won't be a rushed wedding day cut short at 10. I also moved my wedding date since Le blanc double booked our wedding date there was a conflict with the gazebo space for reception time. But in the end it all worked out and Le blanc was kind enough to block out the entire day of June 3 for just our wedding which is awesome. Goodluck with the planning. Lauren
  11. So I am dying to share our wedding invitations as we wanted something a bit formal (we sent out fun magnets with a picture of us and our puppy in a sombrero for our mexican wedding). I looked around and found everything i liked was around $9 PER INVITE!!!! CRAZYYY!!! Sooooo I made these myself and absolutely LOVE them. Used a company found on ETSY called Naturally Invited for our printed invite, insert, rsvp and name tag which cost $1.00 for each set AMAZING and i ordered the silver stock and the blue pocket from a paper company along with amazing envelopes that look like waves and ribbon i found at a craft store...all it took was some glueing, printing my own envelopes and these invites cost me about $2.50 each...I realllllly love them, they are exactly what I was going for!!! I have to say my cell phone photos are not doing these invites any justice...a bot dark
  12. I used ewedding.com the free version and added photos of us and a bunch of Le blanc as well as our exact itineraRy and our travel agents info. It even let's you pick what song plays when ppl open the website. Simple and cute and free!

  14. Hey, So I have been to Cancun about 8 times during june, july and august and to be perfectly honest all three months feel relatively the same. A June wedding is just as hot as a July wedding so no worries, its mexico, we are all going to be sweaty and its going to be great. I agree with the outdoor vs indoor reception...I didnt choose to get married in mexico to do it inside the ugly ball rooms! About 7 months ago I booked July 2 as our wedding date at Le Blanc however I recently found out they booked another wedding on the same night and the space we hoped to have our reception (and the reason we fell in love with le blanc for our wedding) would not be available since she booked it for her ceremony at the same time. Right now we are hoping to be able to move the date by one day since our invites went out and guests have already booked..so heartbreaking and stressful that we cant confirm both ceremony and reception space upon booking..grr anyway, goodluck with the planning and enjoy your July wedding, you will not notice a difference in the weather and heat if you move it to june or even august (august is actually the "coolest" of the three summer months) Enjoy!!! Lauren
  15. Hi everyone. Hope planning is going well. Just curious of the rate quote you have for your guests staying at Le blanc. I think I have a great rate just not sure. PM me if you want to discuss those details I'll be happy to share my info as well. Goodluck and enjoy!
