Hello everyone! I am new to this thread, for I was originally have a wedding at Dreams Cancun May 2012 till the WC emailed me and said they can longer have my wedding there for they have decided to shut the hotel for 9 months for renovations. Although I was in a bit of a panic, Iberostar Mar/Beach was our 2nd pick, so maybe it's just telling me it's meant to be! I have not emailed any of the WC's of Iberostar yet to make sure my date is available (it's a Monday so I'm thinking it should be?) but I have a big question for you ladies that have already been there..... can someone please email me (KaraWallenstein@gmail.com) or even add to facebook if that helps to see some, pictures of the Mar wedding. I've read through the thread so have lots of helpful information thanks to all of you, but have not been able to see very many pictures of the location/reception/ceremony. Another question is, on this side of the island are the waves rough? I've been to Iberostar Tucan/Quetzal when I was younger and LOVED it, but we have some eldery/handicapped people in our wedding so I don't want it to be too rocky/wavy. Thanks ladies! Kara

Yes, that is for 2012. I emailed Cecilia to see what would be going on approximately since that will be the beginning of construction, and she told me, "The hotel will be closed, they will remodelate the pool, the rooms, etc, not the gazebo." Even if I wanted to still have my wedding there I can't, they are shutting it for 9 months

Hello! I am to looking in to Dreams Puerto Aventuras. I actually had a wedding date picked at Dreams Cancun, and was just informed by the wedding planner that the hotel will be undergoing renovations..... so now I am on a frantic scramble to find a new location. Anyone know anything about Puerto Aventuras? All the reviews/forums seem old....

Hello ladies! I just wanted to inform of you of an email I got today from Cecilia. I had already had a confirmed wedding date (5/28/12) and we had been working on details of my wedding, but then I received this: Dear Kara, sorry for the late response. I did not answering you before because we were talking to the hotel management. The hotel will have renovations starting on April 16th and ending by December 16th 2012. Regards! I have been to a hotel before that was doing renovations (didn't know, the hotel never informed us) and it was awful, loud and defintely not relaxing. I know I will unfortunately have to begin the search of a new hotel location for my wedding, but thought I'd pass on this information Thanks for all the ideas and congrats to all those getting married!

Hello all! I have been reading the reviews, and have gotten some AMAZING ideas so thank you! We are planning a May 28, 2012 wedding so still have plenty of time, but have a HUGE question. My mother is disable..... how far is a bathroom from either the Himitisu beach or the gazebo and that beach? I emailed Cecilia but know that since the wedding is like 15 months away my questions aren't priority, and I'm okay with that. Thanks!!

I too am a newbie on here, and looking at getting married Dreams Cancun May 2012. I feel like I have 1000000 questions, but #1, was it is amazing as all these pictures look like it was? I'm nervous to have all these people fly out to Cancun and it be too hot, or something go wrong!

If only redeemable in 2012.
