  1. Yes, I have tons of pics, I will upload them later for you! We made a home video while we were out there, and a lot of it is from our wedding, it's on youtube, so I'll post the link! It's not the best either, but just to give you an idea http://youtu.be/YO2zCRc_EO0
  2. Yeah there is so many options for dinner but keep in mind that some of the restaurants are closed on a certain day, so just know which ones are if you plan on all going to dinner one night. I forgot about the Seafood place by the adult pool and also the restaurant by the other pool is good I think it was called Seaside Grill?? I do remember that our food took forrreeeverrr to get to us though haha so be patient...all this stuff is just coming back to me! Yes the iPod thing was perfect! Especially cause we played whatever we wanted to listen to. During our stay, there was always some kind of party going on at the club so definitely have the "after-party" there. The night before our wedding we were all in there as well and everyone in the club did a toast for us and they made us taking tequila shots lol. Even before I found out about all the places to have the reception at, I knew I wanted it to be out on the beach, just because it is a destination wedding. So don't worry too much about the wind, my hair was still in place the entire time lol. The surf and turf was good!! Everyone else seemed to enjoy it as well. If you want your steak cooked a different way than how they serve it just request it and they will prepare it the way you want. Yes, we did the round tables and I believe it was 3 round tables, 6 or 7 people to a table, and then our head table which was rectangular was us two. I believe there was 20 or 22 of us. Don't worry about asking me too many questions!! I had sooo many before our wedding and was like Facebooking everyone who had their wedding there and asking so many haha.
  3. We did the Gold Menu with the Surf & turf, Mango shrimp salad, I don't remember what we did for a soup but DON'T do the tortilla soup it's disappointing, and the bruschetta as an App. Overall the food at the resort was good(Italian place my personal fav), the only place we didn't try was the sushi place and I personally wasn't impressed with the Mexican restaurant, their salsa or hot sauce tasted like spaghetti sauce lol.I'm from Texas and am really picky about my Mexican food. The buffet was good too, you can get breakfast in the morning, they make omlettes for you and towards dinner they open up again. For the reception we did the round tables on the beach, we brought some of our own decorations, like table runners in my wedding color, and just a bunch of extra stuff to place on there. Also,(if you are getting some) we requested that the mariachis play during our dinner, which was fun, made it more lively, and they took pics with us before. We didn't have a DJ or dance floor, just put a bunch of good songs on our Ipod, hooked it up to the speaker, danced on the sand and we were set(my brother managed the music if it needed to be paused or changed)! Afterward we all headed to the night club, danced and drank some more! I know my cake wasn't the correct flavor that I had picked out, which I really wasn't too upset over, I never had a personal dressing assitant like it said I would in my package, my cake was supposed to have flowers on it and didn't(which was immediately corrected) My husband and I said we would both go back to the resort, my family and friends also enjoyed it. With our experience we found that the service was good and everyone was attentitive. Our room was ocean view so that was nice, very safe area, you can walk to town for shopping and go swim with the dolphins in the marina. Alison- It was a little windy during that time also.
  4. Hey thanks Allie and congrats to you as well! We had our reception out on the beach, and we didn't decide on where to have it until we got there. I know the day we had our wedding the Mexican restaurant was already booked, which we really didn't plan on renting out a restaurant anyway since it cost extra. They showed us the banquet room which smelt kinda funny and reminded me of a conference room, and I figured I'm having a destination wedding so I want to be out on the beach. I couldn't have been any happier that we decided on that, the ambiance out there is absolutely amazing, especially at night!! Some of my guests even told me they felt like they were in a movie. We were there from May 17-24 and it was HOT!! Lol That sun really beams down on you and is strong, I was so burnt! Before we left I was constantly checking the weather and it showed some rain in the forecast, however it didn't rain a single drop during our stay. I was so worried it would rain on the day of our wedding but it didn't, but they did say if it happened to rain that they would have to move the reception to the banquet room. So if you have any other questions let me know!
  5. Hey everyone, I totally forgot about this thread until I received an email about it! We had our wedding here in May of this year, so if anyone has any questions feel free to ask Bianca
  6. our wedding is May 20 and we will be at the resort from the 17-24. will anyone else be there during this time? also to have the reception at el patio does anyone know if there is an extra charge. and we didnt hire a dj so what do we do about music. we have the ultimate package! thanks bianca
  7. Hey everyone! We are doing the Ultimate Package and I have a few questions about a few things.... Are they only going to take 50 photos or do they take more?? I know it sounds kinda dumb but it says they include 50 photos, so I'm assuming we are able to pick them out, and do you know how much it cost to get more, cause it seems like 50 photos isn't enough. Did any one pay extra for more time with the videographer?? How much extra does that cost?? For the reception part did any one have theirs at the beach?? We are having our wedding May 20, 2011 @5PM but I'm sure its going to be ridiculously hot and I don't want my guests to feel miserable with a reception on the beach, so do you think El Patio would be the better choice?? And does that cost extra?? Also did anyone bring any decorations for the wedding, if so what did you use and what is easiest to transport?? And at the reception does the package come with a DJ or someone who will play some kind of music for my guest to dance for or does that cost extra as well?? Sorry to bombard everyone with all these questions but I feel like I don't know where to get the answers from, and since the date is getting closer, I'm getting really nervous since I feel like I have no idea about anything!! Thanks everyone!!
  8. Hi Gina and Tracy! Congrats! We will be there from the 17-24 We are doing the ultimate package So far we have 18 or 19. No I haven't really been communicating with the WC not at all, I did for like one question and they took forever to respond, but I "liked" the DPA page on Facebook and met some brides who had their wedding there. They really helped me out with a lot of questions I had. Not sure what to do about the music Tiff, thats one thing that is really mind boggling to me! What about you all? Honestly I feel like I don't have many things figured out at all. Bianca
