That actually sounds perfect for you. I have a extra hour though... my ceremony is at 4pm. Right now we have some stragglers who haven't booked yet, so we may have anywhere from 25 to 30 guests. So confused. Oh I forgot to tell you, I asked nancy about playing music at the reception at the outside bar...and she said the bartender would play music if you give them an ipod. I'm gonna have to question her on that a little bit more. I'd be super pissed if something went wrong and i didn't bring my own sound system and then we had no music!

Another question, if your ceremony is at 5pm, will you be having dinner at the 1st or 2nd seating? Now my FI may want to do the 8:45 dinner, but from 4:30-8:45 for cocktails seems soo long. I think 4:30-6:45 may be long enough for cocktails....but then I think how long will we be gone for pictures??? Will it take 45min to a hour? If thats the case, we'll only have cocktails from 5:30 to 6:45! Urgh, I don't know!

Great thread! I see I'm not alone with my smaller wedding. Invited 60+ people and only 20 are confirmed and 10 are still on the fence. 40 days left...urgh.

I think they just sit and be guests... you have a pretty small group.

OMG, it is crappy today, isn't it. I got drenched in the rain today! I'm not really planning anything right now regarding the wedding. FI and I are just trying to discuss the logistics and flow of the actual wedding day right now. 40 days to go!

Don't let anyone influence what YOU want. Its not their wedding, its yours. I know in your mind, you had a perception of the way you wanted to look on the day of your wedding. Don't let that thought be swayed. Stay true to yourself.

Hey ladies.... My FI and I are going back and forth regarding private vs semi-private dinner. Is anyone doing a private? I just dont wanna pay $1600 so my party can be alone. I was thinking that if my wedding is at 4pm, we can do a cocktail hour/mini reception with music from 4:30 until 6:45 and then have semi-private dinner. When they kick us out the restaurant at 8pm, have drinks at a hotel bar and then change clothes and head out for a night of partying? I think thats reasonable? I just don't want my guests to feel they were jipped out of a "real" wedding reception. What is everyone elses timeline and dinner plans?

I don't know if its jealousy? Of course FI thinks it is... they have some history of 'issues' in the past. We're old ladies I'm 36 and she's 33 or 34 (I forget). I'm still just a little shocked. I dunno. Weird.

Hello ladies! This does and does not have to do with wedding planning...more so just venting. My best friend of 14 years and I have had a rocky relationship lately...it seems every couple of years we go through something. So when planning the wedding, she told me she couldn't "justify" spending the money to go. She has children and said she couldn't "justify" spending the money. I was hurt, but ok fine I got over it. So since September I've been texting and emailing her to hook up to do stuff. She always avoids me. Finally today I sent her a email saying whats up, spill it, why are you avoiding me?! Not to get deep into it, she said she doesn't approve of the marriage, doesn't like my fiance, I deserve better, and from past experience I drop my friends when i get a man and then Im back around when the relationship falls apart. So, yeah, she said we grew apart and pretty much broke up with me. I'm a little hurt...but I think I'm ok. Everything comes to an end i guess.... After I get married I'll be moving from WI and maybe its just best this way. I was just a little shocked I guess.

I think the above advice is pretty good. I was going to say to at least go on vacation so you don't lose money. Did you guys do any pre-wedding counseling or anything? I think you two need to talk and maybe together talk with a counselor or someone.

I think most pools close around 6 or 7 at the resorts. I stayed at Riu Palace Mexico and I think it closed about that time...
