Keshia, No, I did request info from Ivan, but he is booked for the day of my wedding. I am booking Octavio Montes. He seems so nice and was so responsive and very reasonably priced. I also received prices from a few others if anyone else is interested I can email you the information.

So excited!!! I think I just found my photographer!! Beautiful pictures and a price I can afford. I am not stressing about anohter detail until I have a final headcount in March.

Aww...I'm so sorry. It is so hard because of course you want all the important people in your life there. On one hand, you did give more than enough notice. On the other hand, it is expensive and some people just can't afford it. If she is one of your closest friends, I'm sure she put a lot of thought into how she could make it work and it must have been hard for her to tell you she can't go. She can still be a part of your wedding by helping you plan, shop etc. Are you having anything at home before or after the wedding? I had one BM drop out so far. My sister is my MOH, but a very unrelialbe person. Despite having over a year to plan for this expense, I can really see her not showing up. My FI has not asked any guys to be in the wedding yet. He wants to wait to see which of his friends are going so he doesn't make the feel obligated. It's a good chance that I will wind up with 4 out of 6 BM with his 1 GM. Everything will work out. I think the important part to remember is that all of this is about the two of you. After your big day is over, all you will remember is how happy and beautiful everything was.

Yeah, I am on the fence as well. I request prices from a list of photographers today. If you want, I can pass that info along once I get it.

Honestly, I think all of the venues, inside and out are beautiful. I don't think we could go wrong with any of them. I found a post on here from a bride who order her flowers from a local florist in Cancun and had them delivered. The florist said they were a gift from a guest. I'm going to contact the florist she used for prices. I will even go pick them up if need be. I also think that money can be better spent. Have you decided what you are doing for a photographer?

I know exactly what dress you are talking about form JCrew. I love it!! I love both my dress and the bridesmaid dresses, but they are definitely not what I would have picked if I was paying for them. I just don't have the budget to turn down getting all of them for free. I probably would have chosen something like your bm dress. Did you pick out your dress yet? I know exactly what you mean. I originally had 6 girls, one had to back out because she is pregnant and preparing for her sister's wedding. I would be so much easier with a small number, but I love them all.

Hi everyone. I've seen a number of posts regarding using outside vendors (florist and photographers) at Moon Palace. Anyone who has done this, can you please explain the details of how you got around the no outside vendor rule? I'd also appreciate any recommendations of vendors you used and/or pictures examles of their work. Thanks!

These pictures are beautiful. I'm going to contact my wc tomorrow and request David as my photographer. If you don't mind me asking, do your remember which photo package your daughter purchased? Did David take pictures before the ceremony while the bride and groom were preparing?

Oh, perfect. I'm going to ask about that one for one of my events. Do you know what section you are staying in? When do we find out about that? I'm really hoping for the unlimited events too. If so, I will probably have a welcome cocktail party, rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour, reception and maybe a brunch the day after. So how does that work exactly? If we do qualify for the unlimited events, is the reception still only 2 hours? On your visit, did anyone explain what the basic setup included is? I have so many questions. I wish we didn't have to wait so long to talk to the wc.

Cynthia, Thank you so much for the pictures. Do you know the name of the location by the pool? Honestly, they are all so pretty. What did you decide on for your events? Our ceremony will be on the beach. That's all I've decided so far. Would like to reserve my reception location soon though.

That is pretty much what I've decided at this point, too. I figure I can save 10k between now and May. I will pay off my travel, wedding package, rings, etc......all the essentials. I'm hoping that I get enough room bookings to earn the unlimited private events. Right now I think I have a total of 65 room nights, but that is only counting the people I am sure are going. There are still a whole list of people that I think may come as well. The recetption budget (dj, center pieces, photography, etc) will come down to what I have left at that point and maybe a little from our income tax return. I got really lucky, I actually won my dress and all my bridesmaid dresses from a sweepstake in Bridal Guide. I even had a little left over to get a dress for the reception dinner and welcome party.

That's very true and I try to keep that in mind as much as possible. Besides, I have plenty of stressing to do about looking fabulous in a bikini that week! haha!

Terpgurl, I thought about doing that as well. I thought about having an outside florist make the BM flowers and I would pick them up myself the day before or even the morning of the wedding. Some people has suggested using real touch flowers, but I'd rather not. I just can't see spending $120+ on them. I think they are incredible overpriced.

Nicola, They are both beautiful, but you obviously love the Benjamin Roberts dress so go with that one!
