I definitely think 6 months is a minimum if you want to order a dress. If you plan on buying off the rack then Jan/Feb should be fine. But you also have to consider alterations time. I'm not getting married till March 2012 and I already want to buy my dress! I can't believe you have the patience to wait! ha ha

I'm also doing a boudoir album. I think for a guy its really the best gift you can give them!

Hey everyone I need some advice here. We are having a pretty formal AHR. It will essentially be the same reception we would have had if we didn't have a destination wedding. I am wondering we would like to choose an MC who is my FI brother in law. However, he isn't going to be able to make it to the DW. They have 4 kids and say they can't justify the cost. Is it tacky to ask him to be our MC at the AHR if he isn't at the DW???

I think having a secret stash is a good idea. Because you are right sometimes boys just don't get it. I plan on having secret money too with which I buy some secret things. He'll appreciate it later but you don't always want to tell them the cost up front. This way you have some money to buy those extras.

Hey ladies, I thought all Calgary brides having an AHR could post in this thread about where their AHR is. Its hard to sort through halls, hotels,etc so if we could share pricing info or other tips that would be great.

I'm not here to judge anyone. But I am a dietitian and all I have to say is please, please don't do a cleanse. There is absoloutely no reason that you need to "cleanse" your body, our body does that naturally. The master cleanse or maple syrup cleanse or any other names it goes by should essentially be called starving yourself. You will of course see short term weight loss when your calories are so low but I guarantee you will gain the weight back. I completely understand peoples desire to use a cleanse to jump start weight loss but my opinion is it will only cause your body damage. I am more than happy to give out nutrition and diet advice to any brides who want to shed some pounds in a healthy way!

I went once just to get a general idea of what I want. I have been looking at lots of pictures online and think I have found the perfect Maggie dress. I won't be buying probably till March 2011

I'm at 2012 bride too, planning for March in Punta Cana. So excited to see everyone else planning early too. Sometimes I feel like my planning is a little premature but its all you want to do after you get engaged! And I feel that I have lots of time to get the best deals and really decide on what I want for my wedding. Have any of you ladies started dress shopping yet?
