  1. stbmrsfreeman: Your post about them not being able to be your photographer breaks my heart. I got married at Cabo Azul last June, and their blog is the REASON we chose Cabo Azul. I'm so confused because they have advertised CAR for free to so many brides through their website. It is truly a shame that CAR is now only letting certain photographers do weddings at their resort. Be careful of price mark-ups because of this -- it might be because they are making brides pay extra and giving these "approved" photographers kick-backs. Bad business. Shame on Cabo Azul. So sorry that you're going through this. You should be able to chose who you want for your special day.
  2. The bridesmaid dresses are JCrew, but I have to warn you... the dresses have a very strange bodice that you can't see in the pictures. My bridesmaids called them "U" boobs. Not a cute or functional look -- half of the girls ended up adding straps for the reception. But they look good in pictures! The jr. bridesmaid and flower girl dresses were ordered online -- forget the name of the website, but if you're interested I can find it for you. Good luck with your planning, and great color choices!
  3. Hi KatieJ, Koozies are by Canary Marketing -- we worked with Cadi who is a friend of ours.
  4. Aww, you guys are sweet. Mishele81 -- it's Badgley Mischka, and the name of the dress is Fifi. Just a note -- this dress does not bustle well. My bridesmaid ended up tying the train in a knot by the end of the night so I could dance. NOT a good look.
  5. This was one of my favorite threads before the wedding! Had to post mine after! Model: All of my pics by Alec and T (www.alecandt.com)
  6. We had 140 guests, so this was tough. But for less than $10/bag, we ended up having: large canvas beach bags from Oriental Trading Company with handmade "Gracias" tags with our logo on the back One Corona and one lime per person in custom Koozies, plus an original "Corona and Lime" welcome poem a handmade bracelet (a friendship bracelet in our colors made by our niece) honoring a loved one who is no longer with us Mexican candy (from the Gigante in Cabo) in clear palm tree bags from Oriental Trading Company Different bags filled with squirt guns, pool toys, and candy for the kids. WISH we had remembered the itinerary to put in the bag! People were asking for one all weekend. Here are pics of some of the stuff (all pics from Alec and T. -- www.alecandt.com)
  7. Update: Our guests LOVED these. We saw them everywhere during our wedding weekend -- the pool, the beach, as carry-ons on the way home... They were perfect.
  8. Awww... thanks for the sweet comments, girls! Anudrm - My 10 year-old niece made the bracelets. Do you know any kids? Chances are they can help you with the bracelets -- I don't know the exact technique, but it's a bit like braiding and all of the girls seem to be into it right now. It was really cool seeing everyone wear them -- it really set the mood for the day. It's a great way to remember a loved one in a happy, positive way!
  9. Hi MODS, Hoping you can help me.... I'd love to do a review on Cabo Azul Resort in San Jose del Cabo, but it is not currently listed and I can't add it. Any tips? Thanks!! Lisa
  10. I hope to add more pics soon. For now, I hope it helps some of you that are planning weddings with these colors, or are booked at Cabo Azul! Best of luck with your planning. Enjoy! Invitations Fun details -- the guests LOVED their koozies!! All 140 people at our wedding wore these the entire weekend. Two months later, my husband and in-laws still have them on! On the back is a cute picture of my husband and his late uncle. The dress Bridesmaids, Jr. Bridesmaid, and flower girl in navy. The necklaces were their BM gifts. The boys... Walking down the aisle Vows Both moms performed a sand ceremony symbolically uniting our families... MOH and best man dancing back down the aisle to Say Hey by Michael Franti! My new niece! The Coronas matched our colors, so they made it into our photos... The gorgeous chapel at Cabo Azul How cute is my new MIL?! Love!
  11. Navy blue, emerald green, hot pink. Photos are by Alec and T. Here are my bridesmaids:
  12. Hi Ladies, This was a great lesson for me. It goes to show that you really can't have your heart set on something.... Key to a destination wedding = FLEXIBILITY! I originally, with your help, chose #1 but with more calla lilies. Here's what I actually got (photo by Alec and T.):
  13. It's so hard to choose!! Here are two. Both are by Alec & T. (www.alecandt.com)
  14. I just got back from my wedding in Cabo and can highly recommend Suzanne Morel. I have very picky bridesmaids and Suzanne's team even passed their tests. My make up and hair were perfect for my wedding day, and I think that that alone is worth the price. As for your bridesmaids/MOBs, Suzanne is great but very pricey. One of my BM's sisters got their hair and make up done for $40 USD at our resort, but my BM's hair alone was $110 through Suzanne Morel. Moral of the story: If you want your hair and make up to be flawless on your wedding day, spend the money and go to Suzanne Morel. As for BMs, a little overpriced if you are looking to save.
  15. Celebration by Kool & the Gang!!! Yeaaaaah Hoooo!
  16. And here is a pic -- tried to give you all perspective by putting a bottle of wine next to it. The green cylinder in the corner is our koozie...
  17. Hi Girls, I got them! They are very cute -- perfect for OOT bags. I'll post a picture soon. I ordered mine in royal blue, but it's actually lighter than royal blue -- just blue. They are a tiny bit smaller than I expected, but still can hold all of our OOT items easily. I think they are the perfect size! They do look like a standard canvas bag, even though they are polyester. They only thing that looks a little bit cheap is that you can see the handles sewn in on the inside. For less than $2/bag, they are a great find! I've been looking for the perfect bags for over a year -- these are exactly what I wanted. You won't be disappointed if you order these, unless you are looking for a huge beach bag.
  18. We're doing navy and kelly green -- I'll be posting my planning journal soon if you want ideas. Wedding is in less than two weeks!
  19. These cute bags are a great size and are an amazing deal. They look like canvas tote bags but are made out of polyester (so they can still take iron-on logos easily). They are white with either red, black, or royal blue handles. http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/browse/processRequest.do?requestURI=processProductsCatalog&sku=14/459-RB I will let you all know about the quality when I get them on Wednesday!
  20. Bump! Any other ideas? My flower girl is 8 and the ring bearer is 4. We also have a Jr. Bridesmaid who is 11. Thanks!
  21. I ordered necklaces for them at StellaandDot.com. I gave them 5 options that they could choose from that all were different but went with the dress. I also got them bikini bags.
  22. Hi mpeter81, Will you let us know if it still exists? It sounds perfect. Thanks!!
  23. I just got a Hanky Panky "i do" blue thong as my something blue (love Hanky Panky -- no lines!). I am super curious about this "bump-a-cup" bra that people have been mentioning -- it might be a good alternative to the sticky bras I've been considering! Has anyone used them yet? Do they work?
