  5. Hi everyone. Â Thought Id start a thread on Hawaiian traditions and customs that would be fun to intergrate into weddings. Â Would be helpful if you could all share hawaii traditions and customs that you are using for your wedding. Â I know Ill definitely have island flowers as well as hula dancers for entertainment. Â Ideas please! Â Â Â
  6. Hi all. Â I am a newbie to BDW and am trying to decide on a location for our wedding. Originally we were thinking Cabo mexico but are thinking now that we might like something a little more greener and an easier place to marry. Â However, we are definitely set on having a beach ceremony and would like to have guest seated during it. Is this possible? I know there have been legal restictions on public beaches but I was hoping you girls would be able to tell me where on Maui I could so such a ceremony. Â Our ideal location would be on a private beach where we dont have to worry about hotel guest overlooking the ceremony. Also any place that is close to an all inclusive would be ideal. We want to hold the whole event in one general area if possible! Â Any advice or update the the situation would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  7. This is such a unique and and special idea. well done you!
  8. Thanks for the heads-up girls. These people definitely seem very unprofessional and even worse...untrustworthy. Â
  9. Thanks for the pics Jerome, they really help visualize the venue. Very nice photography too!
  10. Soo So pretty. Especially the hanging stars. Will definitely use this at my wedding. Thanks for sharing
  11. Hi Doni, Â Thanks so much for this helpful insight. Now thinking about it I think youre right. I didnt realise how difficult it would be to transport everyone to and from the villa. I guest I just feel in love with the look and forgot to think of all the practicalities. I wasnt aware of the Cabo del Sol being a private villa. Having looked at some of the other forum post it seems like this location or the Zoetry Casa del Mar location are now our top 2! During your site visit did you look at the Casa del Mar? Both look fab. Ideally we would like to get married on the beach and an air-con reception area is a plus too. Can you marry on the beach at the Cabo del Sole? Thanks so much for your feedback!
  12. Wow. Loved your review and all the details. Just what I was looking for. Best wishes to you two! Absolutely stunning wedding!
  13. Hey girls, Â Cant seem to find any info on wedding that have been held at Villa la Laguna. It looks absolutely perfect for our wedding of about 100. We wanted a private villa for our special day and also wanted to be able to party into the night. Villa La Laguna seems to offer this. However, from the pics it doesnt look like we would be able to seat all 100 guests for a formal dinner on the property. We like the idea of a beach ceremony but would much rather be off the beach for dinner and dance. Also, I am a bit worried that if we have our ceremony on the beach guests will have to walk through the reception set up to get the the beach. I really dont like this idea. Â Has anyone had a wedding her or has been to a wedding here? Â Also can anyone quote average rates for hosting a villa wedding for 100? Â Thanks all! Â
  14. Hi Irene,  I too have been looking at villa weddings for a party of 100. In terms of catering, Denni's Catering - (they are highly recommended) sent us the following 2010 catering break down which is reasonable for a group our size and everything that is included. However, Im sure there is room for negotiations.  Per Person Price $139.00 US Dollars All inclusive Price includes 3 appetizers, 1 first course, 1 main course, 1 dessert, National open bar for 4 hours, set up including round table, linen, silverware, dishware, glassware, Centre piece (no flower), chairs, décor (torches, luminaries) waiters and bartender for 4 hours, set up & strike, services and tax  Hope this helps
  15. Its a private club available to the residents and guest of the pamillia villas. You can rent out the club for weddings but its pricy. you dont need to rent/own the villas to do so. Renting the club is 10,000 USD and catering for all food drinks is about 175 pp.
  16. Here is something I found on the loscabosguide.com  "The Cabo Surf Hotel can host wedding groups of up to one hundred and offers wedding planning, plush accommodations, and first class dining at sane prices. Majestic palms frame vistas of a world-class surf break offshore. Maui comes close, but no Cuban cigar. It’s just more expensive and harder to get to. On the beach is surf legend Mike Doyle’s surf school where your whole party can learn how to stand up on a surfboard and dance on waves. You can have your wedding on the hotels grassy green lawn next to the infinity pool overlooking the surf break, or barefoot it on the sandy beach. The hotel's 7 Seas Restaurant is located on a palapa covered dining terrace overlooking the bay. It’s an enchanting location for a wedding rehearsal meal or dinner party. Travel guides note it for its casual elegance and fine menu that features entrees ranging from Kobe beef in cabernet sauce to fresh Baja lobster and other tantalizing seafood dishes. The chef and hotel staff can handle your event catering needs. Cabo Surf Hotel has twenty-two rooms and a penthouse that sleeps eight. If a villa with a Jacuzzi on the balcony overlooking the moonlit sea doesn’t inspire your wedding night-you’ve probably been married too long already. A new spa features all the popular treatments including hot rocks, herbal and seaweed wraps. A special spa treatment for couples includes a whirlpool hydro-therapy and massage that will remove those aches and pains you acquired from surfing, golfing or celebrating that nuptial night. The hotel’s wedding planner can handle all those important details like: Legal docs, ceremony set-up, flowers, photographer and even the brides make-over. Ministers and music are available al gusto. Memories are gratis. Just bring your sweetheart and checkbook. Getting there: Many airlines have direct flights from major US cities and Canada to San Jose del Cabo international airport (SJD). Depending on season and distance, airfare can run $250 to $550 r/t. from the USA. Direct flights take from three to five hours from major points in the USA. A current passport is necessary. Mexican visas are provided on the plane by the airline. Staying there: Cabo Surf Hotel: Acapulquito Beach, Km. 28 Transp. Hwy. San Jose del Cabo. Major credit cards accepted. Rates: $250 to $550 plus 13% tax and $7 a night service charge. For reservations call: (From the USA) 858 964-5117 Local:142-2666 www.cabosurfhotel.com"
  17. Great review! If you dont mind me asking, what was your budget for the wedding. If you could give a rough estimate that would be helpful as I am looking to coordinate a similar multi event wedding using similar (if not the same) vendors. Â
