  1. Hi amy, Â thanks for your honest review. I am recently engaged and have been to the Riu Las Americas before. We are so lost, Amy. We keep hopping back and forth between mexico, jamaica, punta cana. I'm pretty flexible (i just want to get married somewhere pretty!!!) but my fiance is so worried about everything: will they be able to seat us, will we have a decent wedding reception (we are expecting only about 20 ppl), will we be able to do the daddy daughter dance, first dance, etc.), are we wasting money, will we run in to silly 19 year old spring breakers, etc. we are planning to get married over spring break 2011 (i work in a school )... Â you gave such a thurough review, i'm not even sure what my question is....i guess...what would you have done differently--at the same resort? had the disco for a bit? i worry because with a party so small, i worry it will feel like a house party, and people don't typically dance at house parties, you know? i worry daddy daughter and first dance will be too small in numbers to not be awkward. it sounds like the major issues you had were surrounding your personal photographer and the Riu wedding coordinator. we would use "their" photog and also we have a friend coming down for the ceremony who just happens to be a professional wedding photographer, shh. so we are hoping that won't be too much of an issue. Â did you do a civil/religious ceremony or a spiritual one? was it legally binding? did you guys have to do blood tests? if so, what was that expereince like? my fiance is pretty freaked out about that part. the whole giving blood in a foreign country thing. I'm all for the spiritual wedding. any thoughts? Â i guess just: any advice would be so helpful. Â thanks, sara g
