  1. Hi ladies, I am trying to plan my seating arrangement and 9 to 10 people per table would be ideal for my plan. So my question is would 9-10 people per table be too crowded or do you think this amount of people per table would work?
  2. I am also having the same issue, I had read on this thread that if you book an outside vendor such as a photographer a room at the Royal or Gran you can avoid the overpriced outside vendor fee. Well the Royal must be catching on to this and they are determined to continue to charge their outside vendor fee. I told Anna, my coordinator, that we have hired Ivan Luckie as our photographer and that I will be paying for his room at the Gran so him and his assistant can be a guest at our wedding. She then replied that they know he is from the area and since he is from the area they are going to charge us the outside vendor fee even if we pay for his room!! I was so pissed when I read that, there are 35 people that are coming to the resort because we choose to have our wedding there, and we are going to pay for him to stay at their resort and they still want to charge the outside vendor fee. I probably shouldn't have told her that he was going be our photographer and just added a room in his name, but I didn't so now we have to pay the stupid vendor fee. My TA is trying to do what she can to have this fee waived, I will let you all know if she is able to have the fee waived or not
  3. Lisa your pictures look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Our wedding is June 19th 2011 and I had previously decided to go with the resort photography, but after seeing your pics I decided to book Ivan! Did you reserve a room for him or just book him as a non-real wedding guest?
  4. Hi! Thanks so much! My ceremony was at 5:00. I thought it was a great time to do it. We did rush a little bit during cocktail hour to get pictures but everything worked out great. I didn't mind rushing the pics since i'm not big into posing for pics anyway. Plus, since your in June...you'll have more than an hour more sun than I did, so i think a 6:00 ceremony is perfect in June If you want a little more sun for first dance, etc...you can switch to 5. I'll make sure to post my Funever pics when I get them. We also did symbolic and it seems very official because you sign a certificate at the end in front of everyone. Perfect, we are actually doing our reception in the ballroom so it sounds like we will have plently of sun for the pics. That is such a relief to hear that they make the symbolic seem official, I was worried we were going to run into some complications with that.
  5. Hi Ladies, it’s has been awhile since I’ve been on here and so much is going on! Jess those pics are amazing! I am totally going to work up the courage to do them now : ) Natalie your wedding looked so beautiful; I actually got a little teary eyed. We are also using Funever as our photography and videographer due to budget reasons, I had requested Caesar and I am glad to hear he was good to work with and I can’t wait to see the pics! What time was your ceremony? We are scheduled to have ours at 6pm on June 19 2011 but now I am wondering if the time should be moved back to 5pm or 530pm so we can have better sunlight for pictures. Also we are doing the symbolic ceremony, but we are not telling our friends that we are getting married before we go to Mexico. Does anyone know if the minister makes it a point to say it’s a symbolic ceremony or do you think they would be able to keep it quiet? We really want June 19 to be celebrated our wedding date instead of the day that we are going to sign the papers. As for the explosion over the weekend it breaks my heart that this happened, I can’t imagine what those families are going through right now, my thoughts and prayers go out to them. I too was worried that our guest, we have 32 so far, would be concerned that this was an act of terror so I emailed everyone as soon as I heard about the story yesterday morning to let them know what was going on and that it was unpredictable and could have happened anywhere. So far everyone is still on board for Mexico
  6. Wow, those pictures are amazing! I was origannly going to go with one of the resort photogs, because I was quoted $350.00 for outside vendors, but now I think it would be worth the extra money to have her as our photograher. Thank you so much for that post, you have been so helpful!!
  7. Thanks Jes! I was getting worried that the ballrooms may not look good but I'm glad to hear that there is plenty of space and not as many restrictions.
  8. Hi ladies, I just booked my wedding at the RPDC for June 19th 2011 at 6pm. We have about 40 guests attending and I am leaning toward holding the reception in the ball room because I am nervous that a beach reception in June may be too hot. However I have not seen any pictures of the ball rooms, does anyone have any pics to post? Also it seems like the resort has multiple ballrooms does anyone know if one is better than the other? Â Thank You!
