  1. Hey ladies! We just got married at the Barcelo Punta Cana on March 27th, 2012 and I have to say it was absolutely wonderful! Like many of you, the reviews made me very nervous but I was lucky enough to get in contact with a few brides from the forum here who got married at BPC and made me feel much better! Ariana is simply amazing. I was worried about the communication since her e-mails sometimes did not always answer my questions and her english did not seem the greatest. Upon arrival we met with her the next day and I couldnt believe how well she spoke English! We sorted everything out in about an hour. The wedding was perfect! Beautiful ceremony area. We had dinner right on the beach (for an extra cost - $30/per person). We had 63 guests so the dinner came to $1890. Yes it was much more expensive than renting out a restaurant but the set up was so beautiful, there was about 30 staff members working on our dinner alone. It was buffet style with SO many options. Everyone commented how great the food was. I could go on and on but I am at work If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me. E-mailing me is the best option - k.swereda@hotmail.com Good luck to all you future brides!!!
  2. I am anti-OOT and think paying for an excursion for all of your guests is a great idea! With that being said, the amount of people that are coming should be kept at a manageable amount. Not to offend anyone who is doing OOT bags! I have seen a bunch of them on here and you all have had some awesome ideas! I did consider doing them but we are having 70 people coming and I couldn't see how we would get them down there plus the costs REALLY add up (I researched a few potential items). You can get a really great group deal on excursions if you are thinking about going that route. I always felt guilty for not doing OOT bags but feel better after seeing lots of you also aren't doing them. Instead we are paying for all of our guests to do a catamaran excursion, we think it will be a blast!
  3. Hi Rousseva! Congratulations of your marriage first off, I can't view your pics here at work but will check them out as soon as I get home! I'm so glad you had a great experience at the Barcelo, we are getting married there in a little over a month and I always love hearing wonderful reviews about the resort and Ariana! Can I ask you what package you chose? We chose the "Ocean Scents" which includes a guaranteed upgrade to a suite and I know there is 2 different types of suites, one includes a living room area and the other is just a larger version of a regular room. We are hoping the guaranteed suite is the one with the living room area, we just figure we will need the extra space to get ready! Feel free to PM me if you prefer Kelsey
  4. Glad to hear! I'm looking forward to what you have to say and some pics! Even though its much to too late now to change my mind as we are leaving in just a little over a month, I wanna hear the good, the bad and the ugly lol. That way i'm prepared going down
  5. Just to give an update she e-mailed me back tonight! I imagine she is busy with weddings everyday!
  6. She e-mailed me about a week ago, I sent one right back asking another question and she hasn't answered me either yet. Maybe she is on vacation or something? She usually is fairly quick to respond!
  7. Hi Trivera, sorry maybe I should have read more closely! That had me second guessing myself for a second, I e-mailed Ariana just to reconfirm! We are doing a private dinner right on the beach for $30/pp. Is is plated! The menu she attached had steak & lobster for the main course. I am not a fan of lobster at all and I know a lot of our guests are not into seafood so I asked if there was an alternative menu and she said that once we get down there we can basically design the menu to our liking! She will also print up menu cards for each place setting. Again you can opt for the buffet which is included in the package prices. The dance part of it will take place in an open air gazebo near by. The only minor issue is we have about 60 guests coming and Ariana is thinking the gazebo might be a bit tight so we may have to move that to the theatre. We are actually just going to be taking our ipod which we will make a huge play list for the night. You can rent an ipod dock and speaker sound systems. The reason we opted to go that route is because I spoke with a bride who got married at the Barcelo last year and she did not recommend the dj, she said he didn't have any current music it was all older stuff. We figure this way we can control exactly what is played Hope that answered all your questions!
  8. We are getting married at the Barcelo Punta Cana on March 27th of this year, and we are bringing an external photographer from our city. Not sure where you got this information from? The wedding package we chose includes 4 guest passes, which will be used for the photographer as he is staying at the resort next door. We made sure this was okay with the WC Ariana. Who told you you couldn't bring your own photographer?
  9. Oh and there is some cheering at the end of the song that I don't care for, I might just fade it out before that!
  10. So sorry to hear of your dad's passing. The song my Dad and I will be dancing to is "Somewhere over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. Here is the youtube link to listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1bFr2SWP1I&feature=relmfu My Dad loves this song. Very beachy too! Your Dad truly is "Somewhere over the Rainbow" and he'll be watching down on you on your big day with a big smile on his face! Good luck with everything!
  11. Can anyone tell me what the model of the camera is? I'm trying to find it and not having any luck! This is an awesome idea btw and i'm going to totally steal it if I can find the camera and the film!
  12. Lovepea, thats very true I didn't even think about that. I hate hurting peoples feelings, I still feel so torn up about this but I am definitely going to include them with as much as possible! I think i'll ask one of them to MC...not sure if thats DW appropriate? Oh i'll think of something! Thanks for all your inputs!
  13. Hey ladies, I've been debating over whether or not to try P90x or Insanity...have any of you done both and have a preference as to which one will tone you up more? I hear mixed reviews about the two of them..not sure if I could commit to 90 days! :S 60 is more reasonable..however we already own P90x, but if Insanity does a better job than i'm willing to go out and get that. I'm not really wanting to lose weight just tone up! Thanks in advance!
  14. Thanks BusyBee, glad i'm not the only one going through this! Although now it has all calmed down. Kat, that is what I definitely what I should have done. But your right, too late now and i'll definitely try and incorporate them somehow into the wedding! Too bad I didn't find this forum sooner! So many girls on here going through the same things and you all are so helpful with advice!
