  1. i'll be staying at the resort from this sat through the 11th (if Tomas doesn't hit!) i'd be happy to share what i see/learn while i'm down there with whoever is interested.
  2. Interesting. Thank you for sharing. I'm actually headed down to the DR the beginning of Nov and I have a meeting set up at the Palma Real. One of my concerns was getting a group rate that would be affordable for my guests. It will be interesting to see what they have to say. I'll have to inquire about this....
  3. omg! yes! facebook pics are great! thanks for the suggestion! my only curiousity is how much of this was done based on what the jellyfish offers versus what brides brought down and did themselves? the set ups are really beautiful. i'm not really a hands-on type of bride, so i'm wondering how much the restaurant does and at what cost. i guess i'll find out when i'm down there to visit in nov. thanks again!
  4. yah, crazy!. well i'm at the beginning so it shouldn't be too bad for me. good luck to you though! i'm sure you will get it all worked out in the end!
  5. anyone have pics of any of the different decor options available at the jellyfish? i'm interested in what the set up looks like? thanks!
  6. does anyone happen to have photos or details on the reception locations at the paradisus palma real? i'm headed down there next month, so does anyone know if the coordinator has books with photos of different receptions to get ideas?
  7. oh no! i have an appointment with Yeisy the week of Nov 8th. Guess I should contact them to confirm I'm with whoever is taking over?
  8. @bkbeachbride  thanks for the info! i did not realize the melia was so close. we are trying to get everyone on the same resort, but that is a good option to have in case it cannot be a reality. my only concern would then be how the restaurants in the shopping area work? my guess is that they are not apart of the all incluse, which would be a bummer.  i guess i'll find out in nov what sort of rates we can negotiate and go from there. so nice to know the options though. thank you because I would of never known this! at least i know i can work something out if i end up really loving the PPR and it is too pricey.
  9. i'm headed to dreams palm beach for a visit as well, in early nov. i'd also love to hear what others have asked. especially those questions you don't think to ask when you are there, but came up later?
  10. @KJ Shea... Oh, is the Dominican Republic Dept of Tourism the bus company used by the Jellyfish?! I didn't realize that. Thanks for the heads up! Yah, I would so appreciate if you wouldn't mind passing along anything you happen to find out about them! Thanks for the reply!
  11. sounds like you can trasport your guests to and from the restaurant on a bus for around $5/person....sounds awesome! does anyone know the max amount of people you can take? more importantly, i'm wondering about the safety of a bus trip back from the restaurant to our resort late at night? thoughts?
  12. Hi everyone! I'm looking to get married sometime early 2012 and I'm currently researching resorts. I'm planning a trip down this Nov to look at resorts. I'm really interested in the PPR, but I'm a little concerned about rates for my guest. The PPR is a little more than what I'd expect guests to pay. I'm thinking I may be able to get a better rate by negotiating. Is anyone willing to share what sort of group rates they were able to negotiate with the resort?
  13. the jellyfish restaurant sounds great and there is some really great info on this thread about the place...i'm def considering this in my planning! sounds like you can trasport your guests to and from the restaurant on a bus for around $5/person....sounds awesome! does anyone know the max amount of people you can take? more importantly, i'm wondering about the safety of a bus trip back from the restaurant to our resort late at night? thoughts?
  14. Oh I think I'm being a bit misleading. That number is likely just going to be the number of invites...I'm assuming we can expect about half of what we invite. Thanks all for the warm welcome!
  15. Hi there, I'm recently engaged and interested in planning a wedding in early 2012 in Punta Cana. We may have anywhere from 75-150 people. Any ideas on where to start?
