**waving frantically** Hi Ladies- Another December bride here. We're getting married 12.11.10 at Valentin Imperial Maya. We are WAAAAAY behind the curve but I made some big checks this weekend. Paid deposit on the reception/ceremony, paid for flights and resort, dress was ordered a few months ago and should be in this week, have shoes, and a veil. I also shopped like a maniac at VP this weekend and for $75 shipping I got: - 2 ball caps (bride and MOH) - an I love you cling for FI's mirror when he's getting dressed - 250 business cards with TA's info to include in STDs - 50 Rack cards to be used as STDs - 50 magnets to go in STDs - 100 Photoshare cards (large postcards) - rubber address stamp with new name - animal print notepad, sticky notes and pen for my MOH - 2 totes (bride and MOH) - MOB t-shirt for mom I can't wait till it all comes in!

Confession: I HATE the way Future MIL treats FI. It makes me real sad and it also makes me really dislike her.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but I saw this great idea on the KNot DIY board. You get a pyrex baking dish (like the 9x13, although you could use anything I guess) and etch the hostess' name on the outside. It looked so nice and everyone can use another one of those, right?

I ended up with a giant ceramic strawberry filled with those strawberry candies that have the strawberry wrappers. Bad but not so bad right? Well, those candies were all melted and tasted rancid. Gotta love the White Elephant (and we play "nice gifts" white elephant not crappy stuff)

Hat- are you going to the same person? I'd try another nail tech. Barbiegirl- I didn't have fake nails added. I went in, she took off the polish I had on, buffed them lightly with that block thing (just like they do with a manicure) then started painting on the gel. NO Fake tip, just my nails. I do recommend letting them remove the gel though, I tried soaking mine in acetone and removing myself and I ended up peeling off the top layer of my nails. I won't do that again!

FWIW my sister had lap band a couple years ago. Although we would love for it to be, it's so not a "magic bullet." Yeah, initially she lost about 40 pounds, put back about 20 and has started back with weight watchers and exercise and is losing again. She can't eat certain foods and taking medication is an issue. I know it's the hardest thing to deal - weight/food/emotions - but she would be the first to tell you that just cause you have the band, doesn't bean the weight will fall off...you still have to change your head. THAT'S the problem with me. Anyway, that said, if there were a magic pill I'd totally take it.
