  1. Hi Ladies, I'm still trying to catch up with all the posts I've missed but It's taking a looong time haha  I noticed you couldn't find the Hair pics so thought I'd post them for you.             Â
  2. Hi Ladies! Â It's been soo long since I posted on here, but I'm sure you'll all agree, that with 5 months to go until your wedding It's the worst time possible for your computer and laptop to explode due to horrible dodgy house wiring! ARGHHHHH!!! Â Anyway, bought a new laptop today and just couldn't deal without coming here for a good look first!!! Â I've got loads and loads to catch up on, but just though I'd ask a quick question (I'm sure it hasn't already been mentioned) Â I know there's absolutely loads of paperwork to complete for the wedding in the Dominican, documents translated, legalised, certified etc....... Can anyone help recommending any companies who can provide the service at a decent cost? Â

If anyone has gotten married at dreams la romana and could help me that would be great, I have asked my wedding planner, or lady e-mailing me and she has not answered after a few e-mails she will keep sending me the same stuff. Thanks girls!! I'm pretty sure they don't discount - I have the basic wedding package and was considering upgrading to another, but we didn't need absolutely everything in there and only have 6 people attending. I was told that I would need to pay for the full wedding pack and any extras on top would be additional to the cost, so we've stayed with the free wedding package and will just get any extras we need when we get there.
  4. Congratulations and welcome to the forum

  6. Hey ladies! Ok so I know It's been ages since I posted on here but It's taken me the best part of a whole evening to catch up with everyone's posts haha. I've just realised Dolfin is actually married now! Soooo excited and can't wait for your review (When you read this) Lizzy if you miss having planning to do then please by all means take over mine :-) Congrats and welcome DRbride :-) Jenne, I've heard loads and loads of mixed reviews about the rooms, is it true their all the same apart from the views?

Jo I'm pretty close to you in numbers and we had considered the gazebo to have our meal in, as we are decorating it for the wedding it just means a few battery lights in the lanterns and we get our monies worth out of the lanterns lol I'm the same as you, as there is only 12 of us, there is no point hiring a dj, but I would like it quite private so we can say a few words and have our first dance, after that I was just going to head to the niteclub, and I was wondering about the speakers myself, it seems a lot of money to hire speakers for a coulple of songs, can any of you married ladies tell us how this would work? Also I'm compiling my cd and ipod playlist for the wedding at the moment and I remember reading someones playlist, can anyone remember was it on this thread? I'm getting stuck for ideas, thanks Omg I can't believe how quickly we are going through that list!!! I can't quite believe I'm going to be there next month!! Good luck for all you May Brides xoxo Awww It's so close! You must be so excited! I'm absolutely beaming and have over 9 months to wait! I can't even begin to imagine what you're going through :-) You're right about the DJ though, I've sent Yanna and Tiara an email to find out more info about the walking down the aisle and things so will just have to wait for them to get back in touch - Hopefully won't be too long .... With the Gazebo decorations are you taking your own lanterns? They look stunning when their up and was considering stealing the idea too after looking at some of the lovely pics on here lol. There's so many ideas I have but It's going to cost a fortune in excess baggage! I know paper lanterns won't really be a lot - But if I need to take speakers and other decorations It's all going to mount up and wonder if it would just be cheaper to ship over first? Hmmm I've found a thread that's just full of playlists so don't know if this will help, It's http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...laylist-42149/ What have you chosen to walk down the aisle too and first dance?

I know to some people it may seem crazy to renew them after 5 years but we had such a crazy wedding with lots of people in the UK, that doing something small and intimate just the 4 of us just seems so much more personal!! Tiara has been so helpful, she has reccomended that after our ceromony dinner on the beach or the pier would be very intimate rather than be in a restaurant with lots of strangers. Still not decided on that yet, what do you think? Hi Flowers Aww that's so sweet! Renewing after 5 years is a lovely idea and keeps the spark going :-) I hope me and my partner are just the same after that long :-) I love the idea of doing something with just the people closest, that's why we chose the Dominican, Chris has such a big family it would of felt more like a show for everyone else, rather than just us and the people who matter most so I think you're doing a great thing and hope you have a fantastic day. I think the pier sounds a bit more romantic than the beach, although both look lovely, I've read a few reviews about the hotel just blocking a part of the beach off (and not a big part) but the pier just looks a bit more secluded and intimate :-) Are you all ready for the big day?
  10. Hi! Welcome to the forum! I've been lurking here for just over a week and the ladies here have answered so many questions and It's made my mind feel at such ease talking to other people going through the same steps as me :-) I hope you find it as brilliant as I have! Oh and Congratulations and I hope you have a fantastic big day :-)
  11. Hi everyone! I've been lurking here for just over a week now and thought it was time to say hello (Finally) My partner and I are getting married on March 3rd 2011 in Dreams La Romana. I just thought I'd thank everyone here in advance! I've had so many of my questions answered already and It's no doubt saved the WC from having to deal with yet another obsessive bride lol I've chosen the worst time ever to say hello, just popping out, but look forward to talking to you all soon
  12. Hi Ladies! First of all I think I need to apologize to every one of you here, I've been lurking for about a week on the forum, this thread in particular and haven't even said hello up until now because I've been too busy catching up on your 94 page spread for DLR, but I'm here now and promise never to lurk again haha. Congratulations to you all on your past and present and future wedding dates! If anyone would like to be kind enough to add me on facebook so I can check out your wedding pics that would be fantastic, I'm leaning towards HDC but still find I'm unable to choose and would love to compare. My name is Joanna Newhams and I'm the only one there :-) I'd really appreciate everyone's opinion though on a certain matter - Everyone thinks I'm being totally obsessive over the wedding considering It's so long away, and getting married abroad because It's an 'easier option' but what do you Ladies think? We're getting married in the Gazebo and have a very small wedding party of 6 people, just my fiance and I, with our parents, we have the Basic Wedding Package and are just buying any extras that we feel necessary, I'd like music to walk down the isle too, and also our first dance too but I'm not really worried about the rest of the night, I don't really see much point in getting a DJ for such a small party so would you all recommend buying iPod speakers? This may sound silly but is there electric near the Gazebo? I don't know if I should get those or battery operated?
