    newbie!

Congratulations and welcome to the forum! It's a bit overwhelming but i can assure you that it's priceless in the information you will gain by using this forum to plan your wedding. best of luck!
  2. Umm...looking at everyone's budget's i'm starting to think i'm not very realistic. I was hoping that a destination wedding would be cheaper than a wedding at home! I have a budget of $15 000 and am hoping to get unlimited private functions at Moon Palace because i'll have enough guests booking rooms to give me this privledge. Thanks to all for posting there's as i see there's lots i haven't thought of.
  3. I'm having exactly the same problem and i'm not sure exactly what to do. I have to arrange for guests to fly from the UK (as that's where my partner and i are based) but also Vancouver as i'm originally from there. I'm flying to Vancouver this week for two weeks and need to sort all this out while i'm there...help!
  4. Hi Cynthia, I'm hoping to book my wedding in at the Moon Palace for the first week of January 2011 but the TA are telling me there are not enough seats on the planes heading that way!!! I'm thinking this is ridiculous and need to do some more canvassing of TA's.
  5. hey december brides! I have a quick question as i haven't booked my wedding yet - but it will be either late december or early january 2011. Do any of you know when the sun sets at that time of year in Cancun/Mayan Riv area? I can't figure out what time to set the wedding for as i'd like it to be during the day but i would also like to have pics after the cermony and some at sunset with fireworks at the reception or cocktail hour. I am thinking maybe 2 or 3pm for the ceremony. Any help you can provide would be great!
  6. I'm so happy someone started this thread!!! I too am a UK bride, orginially from Canada but now in london. I'm having a lot of trouble deciding who to use to organise this whole wedding thing and there's not much time left as we'd like to have a wedding first week of Jan 2011. I also need a TA who will be able to organise my Canadian wedding guests. I've spoken to TA's at both flightcenter and thomas cook but haven't found them to be the least bit helpful. This website is a lifesaver! Most recently the TA i spoke to wanted to know exact numbers of people who will be travelling but i'm not quite sure how i'm meant to do that when i haven't even finalised a wedding date/hotel? I was thinking the Moon Palace in Cancun but now TA's are recommending the RIU hotels to me. I am so confused, as i've never been to this area of Mexico. Any help would be much appreciated!!! Do i really need a travel agent to organise all this?
  7. Hi Everyone! I'm sukhi and i feel as though i'm so far behind all of you! I have decided to have my wedding in the mexican riviera or cancun in late december. Ideally, i would like a new years eve wedding but as prices are so expensive then, i'm not sure my guests would attend! So i'm in the process of narrowing down my options. Right now i'm thinking sometime from December 13 to 31 at: The Grand Velas in Mayan R. or The Moon Palace Gold and Spa Resort in Cancun. I need to have a venue that's child friendly but it's important that the food and hygiene are really high in standards as well because my mom is ill Any help would be much appreciated. Really glad i found this site!
