  1. We just got back from a wonderful week in Nassau Bahamas to celebrate our wedding vow renewal. Hubby and I have been married for 14 years and decided to renew at Compass Point after visiting the area last May for a wedding. I'd like to focus mostly on the videographer we chose. I found Daniel of King of Hearts media via google. It was kind of a last minute decision to even want video since I'm a photographer and many of my guests are photographers as well, so I knew I'd have lots of great photos and memories from the day. However, I had planned on surprising my husband with a live band the day of the renewal but it didn't work out and I found myself with a little extra money to put somewhere else. I can't even tell you how relieved and thrilled I am that I found Daniel and King of Hearts. Just yesterday, one week after the actual renewal, I woke up to a link in my inbox with our video. Words can't describe how excited we are how it turned out. Daniel managed to capture everything we could have possibly wanted, and more, and turned it into something that we can't stop watching. It makes us laugh, it makes us cry, and I am SO grateful that we have these "living" memories to go along with the many stills that my friends captured. Daniel was more than easy to work with from the beginning and he managed to make us feel more like friends than like clients. My husband actually just called to let me know the actual hard copy video just arrived in the mail...8 DAYS after the event. That's practically unheard of in the wedding video business. I would HIGHLY recommend King of Hearts to everyone, don't hesitate if you want some amazing memories to help you live the day all over again! Here's the actual video so you can see just how awesome it is http://vimeo.com/55830133
  2. My bride also brought her own, sorry I can't help out with that!
  3. Hi everyone I have been following this thread for awhile now, gathering as much info. as possible for my friend/client who just got married at Dreams a couple of days ago. I went along with my husband to capture their big day and made sure to take pictures of anything and everything I could in order to help out everyone here with their planning. If you'd like to see pictures (as I find the time to get them posted), you can add me as a friend on facebook under Stacy Hayward (Stacy Baiton). Just please put in the message somewhere that you're from this board and I will add you Debbie, the bride, is a part of this forum as well and I think she plans to give her review too. I can tell you that Dreams is AMAZING and it's the perfect backdrop for beautiful wedding photos!!
  4. I realize this thread is older but the outside vendor thing, at least in 2010 was a HUGE deal and caused a lot of problems for myself as a photographer as well as for the entire wedding party. Although I was a paying guest and not the official photographer, there was a "formal complaint" made against me and I ended up missing out on 4 hours or so of my friends wedding as well as having to go down to the immigration office the next morning to hand over 170.00 for "working" in Mexico when a) I WASN"T working and even if I had been working, I wouldn't have needed a work visa...see here Mexico Entry Requirements Immigration Customs Lone Parent there is much more to the story but the in house photographer at the Riu Palace is the one responsible for the nightmare I've been through so I suggest you think twice before staying there and having to deal with them.
