  1. Awesome!!! Sounds good to me!!! Thanks a lot!
  2. Thank you soooo much for this information!!! Our resort has re-confirmed with us what you have said but I was still a little doubtful, just form checking the Cuban Consulate website... Since we are both single, it seems like it should be a breeze!!! Were you married in Cuba?! Thanks a lot for the help!
  3. Ladies... I would love your advice!! I am getting married in Cuba on May 19th and we want to have a legal ceremony. The coordinator at the resort says that she does not need us to translate anything before we go... we just have to fill out this marriage form and provide them with copies of our passports/birth certificates (and bring the originals with us when we go.) Our package indicates that our resort covers "Judge's service and fees, marriage certificate, documents´ legalization, certified copies of marriage." I am assuming that they know what they are doing and she is reiterate the requirements many times but I am still worried... on the Cuban Consulate's website has a much more extensive list of requirements for getitng married in Cuba... Did you ladies just follow the advice of your wedding coordinators at the resorts?? Did you follow the steps of Cuban Consulate (single status affidavit, translation of documents, etc.?)
  4. Congrats!!! My understanding is that you do not need to register your marriage with anyone here at home... your certificate is proof of your marriage. That being said you may need to show your certificate as proof to change your name, etc. I am assuming that most places can't read spanish so I believe you need to have it translated... I am getting married in Cuba in May and we are planning on getting legally married there?? Did you contact the Cuban Consolate before you left and follow their recommendations?? Or just go with the recommendations of your resort?? My resort says that they include the judges fees, marriage certificate, legalization of doucments and certifications as a part of our wedding package... and they have specifically told me that I don't need to provide anything beyond our passports and birth certificates.... but I am a little worried. Don't want to come back and then discover we are not married!!
  5. I am looking for information from anyone who is having a legal marriage in Cuba... I am going to Paradisus Rio de Oro on May 19 for my wedding and we want to have our legal ceremony on the beach... any Canadian brides doing the same thing?? My wedding package and wedding coordinator at the resort say that my legalization, etc. are included with our package so we do not have to go through all the steps here... but I'm still a little doubtful....
  6. Please add me to the list if you can!!! May 19th, Paradisus Rio de Oro in Holguin Cuba.... soooo soon!
  7. I am getting maried at Paradisus Rio de Oro in Holguin in May 2011... we are getting down to the last few months before we go and I am trying to touch base with other brides who have had a LEGAL wedding in Cuba... The Cuban Consulate clearly outlines the steps you need to take to validate your marriage however our wedding cooridnator at the resort is telling us that these steps are not necessary... our package seems to indicate that they will cover the legalization for us... which is great- but I want to make sure its legit... Any brides have some advice for me... have you been legally married at Paradisus Rio de Oro??
