  1. Thanks so much, I'm really pleased with the journey it's made too. Massive thanks to all of the pointers I got, I really don't think I'd have got here without the feedback!
  2. Here are the first few pages but I'm not sure you're gonna be able to read them this small... can email you them if you gimme your addy? Kim
  3. Morning Ladies, I was just looking through FI and I's scrapbook and stumbled across the welcome brochure from our stay at DLR. Don't know if it'll help but thought it might be some use for those people who are doing pre-travel brochures. Have taken pics of it, if anyone wants me to upload them/ email them out/ add them as attachments then just let me know .
  4. I definitely like the last one too, but do think it needs a little more. Maybe if you add the location and date in smaller, simpler font, just below your names? Try it and see! I'd be happy to tell you what I thought of that one too
  5. Yeah, my OH proposed with a turtle (it's a long story lol) so thought we'd keep it running throughout the wedding. I'll definitely try fading the turtle a little more, thanks. Bayahibe is a little fishing village in the south of the Dominican Republic, where we got engaged too . We're in Manchester, though my FI is originally from Glasgow . How about you?
  6. They're very founded: your planning thread is one of my faves on this entire forum. I love DIY and you seem to be a DIY goddess! I can't wait to have as many things ticked off as you- I'm still just starting out but hope to get there as I really enjoy it and it just makes everything that little bit more personal, doesn't it? Love your latest project too, very cute! Did you make the umbrellas from scratch or cover pre-made ones? Please can I make a request for the final planning post? I'd LOVE to see photos of all of your DIYs on the big day! If you can find time, I'd love to see them. Also, can I be really cheeky and request a template of your boarding passes? I'd really appreciate it! Kim.
  7. Just a quick post- Francys, it was my pleasure Not a problem at all. Brenee- I don't know about there not being toilets in Oceana, we never made it there when we visited (I'm not a seafood lover) but here's a map showing where the Mexican restaurant (and alternative toilets) are in relation to it.
  8. This is such a great thread. So so helpful, and good to help keep perspective! I will be sure to post my own advice when I'm more wise and knowledgeable .
  9. I'm a July 2013 bride, and have already been engaged a year so it does seem like a long wait! Especially as we were decided on location etc. from the off (we're getting married at the resort that FI proposed at- Dreams La Romana, in the DR) I do like it this way though, as it means I have time to plan everything gradually so I (hopefully) don't turn into Bridezilla- haha! It also means I'm able to do a lot of personal DIY touches and look around for the cheapest of things, so as to keep costs nice and low. It's a lot of build-up, but I'm sure it'll be here in no time! Congrats to all you other 2013 brides .
  10. Aww, congratulations! You must be so excited! Good luck with the planning- and remember to enjoy it! I'm a 2013 bride too .
  11. Aww, these are adorable! What sort of rub ons did you use? I'm looking at cheap ways to personalise cups and if these work well they'd be perfect!
  12. Lmao! As a teacher I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this. Hilarious! And something I am v tempted to try myself, though I'm sure you'd still have kids wandering off with them lol. Great idea, thanks for sharing!!
  13. I was originally just gonna go with turquoise and ivory (with a bit of silver) but kept seeing lots of things mixing purple and turquoise which looks beautiful- this book is what finally convinced me to add a bit of purple into the mix too (though we will be keeping it quite minimal)
  14. These pages are absolutely beautiful! I love scrap-booking and did consider doing this but was worried it would be too time consuming. Wish I'd stuck with it now!! You did a brilliant job!!
  15. How did you use these? On the table at your reception? I really like the letters but can't 1. find them cheap enough 2. Think of how to use them... Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated
  16. These are great, really looking forward to making a start on my own after finding 6 packs for £1 today!
  17. Very cute. You've done such a great job on everything! I love the 'ticket to paradise' on the front of your boarding passes!
  18. Gosh, sounds like you had a real time of it! Glad everything got sorted in the end!!
  19. Sorry, it does require publisher to play around with it. I'd upload it as a pdf but you wouldn't be able to edit names etc. then... I'm really pleased with how they turned out, and they were really easy to do. Definitely my fave DIY so far. Gonna have this as the sentimental, traditional guestbook, then I'm having the whiteboard/dress-up photo booth for when people have had a few more drinks
  20. Thanks everyone! Yeah, I think I like it (though I keep looking at the fantastic ones on here and wishing it looked a bit more professional...) Sent FI the link to here and he definitely favours the latest one. Who knows, I may fiddle with it in a few days but for now I'm happy.
  21. I really number one and number 4. You've done a great job with these. Which is yours and FIs faves?
  22. Vista print is a wedding lifesaver. I love the freebies they dole out!
