You also have to remember that when people are dissatisfied they are more motivated to write a review! I'm guilty of that for sure. I'm always going to get to those positive reviews just never find the time. Right?

I basicly told my guests that after 6/15 the group rate is not longer available--can't guarentee price or space. Which was mostly true....we where going to release them back to hotel and get my deposits back. Heard from my TA yesterday that there is only one room left in the block we reserved! Yeah!! As far as shipping down to mexico, customs etc---there are some very informative threads on here. I won't be shipping anything due to one post I read about them "burning" entire shipment because there was something not allowed. Sounds like taking your chances at customs and having all reciepts is the best bet.

Wow that was really quick on the pics! They came out awesome!! Snorkel gear pictures are hilarious! Definately impressed w/ the resort photographer skills. As far as the dinner, plated vs. buffet, even though you had more than 40 people you could have had it plated?

Yeah, you definately have to know where to draw the line on expenses. I've really saved in other areas so I can spend a little more time/money on other things. Plus I really need to remember that I need to transport all this stuff down there. Are you putting alot in your OOT Bags?

If possible my head has already exploded a few times....LOL! I don't really care about the seating plan either but I'm doing it because I love the idea of the sanddollars or starfish as the seating cards in a sand tray.

Echo2 where do you have your reception dinner? I know you said it rained so inside right? I find the whole wedding manual thing confusing. You got the basic wedding package then payed for the site and meals separately?

I totally hear you on the booking thing! I'm getting so annoyed which I know I shouldn't but........! One friend offering help--"what can I do to help?" She hasn't returned the paperwork to the TA yet so she is not booked!!! LOL Unfortunately don't think everyone looks at it like we do---we are the only ones who feels the urgency, to them it still months away!! LOL PS I didn't even do invites or save the dates, who am I to complain....LOL!

We have been looking at suits for that very reason....they will soon be out of season. I think we are leaning towards khakis with a linen shirt as well, but maybe a colored shirt. We did find a website that looks promising called islandimporter.com. They will do shirts in custom order colors, kids sizes too! Prices are very reasonable.

Are we able to bring in an outside DJ? Does it work the same way as the photographer. Definately would like to hear more on this.

Hey guys! I'm getting married on 10/2/10 at Dreams Puerto Aventuras! You guys having been chatting for awhile here---I feel very late....LOL! You guys are awesome---so organized and prepared. Got my dress first day out brought it home---just got lucky I guess!! Got a bunch of decorations, OOT bags (nothing to go in them yet) and CD tins----I've got to get moving!!! I way behind the "slackers". Thanks for being here. No one, even FI, wants to talk about the wedding all the time---so glad I have you guys.

Echo2, OMG as much obsessing/planning/more obsessing no matter what....the one thing we have absolutely no control of is mother nature---believe me if I thought there was something to do about it, I'd give it a try. Hey everyone! I'm getting married at DPA on 10/2/10. So thrilled to have this site. Karen you gave me such relief with your postive post of your wedding. I got some wedding pictures from Jacy last week and have been feeling I might have made the wrong choice on resorts. Trying to read lots of positives.

I'm a newbie! Just getting started......we are hoping to have a November 2010 wedding in Mexico! Looking at the Dreams resorts...cancun and down the riviera. Looking for a travel agent who can get things started quickly.....any suggestions? My sister and I are happy we found this site! Sally
