  1. Hi to all the newbies and welcome to BDW this site will be a god send to you believe me. Kerry, it wasn't easy to get upgraded. Our room (family suite) was meant to have two proper beds put in it but instead it had a queen sized bed and a sofa bed, it took alot of moaning to the reps. Then the next day they came up to jay and said they would move us on the 4th day to the honeymoon suite. It was well worth the moaning though as the view was amazing from the honeymoon suite. Well ive been DIYing again, went out yesterday to get a guest book but couldn't find one i liked so i havce made one. what do you think?
  2. Hi Jessie They couldn't upgrade us as the room wasn't available straight away. I got the water beads off of eBay and took them with me, then asked at my first meeting if they had vases I could borrow, I didnt get charged for them or charged for setting things up. I only booked essential things before going photographer (but I emailed them direct to arrange times etc), spa, flowers, menu then I sorted out the rest when I got there. Hope this helps.
  3. We've got our AHR this weekend I'm looking forward to it get to wear my dress again!! We are having it at Lords Golf & Country Club in Essex, we have 230 people coming so it should be a great night. I've brought fish bowls (from asda reduced to £3 bargain) for my centrepieces that I'm putiing pink waterbeads in then filling with water and putting a pink gerbera floating on top. I have pink and black scatter crystals for the tables. Post box all done, just need to get ribbon for my cake knife. Still trying to decide if should do a sweet stand or not, just all more money! So just got to pick my dress up from being mended and hope that our rings return in time. We had to send them back as after a week they were scratched really badly. Hope all you ladies are doing okay with your planning. God I miss that feel really lost since I've been back from Mexico.
  4. I got the box off of eBay and decorated it myself, the other Michelle gave me the letters.
  5. Hi ladies I finally done my post box thanks to Michelle for the lettering.

  9. Hi Ladies I have written this 4 times now and every time the computer freezes and I loose it arrrhhhh Anyway i'm now a happily married women Well to start with all you ladies getting married at Sensatori you are very lucky ladies, the resort is absoultly amazing and the staff are great. We got upgraded to the Honeymoon suite on our 3rd day as they had allocated us the wrong room, the Thomsons staff were great there. Our room was 4332 and we had a lovely view of the beach so I got to watch alot of weddings before ours. We had our blood tests at 9am the day after our arrival then another meeting at 1pm. We were gutted as we had to change our witnesses as they needed to send our info of before our original witnesses arrived even though my OS WC had said it was fine. Our wedding was the only wedding on our date which was great as on some days there was 3/4 weddings a day. After watching some other weddings we decided to move ours from the beach to the rooftop. Our reasons were because the beach was quite small and you had alot of random walkers by who didnt care if a wedding was going on and people all stood up the top watching (if you get married on the beach ask them to make sure the top is clear for you or you'll end up with the spectators in your photos) where as the roof was totally private even though it did cost us an extra £1000 . We then kept changing our reception from the Zavaz Plaza to the beach then back to the Zavaz Plaza. The day before I had my acrylic nails done in the salon, this was lovely a bit of time on my own. The morning of the wedding my bridesmaids and me went for champagne breakfast together in Spoons, this was a nice start to the day. Then at 11am my mum and I went to the spa, my mum had a manicure (included in my package) and I had a pedicure, hair and makeup done. I didnt have my hair or make up trial as I didnt want to stress if i didnt like it and I totally didnt need to worry. They had books of different hair styles and I took my tiara and diamonte pins with me. At midday my bridesmaids came and joined me in the spa they used the Bridal suite to get ready in, where they done their own hair and make up, they loved the all getting ready together and of course we had more champagne. Also they were able to use their hair sprays and one of my bridesmaids had a black eye (long story) and the spa lady covered it up properly for her. They left me at 1:45 and went back to mine to order room service. I got back at 2pm and went mad as my room had still not been cleaned and I had called them at 9am to tell them I had a photographer coming at 2:30. My mum came and started getting me in my dress and the photographer arrived, 2:50 the girls were out on the balcony having room service yep I was meant to be getthing married at 3pm there was no way i was going to be on time!! Well after a mad rush and my mum rushing back to get herself ready, photos on the balcony we left my room at 3:15. I then had to walk through the pool area with everyone cheering, clapping and taking photos the nerves started to kick in. When I got to the roof the bridesmaids and pageboys music started (Take That Greatest Day) and the tears started aswell, I started to cry uncontrollably, my girls left me with tears in their eyes and then it was just me & my dad and my music started (Bruno Mars Just the way you are) desperatley trying to stop crying we made our way down the aisle, as soon as i saw Jay beaming I couldnt stop smiling. The service was performed in spanish and translated into english this was lovely, we then had a Sand Ceremony which Harry & Hollie joined us in. The whole thing was shown on a weblink aswell which some of our friends got to see (we also got a copy on dvd as we asked for it). We then had some photos on the roof before going down to the beach for more photos. On the way to the beach my son stood on my dress and ripped my dress, my mum quickly tucked it all up (good old mum). We then went to the mexican bar and had a drink before heading to the Zavaz Plaza area for our reception. We decorated the tables with pink scatter crystals, maracas, then i had vases with pink water beadsin and the bridesmaids bouquets, I had pink light up ballons hanging around the pergola it looked lovely. we went for the Family Style dinner and wow it was amazing and so much of it. We had DJ Doremixx he was fantastic, and the balloons, masks and glow sticks he gives out went down a treat. He had everyone up dancing all night long, I didn't want the day to end! Our first dance we did a evolution dance, we started off with Savage Gardens 'I knew I loved you before I met you' then broke into various funny songs (kung fu fighter, ymca, mc hammer etc) this went down a treat erveryone laughed so much. The staff were great, they remembered everyones drinks and made sure they had a refill as soon as they had finished, they brought us various shot throughout the night. After it had finished alot of us went up to the Mojito Bar and carried on dancing and drinking. One word for the whole day 'Excellente'. I will put some photos on but if you want to see more add me one facebook Michelle Herbert, and if you want to ask anything ask away.

I've seen a few weddings not sure if it's anyone from here. We have doremix as our Dj met them the other day they seem very nice, and we're using Carbie so will let you know how that goes.

  15. Hi all newbies welcome to the forum, this place is a godsend. Mellisa we have stayed at Moon Palace before it is lovely, but very very big and it is far from the cancun town. Not trying to put you off but these are things I wish i'd knew before we went there. Hi girls, I need some help, i'm really struggling on what to get as gifts for everyone. I got the bridesmaids their jewellery that I have given them already, but want to get them something small. Also what did everyone get their mums, dads pageboys. God i'm running out of time!!!
  16. Hi I am having my reception at Zavaz Plaza. We are doing minimal decoration, maybe ask for fairy lights on our onsite meeting. My centerpieces are going to be my bridesmaids bouquets and i'm going to buy some vases and have the pink gelebeads in them, and bubbles on the tables. We are having DJ Doremix as he was cheaper than onsite DJ and had great reviews. We are having the Family style dinner as it had great variety.

  19. Well the time has come to post my planning thread Jamie and I met when we were 5yrs old, we lived in the same street and use to play together. I always thought he was pretty cool then as he had real pictures in frames and not posters in his play shed. Well he moved house when he was 10 and our friendship drifted apart. When I was 22 both of our friends started hanging out together and it wasn’t long before the flirting started. Within a couple of weeks Jamie and I began going out. After our first holiday abroad together in Mexico I fell pregnant and we had our son Harry who is now 11. We moved into our house two months before having Harry. Christmas day 2006 we’d opened all our presents when Jamie & Harry disappeared upstairs, they came back with a shoe-box sized wrapped present. When I opened it both Jamie and Harry got down on one knee and said ‘will you marry me’. I burst into tears saying ‘yes’ then immediately phoned my mum to tell her the news. I planned on a short engagement but Jamie had other plans: extention, holidays, oh yes and another baby. In 2008 we had our daughter Hollie who is now 3. So with no more excuses in 2009 we decided that 2011 would be the year that we got married and OMG where has that 2 years of planning gone!!!!! We always said that we would get married abroad (can’t be doing with the hassle here). So we got the brochures and went round the world but kept coming back to Mexico, very apt as it was our first holiday abroad. So we agreed Mexico it is and we just fell in love with the Sensatori Resort. Well we have 23 of us going which we are over the moon about! Everyone I want at my wedding is going. I have 4 big bridesmaids (my 3 cousins and Jamie sister) Hollie is our flower girl (and bound to steal the show on the day), my nephew Oliver is my page boy and Harry is Jamie’s best man (can’t wait for the speech he’s been watching Gavin and Stacey to pick up tips from Smithy!!) We get married on Tuesday 2nd August on the beach at the Sensatori Resort and we have our AHR on Sunday 28th August at Lords Golf and Country Club. Okay now where do we start, the most important thing: THE DRESS Phoenix Gowns Ltd T700 THE TIARA THE SHOES Pink Paradox Sherbert - dyed pink the same as the bridesmaids dresses THE RINGS JEWELLERY THE BRIDESMAID DRESSES Romantica from Devon - Shandy THE FLOWER GIRL Brenda Lorraine own deisgn THE GROOM & BOYS WELCOME BROCHURE VENUE BOUQUETS Brides bouquet and Bridesmaid Bouquets AHR INVITES www.pocketfolds.co.uk AHR CAKE Well ladies thats it for the planning thread, I hope you liked it!!! 11 days till we leave and 20 days till the wedding WOOHOO!!!!!!

  23. Hi All Well I survived London or should I say London survived us!! I was greated at the station by the most ugliest blow up doll ever we named him 'Keith the teeth'.I had a lovely veil with card with naked men all over it (stars covering their willies) and a sash with 'Bride to Be Jay's Bitch' on it all the other girls had 'Hen Party Mo's Bitch' (my nickname). On the train we had cans of Pimms and bottles of Asti, so a lovely start to the weeekend. The cocktail masterclass was awsome, we made 7 different cocktails I had 2 of each and lots of shots from chilli to jellybean flavour. As you can imagine we were all very merry, just as well they served us up some lovely food aswell followed by another 2 jugs of cocktails. Our hotel was lovely we all had 'Prestige suites' our room was huge so thats where we all drank before going to Carwash. Carwash was very small but the music was great we all dresses up 80's style. I had an absoultley great weekend and all the girls were great. I had my dress fitting on tuesday and it has to be taking in 5inches which I thought was fab.
  24. Hi Girlies Charmaine I love the bridesmaid dresses lovely colour and what a bargin, and the flowers are beautiful love the feathers. Michelle your bouquet was stunning Well Monday was a busy day. I picked up Hollie's dress, brought a tear to my eye she looked like a princess. Then I had to take mum to pick up her fasinator which she had made to go with her dress, it finishes off her outfit perfectly. The that night the girls had their fitting. Today I took my son Harry to the airport as he's went off to Sweden to play football for his team, that made me cry. Ive got my dress fitting next tuesday cant wait to put my dress on again. AARRRHHHHH This weekend is my hen weekend 80's mania
