  1. Oh J, I am loving my new find. I thought they didnt really have any wedding stuff but when I went into the archives they have what they call "wedding roundup". It has all kinds of goodies in there. I found the cutest water bottle labels and tears of joy packets DIY. Nice! thanks for sharing yours, I'm going to check it out right now.
  2. Ok ladies, as you know I am always trolling the web for interesting/unique DIY. I just came across this website that posts a DIY project everyday. Some of it has nothing to do with weddings directly but can be definitely used, such as children's crafts (if you are having children at the wedding), DIY mustaches, etc. I'm still exploring it, so I don't know all that is there as yet but it does have some interesting stuff. http://www.oneprettything.com/

But in this case I would tell you to step back and just say to him, honey if you are so angry at your parents then you need to speak to them about the situation. She already doesn't like you, you sending that email will, as is said so eloquently above, fuel the fire. Good luck!
  4. I love reading reviews and looking at pics. Thanks so much for sharing yours. Congratulations.
  5. You are definitely correct. Luckily I get to see my FI every 6-8 weeks or so. He is originally from NJ also but moved to TX for work (just before we started dating). But he has to come back to NJ every 4-6 (or sometimes 6- weeks for his military commitments. So even though we only get to see each other at night after his drills, it's still something. @ Sax Lady You guys will definitely make it through. Just a thought, did you guys apply for a fiance visa so that he could be here with you until you get married? You have 90 days to be married after the visa is issued. I bet you've covered all the processes, but just thought I would ask.

    Hello all!

Hey Sarah, welcome to the forum and congrats to you and Jon. Good luck with your planning!
  10. 10K on east coast wont go very far at all depending on your guest list. We were at 10K and then had to move up to 15K. I wont go any higher. If I have to, then its just gonna be us at a fancy restaurant with family. I'm trying to have a $15K wedding. We are having between 50-75 guests. Knowing this info, we had to first figure out how much we could afford a plate and then go from there. I think the maximum we can do is about $85-90 a plate. You still have to factor in taxes and gratuity to come up with the final number for the venue. To cut down on costs you can have your wedding on a Thursday, Friday or Sunday. I hope this helps. I know it is really tough. I wanted to be married in the St. Vincent and the Grenadines on the beach at my aunt's house. But because of the same situation you're in I'm settled for Cape May. It's beautiful so I'm content I guess.

  17. Hey Nicola, thanks so much for the words of wisdom from a former LDR. It is difficult and I totally hear you about relying on work and commitment schedules to see each other. But as you say. In the end it is worth it cause if you truly love each other and work at it, it will all come about.
