  1. Good ideas ladies! I've been thinking about doing fake flowers, but I didn't know about the service fee for bringing my own decorations. I still haven't heard from Valeria, but I guess she is going down her list of things to do! The extras definitely add up quickly! We are doing the basic chairs and having to add additional ones for the ceremony. The chairs look nice either way, so I felt good just keeping them plain. We are doing the private reception and we are still discussing decorations. Not sure, if I will just do the votives or bring some of my own stuff.
  2. I emailed Valeria Monday to ask about my bouquet and I haven't heard back either. I agree, I usually get prompt responses back. A week definitely sounds like a long time. I would email her again because I would be concerned as well.
  3. Help! Okay, I have 7 bridesmaids and I really don't want to spend $50 for each of their bouquets (or more). Is everyone else doing bouquets or something different? I was thinking about parasols, but wasn't sure about how that would look?
  4. I'm thinking about doing parasols for my outdoor wedding on the beach and have all my bridesmaids carry one instead of a bouquet. Is anyone nervous or concerned that they will tear or not be sturdy enough due to the wind or something? Are people just using them for photos or ceremony as well? Thank you so much for all your feedback!
  5. Family Friendly Resorts nearby for guests who still want to bring kids So we picked the EDR due to the fact it was ADULT ONLY...now I have people wanting to bring their kids and are asking about nearby resorts....I know my TA can assist with this, but I wanted to know if anyone else was having to deal with the day passes etc...for those who insist to bring their kids. Any advice would be great! Thanks!
  6. Good Morning Everyone! I just picked up the magazine, "Destination Weddings & Honeymoons" and there is a short article about a wedding that took place at EDR in 2008. It was a beautiful wedding and had some great ideas that I thought I would share with you all: For Party Favors: The family went into Playa de Carmen before the wedding and picked up maracas. I thought this was super cute! You could do a lot with them and you wouldn't have to worry about getting them down there since you got them in Mexico. For Escort Cards: The bride got sand dollars and put everyone's name on the sand dollar and table number and displayed them in box filled with sand. (Is anyone else doing escort cards?) Bring a Polaroid Camera for the reception, which I thought was super cute and their photographer implemented their photos with the Polaroid photos. Well I hope this helps! Have a great day!

Hey Jasmin! This is what I was given back in October for our June 11,2010 wedding: 3nights/4days Single Occupancy: $712.24 Double Occupancy: $552.16 per person YES! Please keep posting everyone. This has been a huge help on things to think about and things to do! Hope you all have a great weekend!

She was not on top of it and was entirely too unresponsive and careless with my guests for my tastes. So I called the manager and spoke to her personally and I was changed to Brittany Schiffler who so far seems to be awesome. It's stressful when the person assigned to you is not thorough. But luckily they are good about reassigning you and now I'm much happier. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm happy to help. :-) I'm so glad I found this forum!! I've had such a nightmare dealing with my TA from Wedding Destinations and Planning | Destination Weddings .com. I've noticed Jasmin you had to change your TA and I think I need to do the same. Currently, I have David Victor and he has been zero help other than booking our rooms. He hasn't helped us coordinate anything and I was wondering what all you had your TA do for you? We are going to have about 40-60 guests for our June 11, 2010 wedding and it looks like you have gotten some great deals. How much are your guests paying for 3nights/4days for double occupancy? I don't feel like I've gotten the best deal. Sorry for the long post, I'm just so grateful that I now have other brides to talk to about EDR and destinationweddings.com
  9. Would I be eligible for this promotion if my wedding is June 11, 2010? My TA told me this was ONLY for 2011/2012 weddings.
  10. HOWDY EVERYONE!!! I feel so lucky to have found this forum!!! I've been having such a nightmare dealing with my TA. Kathleen June 11, 2010 El Dorado Royal Hope everyone is doing well!
