I'm getting confused by all these add -on. I basically want three things 1. wedding ceremony at gazebo 2. free dinner at a restaurant (decorated with my table cloths & sashes etc) 3. beach party with a lighted dance floor and DJ and cake cutting I don't see why I have to pay extra for open bar at an all inclusive resorts that just sounds nuts!!! I mean can I have a beach party and guest just walk over to the bar and order their drinks?

thanks ladies, I was reading some other post and found a thread that list reputable TA just a little overwhelmed with all the choices. I'm so use to booking things online.

I have been reading these threads and I see that alot of the resorts charge extra per person fees? now it seems as though it just for private receptions , but is it just me but I find nuts to pay extra at an all inclusive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean the whole reason why I want to do a destination wedding is to save money, not end up paying for for all the extras I like majestic colonial but it doesn't even look like they include a bouquet in their package and outside of that is 65.00....so what I am I really paying for in a wedding package that cost 1200$ boy was I wrong when I thought destination weddings would be stress free!!!

Ashleed do you happen to have the rates for Nora B? I like photo souvenir and but its not a good thing to take so long to get back to people, but I am always one to give the benefit of the doubt. They probably get alot of e-mails so patience seems to be the key with these vendors?

I just got engaged and now the planning begins. I want to do a destination wedding , but im so nervous about how it will turn out. I need an all inclusive resort, But my question how do you book the rooms for your guest Do you go though a travel agent (if this is the case do they just organize hotel rates and the guest have to buy their flights separately? ) Or do guest just buy their own hotel and airfare through travel sights like hotwire or expedia?? I think I came across on post that said they booked with a travel agent and the guest were able to pay down their cost as they got kind of like a layaway plan but It didn't mention if its was only the hotel rooms Im just all confused on how to get low rates for my guest and the easiest way for them to pay for it? please I need help from all the brides that have already gotten married.... thanks

1. Merced Manning 2. dont know 3.still looking I just got engaged march 19 , so Im new to this whole wedding thing. I have been looking around and planning some stuff. I was going with a traditional one at home but even on a budget ( just a ceremony and dinner at a restaurant) with all the other stuff will still be around 10K and be honest I want a wedding as most women do, but sometimes it hard to justify giving so much money to others. Im only 26 and its just me and my fiance paying to be honest we dont have the money to spend Anywho here comes the idea of a destination wedding. I can get a great honeymoon and wedding in one and hopefully family and friends will come, and at a real budget I can afford. So I hope this forum will help me in deciding the best bang for my buck.

This post is so helpful. I just didn't realize that even out of state -hence other countries photography would cost just as much as if I had my wedding back home in NY. I am looking to save money by having destination wedding, not spend it just because. I guess no matter what wedding photography is just expensive. At least this post lets me know what I can and can't afford to help. I absolutely love this forum!!
