Sorry, didn't catch the name of the hotel this was in front. Its just a water-feature in front of the gates to the hotel. The area is pretty run down, I really don't think you would want to go there without someone who knows their way around.

Bryjenbry, jrod07, ladies, here is the link to all my wedding photos. We had a photoshoot with HDC, so the photos with one wedding dress, like in examples I posted are the ones they did (the 1st photos in the album are the ones): https://picasaweb.google.com/vovkina007/OurDominicanWedding02# We weren't allowed by the hotel (for whatever reason) to have HDC on site on our wedding day, so we had a photo shoot in a near by hotel, where the waterfall is. I know that she is a Russian girl from Canada. I saw some very positive reviews on one of the Russian wedding websites. I love her photography style as well, sadly I didn't come across her website last year, when I was looking for a photographer.

We've used HDC Photo as well, simply put - AMAZING experience, great photos and pleasant people to work with! Their prices are pretty nice as well. I'm suggesting them to anyone who is interested, because I remember how difficult it was to pick a photographer when you can't go and see them. Gotta say that TTD photos are simply the best from every wedding photo session I saw. We had our wedding in Dominican republic and used HDC photography. Here are couple of shots from our TTD.

Thanks a lot! I was thinking the same thing, remembering experience at other huge resorts where you can go from one place to another, but the wristbands are different and you can't use some of the facilities... Will look into that for sure.

Thanks Oryx. That is the same info I've got. Ladies, anyone knows about the "day pass"? What does it actually mean and who has to ge it? if we have guests staying at the Colonial, but we are getting married at Elegance, do they need that "day pass"? (i hope not)

I only saw the Colonial thread, thought Elegance is still here LOL Maybe we should open new one for Elegance as well...or rename the updated thread, so both Resorts are there.

I will try not to have a lot of "extras" with me, but I was planning to put it all in a suit-case. For most of the stuff I don't even have receipots anymore.

My biggest worry about the DW is the Reception after the actual wedding ceremony. It seems that even at the AI resort there are costs for the reception, which sucks and doesn't make sense to me, but they don't go away just because I don't agree with them LOL We do have most of the stuff already, such as rings, flowers, guest gifts...I'm thinking of getting a new dress, that is DW friendly, the one I have right now is going to be very hot. I would really love to stay below 5K for the actual wedding and reception at the Dominican and really do hope it will be possible.

Oryx I think because I'm a newbie I can't PM yet (unless, i'm blind and didn't find the PM button), but I would be interested in chatting about the Photographer with you.

Ladies, i'm currently trying to work out details for the reception after the wedding. I don't want to spend more then I have to and was thinking about a regular restaurant at the Elegance Resort because of that. But then, thinking that I will probably have less then 20 guests coming with us, what could be the next best choice price-wise to have a private reception? Since we are Russians, drinking will be involved, I did want to have a reception somewhere closer to the bar, so I wouldn't have to pay fro drinks in All Inclusive Resort...or am I being too naive now and we will end up paying a lot of $$$ for the private reception? I will be reading this thread more and hopefully will find mor einfo, but if you can share any information on what you are doing I will appreciate it. Thanks!

The Wedding was BEAUTIFUL! Congratulations! I would also love to know how you ladies got in contact with that Restaurant. I'm not sure how many people we will have and what our Reception will be like, but at the same time I don't want to spend all those $$$ in All Inclusive for Drinks, that should be included...I mean, that is one crazy thought!
