  1. Wow, I just got some exciting news! My wedding photos are going to be put in a 2011 bridal calendar, on stylemepretty.com and a video montage up on my TA's website!!!

     

    My photog deserves all the credit, she did an amazing job. I would love to show you all some pics she took of the trash the dress and the wedding, but I'm having issues uploading them on the site. All of the one's i've posted so far are from the resort photographer. Cecilia Dumas is amazing!! Now she is going to get a chance for her business to grow through all of this, I'm so happy for her!

    She said it didn't matter. You just give them the names. If it is a vendor though like a hair stylist you will have to pay for them. Unless it is family or friend in which case you can probably get away with it.
    The lady who did them did an amazing job. I can give you that info, just PM me.

    No, I was thinking about registering it with the deeds/records only because if I happen to lose it down the road they can always reprint it for me at a fee, like a birth certificate.

    You can chose up to 3 people that you want to have access to your hotel at least 3 hours prior to the wedding for free. Make sure when you get there you tell them this. Zulma gave me this information when I was down there...would have helped earlier, but at least that rule exists!

    I went to the social security office and they want it in Spanish, because it has a official seal on it. they translate it there for free to determine if it is real. DO NOT PAY FOR THE EXTRA COST TO TRANSLATE IT! I know a lot of girls on here were talking about that, but you don't have to. I had no problems at all!

    The photographer from the resort did take some pics of us too, and they came out good. I liked my photographer way better, but it could be because we spent more time with her. I think 2 hours is not enough time. I only say that because if you plan on them taking any pics during cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc. then you will need to rush it all in the very beginning of the reception or else they will miss it. We faked our cake cutting so we could get some good pics and then did our bouquet toss, etc. early so we wouldn't have to pay for more time. It worked out pretty well.

    I got my flowers from the resort (it was the first option on the catalog with the roses). The girls flowers I got from a vendor back home, they were real touch flowers.

    AH, yes I forgot to mention this in the review!!! So you need to be a beachfront walkout or higher. The reason everyone booked oceanview was for that chef's plate!! Unbelievable.

    Also I don't know which one of you guys it was, but I could swear that there was someone waving and yelling during our ceremonyhuh.gif Was one of you in a balcony room near the gazebo?? I told my husband (lol...I love typing that) that maybe it was one of my online buddies!

    OMG, that was you!!! I was so angry because they totally did not do my hair how I wanted it. I told her I didn't like it and she looked at me like I had one eye. She did the makeup well, but I was so sad about my hair. Once I got out of the chair I decided to not care or else it would ruin my day. Not to mention I didn't figure out until the middle of the reception that I forgot to put my veil on!!! How does that even happen huh.gif I was in such a rush and worried about everyone else that I totally forgot.
    Yes, sorry about the blue petals frown.gif I didn't even think about the wedding after ours! Oops.

    Our guests only got stopped at the Royal front entrance because 2 of them were not wearing pants, they had shorts on. If they are eating at the royal I guess they need to wear pants (almost all of the restaurants are like that). We just had to get special permission or have them change.

    LOL! I can't believe she is like that! They are really strict at The Royal about people from the Gran coming in, but if they say the wedding party they are with then they are allowed to come 30 minutes prior to the event.

    A surprise that I didn't know and found out once I was there was that Zulma told me I could have 3 people from the Gran or whoever I chose to come into my room on the wedding day 3 HOURS BEFORE THE WEDDING!
    Whathuh.gif That was something that would have been useful prior to me being there! I was so relieved though because my dad was at the other resort. So for you brides that have special people at the other resort...know that this is allowed!

    Did you check in your trash folder? Also, did you do a search on your computer for the file? Go to Start and then Search, then files or folders. If it was once on there it couldn't just disappear. Even if you did accidentally trash it, then you would find it in the trash bin icon.

    May Brides- So happy your time at the royal was so wonderful and your weddings went so smoothly!

    Should you bring beach towels from home or does the Royal provide plenty of towels to use on the beach and at the pool?

    They definitely have parasols! Pink and Turqouis for sure. I actually have one that is for sale so you can get an idea of the look. They do say Playa Del Carmen on them which is perfect! It is listed under Parasol...

    Cake I picked the tres leches and it was unbelievable. Nobody really wanted to eat it though because they feed you so much during dinner and dessert. The food was so good that everyone ate it all and then left no room for cake. Those who did try it, including myself, loved it though. They said as long as you aren't doing a multi layered cake then it won't melt at all, and it didn't. It was outside for at least an hour and didn't move.

    The spring salad with goat cheese was surprisingly good. If you aren't a fan of goat cheese though then I would stay away from it because it is overpowering. The beef was delicious (going off of the luxury menu). It was very large and cooked perfectly! So yummy!!! The asparagus mint soup (princess soup) so delicious as well. I was actually surprised by this. It seemed like most people ate all of theirs. The dessert was the cheesecake with chocolate, and it was devine! I loved every last bit! One of my bridesmaids was so impressed that she ordered it for roomservice every day after that.

    They provide SO MANY beach towels. The only plus to giving everyone one is that when you lay them out on the chairs yours is distinct and they can't steal your chair. If I were to do it differently I wouldn't have brought them. Instead what I saw was useful was thermal mugs. I know weird but their drinks seriously melt so fast from being in the sun, that those who were smart and brought their own did not have this problem at all! Also useful was the room key and tip holders. I got the ones that you could zip and put those wrist coils on them and everyone loved them. Very useful!

    They actually do airbrushing for makeup which i've done before and I LOVED!!! They do a free trial, pick you up from your resort and drop you back off, and even feed you. seriuosly cheap too!

    The bridesmaid flowers were real touch flowers. They were from a vendor back home. My flowers were from the Royal.

    Bridesmaid dresses were great! At the end of the night they knotted them and stuck it under to make it short. Sort of funny!
