How far in advance is everyone planning to send out Save the Dates for the destination wedding??

ooo forgot to mention...I also bought my wedding dress!! It was accidental, in that I had just started shopping, but I found 'the one' and if i didn't buy it off the rack i wouldn't have been able to afford it at all...its a fabulous a-line with a sweetheart strapless neckline and is entirely ivory Spanish lace. Love love love it! Yay! So glad not to be the only bride with a 2011 wedding date! Its sooo far off still but its never too early to start planning and dreaming! So far I've done what you ladies did, started collecting pictures and ideas and marking browser pages. I also picked up a few wedding planning books and have been reading through those and lots of magazines! Decided on a destination (Riviera Maya) and now trying to choose the right resort (leaning towards Excellent Riviera Cancun). TA Lindsay from this forum is already working on quotes for me (she's fantastic so far!) and I'm so excited I just want to get it all planned pronto! Its hard to be patient...I'm sure you ladies can relate! Where/When is everyone getting married??

Hello everyone! I'm new to the site and am thrilled to say my fiance and I have chosen DPA for our wedding in June of 2011. I've read over most of the posts on this thread - wow, so much useful information!! Its great to have a place to chat with people in the same position as me and to get lots of support and 'insider' info on the resort and planning process. Thanks to all of you for posting your stories, pictures and ideas! I haven't contacted the resort or a TA yet but plan to soon - hopefully we can get June 11 for our date, as it has special meaning for us. 2 big questions to start me off... does anyone know if the resort offers scuba diving?? Very important to us. We also really want to take our guests on a catamaran sail after the ceremony, does anyone know if the tour company at DPA has a sailing excursion? Thanks in advance, and I'm looking forward to chatting with all of you in the coming months!!

Hi Everyone! My name is Amy and I'm getting married in Tulum Mexico on June 11 2011 - if all the planning goes well that is! My fiance and I have families on opposite ends of Canada (literally) and have decided a destination wedding is the fairest option for all, and we've always dreamed of being married on a beach and then sailing off into the sunset. If anyone has any tips or trips for Mayan Riviera weddings please let me know!!
