  1. I've found one!!! He's located in St. Catherine but he works Island wide! Ever Ready Video Production & Digital Service! er_everready@yahoo.com Cell: 389-9033 That what's written on my invoice but I've only done business with him face to face, so let me know if either of those do not work for you. He was referred to me by my cousin who keeps events a few times a year and she has been using his service for a quiet a few years now. He gave me a DVD copy of his work and I was pleased.
  2. Hello boardies! It's been ages since I've been on here and I figured we'd pay you all a visit and catch up with the board! For those who do not know -- we are of Jamaican heritage. Both of our families are originally from Jamaica and myself and our 2 children are the only ones born here. Since his family cannot travel, we decided to go "home" for our union. We are getting married at a local church in Runaway Bay and our reception will be at Coyaba Garden in Ochi. We wanted to do as much as we could on our own to minimize extra costs. I will admit, I was late with just about all my milestones for more reasons than one, but the best reason of all was the birth of our 2nd daughter this past July. Fast forward to today. We sent STD's in Sept, but everyone knows I was still on Maternity leave so people were booking and offering their assistance -- I've got the best fam and friends ever! I'm still sending out formal invitations as we speak! I say hey better late than never -- altho the RSVP date is 1 MARCH! We recently went to JA on a planning trip. WE GOT LUCKY!!...like I stated before, we were planning to try to do this on our own from the States but we were introduced to a wonderful pair of ladies who are going above AND beyond for us! The initial lady who we contacted, Norma Jarrett works at the party rental place we are renting from in St Ann's Bay. She put us in contact with her good friend, a florist/planner named Charmaine (she works at the floral shop located at half moon) ABSOLUTELY a pleasure working with these two women! They keep us on point and help us cut costs. They are great. Norma's taken our wedding on as if it were her own! I'm super excited and can't wait to marry my best friend again (we had a civil union early last year when I was preggo with our youngest ladybug). So how's it going folks?? Aren't these exciting time????? -CHAKLIT

I haven't seen any bad reviews about TWJ. I'm at the Coyaba too...who did you use, if you don't mind me asking?? You can PM me your response, if you like! Thanks!

We chose an off-site venue b/c we are locals and we need to be able to do our own thing and not have hotel limitations. Also, the day pass issue that's with most of the hotels..and since we're on a budget, we have to be able to do our own catering.

I knew Keith was our photographer when I went to his blog and saw Mesita's (a fellow BDW bride) wedding pics. My breath was literally taken away! So we hired him! Keith Cephus Photography "Your Choice for Photographic Excellence" His prices are up there, but he will negotiate. His calendar fills up quickly so if you want to book him, contact him now. Nice work!!

Cheers, Robyn I'm using one of the BDW TA's -- Maureen for our travel services. The wedding planning aspect is going to be my biggest headache. Since the Coyaba Garden is a venue that only gives you just that...a venue, we have to source out every chair, table, plate, spoon and fork! It gives me headaches just thinking about it...for more reasons than one! The biggest being, he's Jamaican and I'm from Jamaican parents, so when we see the quotes of things, we know ppl are giving us non-local pricing. He wants to go to down there and deal with folks face to face. I've been giving some referrals for planners, but I've yet to reach out to anyone...I guess I will soon.

Thanks everyone, Robyn Nevery heard of it, but I just went to their website....and the pics are amazing....It's right on main street and I've never noticed it!

We are going to purchase weather insurance, but I believe we all are going to have beautiful weather!! What's weather insurance?? That's a new one that I have not heard of before...
  16. Forgot to mention, we are working on a website and her contact info is there...but we have a number of guests who are not online... Thanks in advance!
  17. Hey Ladies, I am ordering some STD magnets from magnetstreet.com -- they come with envelopes...but I'm looking for a quick way to distribute my TA's contact info with them. I'm wondering if I should just quickly create some business cards with her contact info or should I do some sort of infomational brochure...just not sure what to do. We're about a 11 months out, and I've got guests who are already in Jamaica, so I would include the TA's contact info for my non-jamaican guests of course. Any suggestions are more than welcome!!
  18. I need to get on the ball...I'm here dilly-dallying. We're only staying at the RIU in April...and it looks like the place will start to fill up soon!!
  19. You guys think I could spray paint a radioflyer wagon, silver?? I wonder how that would come out...geez we only need it for 30 minutes! What will we do with it after that?....absolutely nothing!

You can call back. me: When will you get the rates? her: November or december. you can call back then. me: with a raised voice and sense of wonder: November or December? I started to walk away as I was quite shocked at this rude behavior. Another receptionist said did you give her a card? again she said: she can call back I took off almost in tears. I told all of my guests and I was so upset taht I didn't look at her name tag. My FI was really upset after we got back to our hotel and I told him what happened. He didn't understand at first because when I'm upset, I can't put a sentence together. Back in March, I tried to inquiry about having a wedding there...I was driving a rental and I told the guard at the gate, that's all I was trying to do...this reject told me that registered guests only can pass "his" gate. I tried to explain to him - how do people get to register if you won't let them passed "your" gate. He said call back some other time...I said don't worry...I will take my business elsewhere. Growing up, Jamaica Grande was the hot spot...it's fell off over the years and it's unfortunate b/c it's located at a prime spot. Needless to say, were going to stay at Riu-Ochi and have our wedding at a local church and reception at the Coyaba Gardens.
