I know that it’s going to hurt him to not have his dad at our wedding, and I wanted to surprise him with some sort of a memorial for his dad at the wedding. I’ve seen those little photo charms that go on your bouquet, but I really don’t think given the circumstances that that would be appropriate (FI’s mom has made some less than savory comments about my relationship with Dale and his opinion about me, even though they had been divorced for over 20 years at the time of his passing), and I don’t want to upset any members of the family by doing that. Are there any other suggestions of something that I could do for FI so that he can have his father be a special part of our day? It would mean so much for us to be able to honor his father, while still being able to enjoy our wedding day and not have it be filled with sadness over the loss. What about having maybe cuff links, a watch, or a charm inscribed with his father name or initials thats only really for him to see or know. I have seen the memorial candels...even ones that float in a glass cylinder with a name etched on outside of glass. Maybe a memory book (frm snap fish)with pics of him and his father that you could give him before wedding. His dad will always be there in spirit and he will be happy that you remembered his father. I'm not gonna have my mom at my wedding and its hard! I'm doing the photo charm for my flowers. I think if I saw one of those memorial picture frames I would loose it! I wanted to do a slide show but since everything will most likely be outside I X that out as well. I will def. keep you in mind if I think of anything.

I just have to sign the contract and block some rooms. I'm debating between Sapphire or Diamond collection. Blue and silver are going to be my colors for the wedding, so I guess both would work. I'm planning to have a private cocktail/hors d'oeuvres right after the ceremony for about an hour. I guess in the meantime, new hubby and I will be taking pictures around the resort. After the cocktail, the guests will go to a private reception (debating indoor or outdoor bc if it's an outdoor event, it has to come to an end by 10pm) where dinner will be served. And then the party will start. During the cocktail hour, new hubby and I will be taking pics around the resort but don't want to leave the guests alone for too long. Do you think if 1 hour of photo session is enough - i'm having trouble with this. Hi ! I am getting married April 17 2010 at MP. I picked the diamond package I guess because of the color ...but you could do probably either. I just figured it was safer for me to do the diamond because my bridesmaid dresses are fushia. Congrats to you!!!
  3. I had them for mine and they came out great! I'll post the link where i ordered the bottels, boxes, sand, shells. And I need to take a pic as well I tied fushia ribbon around the neck of the bottel and in the center of the knot put a lime green austrian crystal. I filled the box with lime green crinkle cut and used coconut oil to make it smell tropical. Everyone that received them loved it...and none of them arrived broken. I added extra shells that i ordered from somewhere on-line to include mini starfish. I thought the sand looked plain so I added Martha Stewart irridescent glitter for a little shimmer. I had the message printed on shimmer paper. I tied fushia ribbon around the message in a knot...and of course put another austrian crystal in the center. The ends of the ribbon I hot glued to the bottom of the cork and covered it with a small shell to hide the glue dot. I also spray painted the cork with a little bit of shine Message Bottles oriental trading also has shells and starfish

I thought mine were creative and you def. outdid me!
  6. Wow - I bet my better 1/2 wished that I had paid $125. for a dress!!! It looks really pretty!!!

We have a photographer and it would just be weird having two photographers at the wedding. The Catholic ceremony is done in a structure (chapel) that was blessed by a priest or something like that. The only difference is it is surrounded by glass instead of being open. So I wasn't fighting with you for it since your doing a civil Honestly I wasn't catholic and for the last year I have been doing all my sacrements (hope I spelled that right) because Moon Palace required that I was to have anything sent 6 months in advanced. Who are you using for your photographer? I am really afraid that my pictures won't be what I want. I don't mind paying extra to have someone else but I think I have waited to long to book someone?
  8. My friends little brother got married there last year and they loved it! I am getting married there myself and asked her if there was anything she would have changed. She did'nt like her photography but I thought her pictures were nice. If you get the DVD of all the pics you can hire someone to touch them up so its very fixable. She also said they were having so much fun at the cocktail recp. she would have extended it for longer. I am waiting to see her video..cause she didnt like it either. Maybe she is just picky? She said you could barely hear the music in video ....but otherwise those were her only negatives.

I have been looking at outside florists in Cancun but I do not know how I would arrange it b/c you are not supposed to use outside vendors. Fake bouquets are $45 each from someone in the US, but I love fresh flowers so much. Any other suggestions? My friends little brother got married at Moon Palace last year and they took silk flowers...I did'nt even know until she told me. Check out this website they have neat stuff and its where I'm ordering mine! I rather spend money on something else when they are just gonna throw in the trash at the end of the night. I don't know people's budget, but go hard or go home. I don't want to go on vacation and have to worry about if I'll have spending money or if I can get drinks. I really didn't care if people stayed at other places, but MP has a policy that only allows 20% of your total on-site guests to be staying at other resorts....so, if I have 20 ppl staying at MP, I can only have 4 ppl staying elsewhere. My TA is trying to contact the WC at MP because when I emailed them, they really didn't understand what I was saying. So, we will see. I had a bridesmaid ( in reality 3) back out the day the money was due for her dress! Therefore our flower girl got bumped up to jr. bridesmaid because we had to still order a dress so the store wouldn't raise the prices for the other girls. The one bridesmaid who dropped out the day dress money was due said she could find a cheaper place to stay. It's like my sis said to me....don't they not realize that moon palcae includes everything frm taxes, tips, transfers to and from the airport..it's a great deal! Well I hope my guests I invited don't think the same because it will not be my problem if they cant get in! The whole point of the wedding is to hang out with your friends and family and celebrate your union...not to be at another resort somewhere else. I'm just bitter..lol but I totally understand you!

The priest (who is very nice) said he would do 2 weddings that day and thats the only reason I got it. Those people in miami office have driven me nuts! I live in miami and told her I would be more then happy to come in person and discuss since I save all my email corr. frm her...lol What package did you pick? I chose the diamond one but I am really considering hiring an outside photographer?
