His mother is also treats her 3 sons completely unequally, at the low end of the stick is my fiance. Both the other brothers are married. Got generous gifts and there is no gift in our future. My mother passed away. I think this tops it all. It is the worst way to plan a wedding...without your mom. I have been leaning on my best friend (best friend for 18 yrs) and my sister. My future mother in law isnt the easiest person to deal with and isnt exactly the person that I want to try to lean on through the wedding process. I know how hard it is to stay positive. All I think of is how this is supposed to be the best time of my life. It is never going to happen again. Its definitely hard. Try to strong and think of what your mother would want you to have and feel. That is what is getting me through it. Whatever happens with your in laws, there is nothing that can change it. Just go with what happens. That is what I have come to accept. Good luck! Thanks I really like your advice!
  2. Congrats!!! Happy planning!
  3. I sent cards ..that said will you be my bridesmaid. I also put confetti inside of wedding bells

If they are girly girls they have lip gloss with a hint of color and sparkles... body lotion /shower gel. If you do mag. you would need to pick them up the week before you leave...like US weekly or OK so they have current celeb. info. Maybe even Hair clips or headbands...simple ones that they can use all the time in brown or black. Even cross word books (they have tons at dollar tree) What about a journal with a pen or paper notebook? I guess they sill write now a days!lol What about playing cards? Beach Balls (oriental trading.com) If the resort allows floats at their pool..you have to check. My big thing with this is....we are doing a destination wedding to save $..not spend more! I did thoughtful gifts..nothing 2 $...because its the thought that counts.
  5. Congrats and Happy Planning! There are great threads with wonderful ideas!

  9. The final straw...she's prego now! She should be about 6 months at the time of the wedding. I wish her a healthy preg. and a healthy baby! But you dont know how its gonna go and if she can even fly to Mexico. I even found out she had a miscarriage at the end of aug....so I dont know why shes already prego again. I think you are supp to wait 3 months. She came out running with the prego stick in her hand yelling its positive. I almost died! I think after having a miscarriage I would def. wait 3 months before telling the whole dam family...but thats me. She had never been interested in the wedding and caused a huge problem at our engagement party. She is one of my bridesmaids (not my choice) and she didnt help them do a thing! She came 2 hours late and left early. She told my FI best friend that she doesnt understand why we are getting married so fast. BTW we are both 30 and it will be a month shy of 3 years that we have been together. She said alot of other stuff as well...at our home at our engagement party. I have tried so hard to do stuff for her because it is his little sister. Neither of us got anything last year for our bdays or christmas....well she did send my card 2 weeks after my birthday. Its the thought that counts..right ? lol I told my FI, im not jealous that she prego...its just that I dont have my mom anymore and I do seek that attention from his mom. (inside info) They treat her like the princess and their son not as good...I have seen it for myself! She got a 1600.00 LV bag and he got a 300 bracelet. They dont treat them = at all! So I guess i feel now that shes prego it will all be focused on her. I just want my day 2..like she had and everyone else. I told him if my mom were here and the majority of my family was going to the wedding I prob. wouldnt care what she does. I'm really trying to focus on the positive!!!!! But its hard!
  10. Congrats and welcome! Im getting Married April 17, 2010 at moon palace
  11. Check the weather..I didnt do it on Oct. because its Hurricane season? Im doing mine in april 2010 at moon palace. You do get a lot of free things...10 rooms booked = free cocktail and dinner reservations. 20 rooms = unlimited private functions and 4 free nights for bride and groom. I have had a lot of people who said they were going back out! Including 3 bridesmaids, & everyone seems to be getting prego and due in april as well...lol Even my sis in law (thats another story) So plan for the worse so you dont get upset Also get ready for the...Is is it safe in Mexico? The resort will send you a letter with all their security pre-cautions. But I know for sure we will have 10 rooms booked and im happy with a cocktail/reception. We want to be outside and enjoy the sea breeze instead of being in a ballroom My friends brother did his wedding at moon palace and everyone loved it! They even include top shelf liquor. The guy we are renting our tuxes from goes every year and he said the food is wonderful!!!! There are many moon palace threads on here with tons of info! Happy planning and Congrats!

  17. For my welcome letter I did it on a postcard. If you register at vista print.com they start sending you emails with free stuff. One of the emails I received was 100 free postcards ! So I picked a background with ocean/palm tree and wrote a simple message. Welcome to Cancun, Mexico! Dear Family & Friends, We are extremely pleased that you were able to travel with us to celebrate our special day. Words definitely cannot express how sincerely honored and blessed we feel that you are here. We hope that you fully enjoy your time in Paradise and the festivities that this weekend will bring. As a small token of our appreciation for your being here, please enjoy your beach bag & the goodies it contains. We hope they make your stay in Cancun just a little more fun and comfortable. Let the fun begin! Danny & JoHannah The best part of all! I paid less then $7.00!!! I think it was like $6.42

When I emailed her I was only given 2 choices for the cocktail..one was grass and the other was paved by the water. I told her high heels dont work well with grass lol So email miami and get your WC

I thought it would be good to have another dog around, because we had a schnorkie (schnauzer/yorkie hybrid) named Aristotle, who has separation anxiety….I $hit you not, the dog is depressed. But that’s a different story altogether. Anyways, we’ve had this stupid dog for like 3 months now. I’ve taken her to obedience classes, potty training class, and been to the vet 5 different times with her. SHE STILL $HITS EVERYWHERE! I take her outside, and the minute I get in, what does she do? Crap on my white carpets. I run to answer the door, and come back to the living room, and what is she doing? Eating the keys on my laptop. This morning was it for me. I came downstairs and let the dogs out of their kennels. Took Lola out first..out there for 20 minutes…..the dog won’t go. Okay, that’s fine, maybe Andy let her out before he went to work. So, I come back in and take Ari outside to pee. Get him back in, and go get a glass of water. I came back into the living room, and Lola had crapped on my dog!!! She was playing in it, and it was literally ALL OVER MY FLOOR AND WALLS! I hate this dog! Omg, I’ve always been an animal lover, but I seriously want to take this dog and drive 10 miles away from my house and leave her. I’m at my wits end. She just won’t learn. I’ve tried everything to teach this dog how to pee outside and quit eating everything, but nothing gets through. I told FI that I want the dog gone, but he’s throwing a fit about it. He doesn’t see why I wouldn’t want a dirty animal who makes my house smell like crap. He insists that if we sell her, we’ll never get the amount of money we paid for her back, and that if we got rid of her, Ari would have to go too. Hello?!?!?! Ari isn’t the one who can’t learn how to take a $hit outside like a normal dog! Ugh…..I am so irritated. Time to pull out the carpet shampooer. I have a 7 month old bull dog named Rebus. Believe it or not he stopped peeing in the house and pooping! You picked a loving dog but they are a bit stubborn. I remember coming home one night (act it was like everynight) and i lost it! There was diarreah everywhere, on the tile, in the grout, on the play pen...i curled up in a ball crying while he was trying to eat my hair! Finally we got him a kennel but one that wasnt to big for him, but we never leave him alone un- supervised! I bought him flavored nyla bones which he loves!!!As well as this rope in a bottel- which is the most stupid toy I have ever seen..but he loves it. I remember he would shit like 5 times a day - wish I could do that...lol He did have a para-site like 3 times. So that doesnt help the poop either. They are prone to so many problems that I got VPI pet insurance as well. I took him to the vet last sunday because he has little bald spots and the dr said he has mites..lol Its a type of mites that they are born with and its passed from their mom. We feed him Royal canine food because they have dog food for him when he gets bigger thats esp for bulldogs. When he does something bad we have a milk jug with coins and shake it...he is really afraid of it! If he sees it he stops and I hardly have to shake it anymore. You do have to give her a bath every week and clean her wrinkles,,,cause their mouth stinks 2...lol Have faith and she will get better! Please feel free to ask me anything
