I just heard that the DJ is not included in the $85pp (private beach reception) for four hours its $650 I think that is too much, has anyone heard of this? sounds like you cant even bring your own iPod because they don't lend systems. Any suggestions on what we should do?

I have a few questions for all the brides/couples that had the private beach reception: how was the setup for it? did you go with what was included in the per person price..or did you bring your own centrepieces etc? I would love to know how it was and the experience you had.... also, Patricia told me its only for 4 hours, did time fly how did you fit everything in to the 4 hours, eg: dancing eating speeches etc... Im so confused and think that 4hours isnt enough. Looking forward to your answers and advice.

Thanks ladies for posting all these mmmm yummy looking cakes. I have a lot to think about they are all soo beautiful good thing is I have loots of time still, however I do already have my cake topper which is a start LOL.

YAY - i got my dress on sunday... the sale was pretty bad but found it in some little store that selll soo many dresses... the least expected lol (theres alwaya a hidden gem) so i loved how it looked and bought it! I also received by cake topper I love it soo adorable. We called the resort we want to go too (Grand Sunset Princess) and its $200 to reserve the date. I found the bridesmaids dresses aswell but that I will wait closer to september/october. Have you ladies picked out your colours/themes? WOW how exciting. Have a lovely day and an awesome weekend.

Just getting together the STD's, im having them perforated with an rsvp side, that way whom ever replies that they are attending will receive a formal invite (save some money on this part). Thank goodness for this forum LOL... HELP!! Im stuck and don't know what to do im getting married in 2011 and my FI has 3 bestfriends so because he couldnt pick 2 out of the 3 to be his best man i said dont worry i can have a third MOH but heres the thing... we went out to dinner with one of his bestfriends and his wife, they asked how are the wedding plans? and i started well we are having complications because he cant pick 2 out of three bla bla bla....so we decided have u, tom and craig be the best man... oooooopsy i put my foot in it but it was an accident... when we get home my FI says to me how could have done that you ruined it for me i wanted to tell him formaly, you told them my thoughts everything..(to be honest with you I didnt realize, i thought my FI had already told him he was part of the bridal party and one the bestman, becuase we new 100% he was one of the 3)... so now my FI is all mad at me and told me i might aswell do it all myself and tell everyone who we want in bridal party. everyones advice will be greatly appreciated... thanks so much for reading. Congratulations... I won't be of much help either, but I did get this resort recommended aswell... I too would like to know abit more about it and see some pictures of a wedding on the beach... I have read good reviews about it and that it has been safe so far from the hurricanes etc and apparently the hotel lies straight across the beach. Brochures from travel agencies might have a bit more information on it. Good luck and please keep us posted Happy planning.

Congrats and welcome to the forum... im also planning our wedding for 2011 in Riviera Maya, spoke with our travel agent/destination specialist on Saturday and she suggested best to go in May as it is right after March break and before the school holidays kick off. We also found out that in Mexico they do not do weekend or public holiday weddings and must be in Mexico 3-4business days... so we leave Canada a Saturday but wont be married until the Thursday... that just means a better tan for the white dress LOL. Hi Everyone - this is so exciting, I'am planning my wedding, in 2011 not sure if June or October - in Mayan Riviera, im stuck on picking great beach colours for my bridal party, I love Coral and turquoise but not sure if that goes well, cant find any real wedding photos of Coral colour themed weddings. We are trying to keep it stylish aswell. Hope you can help. Thanks
