  11. Hey TessaB lol I've done a couple things a head of time. I booked a spa schedule as they told me their appointments fill up fast. You can email them at [email protected]. I've been talking with Paula and she is very helpful. I sent Micheal the photographer an email just requesting the price list, so I know how much money to go with. You can email him at [email protected] I've also been talking with Keisha in regards to reserving the Maumee Bay Steakhouse for dinner and the Seagrapes for a private reception. With all the confusion with the wedding coordinators, nothing ever got done with my requests, but Keisha has been great and has taken care of everything and really put my nurves at ease. That's all I've done and am going to do. Everything else will sort out when we arrive. I'm not taking any extra decorations or anything as that's to much work and we're getting married in Jamaica, the scenery is enough decoration for me! lol. As I have found this forum to be helpful, I have also found it to increase my stress. I really have stopped searching for random information or reading reviews. I was starting to worry about things that don't even matter. I'm just excited to get married and could care less about all the little details that in the end don't matter. How is your planning going?

Hi Sugarmag, Â I am also getting married at the ROR in February 2011. What date is your wedding day? Have you done any planning in advance?
  14. Hello Everyone, Â I am getting married at the Riu Ocho Rios in Jamaica on February 2, 2011. I have spent hours upon hours of searching the forums on this site reading information and reviews of ROR weddings and I feel more lost then knowledgeable. I am completely lost and confused. I thought having a destination wedding meant I could just book the wedding, forget about it until I get there and plan with the wedding coordinator upong arrival. I have been in touch with the new wedding coordinator and the only thing I have preplanned is having a private wedding reception on the beach at the Seagrapes after the semi private dinner. Â I guess I am just wondering what everyone did to plan for their wedding before they arrived at the resort? I have read some people planned what the minister was going to read, ordered flowers and their cake, all before arriving. Â In terms of the flowers, can you just order what you like when you arrive? Are the free ones nice? Is the free cake good/pretty looking or do most people upgrade? Again do you have to upgrade ahead of time or can you just decide when you get there? If your ordering from different companies off the resort, should you be communicating with them before you arrive? Does the Salon fill up fast or do they reserve spots for you on your day? Or do you have the book the spa ahead of time?? I have opted to go with the Caprice package that include hair, nails, etc, I am nervous of arriving and there being no openings for them to do my hair on my wedding day. Do you have to book the filmographer ahead of time? Â I probably have a million more question but just can't think of them now that I am writing this thread. Â Again I was hoping to just book it and forget about it until I got there, but that doesn't seem to be the case. What planning needs to be done before you arrive, and what planning gets done when you arrive? Â Thanks for your help!

    Newbie!

Hello all! My name is Tessa and I am a Bride to Be. I am very happy to be engaged to my high school sweetheart. We have been together for over 8 years and are looking forward to our special day. We've decided to get married in winter of 2011, somewhere between January and April. We are doing a destination wedding and have no clue where to start on picking the best destination to get married. So far our top contenders are Dominican Republic or somewhere in the Bahamas or Cuba. Another factor is what resort to book with as well. There are so many out there it's overwhelming. I would love if I could get some suggestions on the in's and out's of some resorts, and information on the best place to have a destination wedding. The only requirements I want are, sunny weather, white beaches, on the ocean, and good service.
