  1. Does anyone have a MS Word template for petal toss cones? I saw some neat pictures of ones with a message or the couples initials inside, but I cant seem to find a template.... Thanks!
  2. Okay! I just got the frame in the mail today, I'm nervous about the whole glue part. I read that one bride took out the third piece of glass for a bigger slot for the sand. I think that will make it heavier by a bit, but I think it will make it easier to get the sand in during the ceremony. The last piece of glass on the back is frosted and has lines across it. I thought about putting the extra piece of clear glass there so the sand is also visible from the back. I don't think you would be able to see through the sand to the back if I keep it in though, right?
  3. Bought the Umbra Ether frame in expresso from Linens n Things.com for $25 plus 2.99 shipping. I'm off to Michaels for the flora bond or glass glue! This is one of my many last minute DIY projects, I hope it turns out! Thanks ladies!
  4. Congrats! I am getting married in Puerto Vallarta in June, 2010! I've been all over this website, and there is lots on Puerto Vallarta. I am getting married at the Melia Puerto Vallarta, if you have any questions, let me know! We're probably not going to get a band, but you could also check Craigs List Puerto Vallarta and possibly connect with some US expat musicians. Good luck with your planning!

Congrats! I am getting married in PVR in June 2010 at the Melia Hotel. I think I would have picked November as a second choice month though because apparently in June baby turtles are not hatching (in November I think you could find them if you wanted to). I wanted to release them into the ocean after our ceremony. Oh well. Good luck planning!
  6. Congrats! I am getting married in PV at the Melia Hotel in June 2010. My fiance went twice to PV to do site visits, and finally picked the Melia. It fits our somewhat small budget and so far they have been super accomodating with our requests. If you have questions, let me know!
  7. I love it! Your words of frugal-wisdom are inspiration to get out there and keep searching. I am a clearance/coupon shopper myself and it's nice to know I'm not alone. Good tips!

Wow, I think Cuba sounds really neat! That is one place I hope to visit someday, when Americans are finally allowed back....
  9. welcome to the forum, good luck planning. My cousin just got married there and although I couldn't go, everyone said it was beautiful.
  10. Hi all, My name is Katherine and I am planning a June 2010 wedding together with my fi Daniel. I am from Indiana and he is from Mexico City. I would like to do a beach wedding and we are looking primarily at Puerto Vallarta (my pick b/c it's newer and flights are cheaper for US fam) or Acapulco (his pick b/c his family-friends can drive there). In Acapulco we liked the Krystal Palace Beach Club, although pricey. We like the Revolcadero Beach area, but there are few hotel options there and we worry about getting guests to the beach club and back to town if they stayed in Acapulco Center. We haven't found a nice AI hotel under $160/night. I also worry about my US guests, not intl travelers, being overwelmed by having to find food - navigate downtown on their own. Together, we have taken two trips to PV to scope out visits. Honestly we're not picky people, but I guess I have a certain idea of what I want and we're still looking for it. We were disappointed with the rooms at Occidental Allegro (old and very musty) but loved the beach and food was good. We were super disappointed with Samba Puerto Bonito (was just sold in July and renovations are on the table, plus the food/drinks were poor). We liked Marival Nuevo Vallarta (nice accomodations, restaurants seem classy- didnt eat there) but the wedding we saw there was right in the middle of the resort w/ no sense of privacy. We also visited Playa Arcos in the older side of town, but it was crowded and not right for us. Right now were are looking at renting a Palapa at a condo building in Punta Negra, PV and catering dinner, renting furniture. What we would like: semi-private / more secluded beach location for ceremony dinner with sunset views, 40-60 guests music and dancing until 11pm or later our total budget is about 10,000 before bride/groom travel costs AI hotel for our guests around $75-80p/p/n, child-friendly I'm glad to have found the site here, any helpful suggestions are welcome!
