Hey Ladies,

So when I was trying to decide early on whether or not I was going to do a BD session for my FI, I found it difficult that there wasnt a lot of pictures on the BDW forum.  So I figured I would post some of my proofs on here to give anyone who is thinking about it, the chance to see what its all about.

I had a great time doing the shoot and although it was a little nerve wracking initially, within 15 mins I had calmed down.  If I wasnt 5 weeks pregnant at the time, I would have had a few drinks before hand to take the edge off, but in the end it was great!

I am so happy with my results and even the nude pictures I did turned our great!

If you are thinking about doing this but dont think you have the guts to do it......Just do it!  It is a liberating experience and if your photographer is good, he/she will make you look beautiful.  I am not a small girl (size 14) as you will see below, and my pics turned out amazingly.....you definitely wont regret it.  And Im not even photoshopped yet! lol

CALGARY / ALBERTA BRIDES - if you are looking for a BD photographer - look up Sarah Pukin Photography - I HIGHLY recommend her.  She was fantastic and tell her Jenn sent you.

I just asked Lupita about using our own photographer and she siad it was fine.  If you are bringing one onto the resort you must pay the day pass for them as Dreamyeyez stated above.  We are using FI mother as she is a photographer and luckily we dont have to pay anything as she is already a guest at the resort.

So Glad I found this thread!!  I just found out today that I am and I am going to burst bc I can't tell anyone!!!  My FI and I agreed that we wouldnt tell anyone until I was 3 months along, but now that I am.....well I want to tell everyone and I'm only 4 weeks! LOL

So I figure if I can't tell anyone we know, I should be able to tell the ladies on my favorite forum right??

YAY!! I am soooo excited!!!! 

I will be 14 weeks on  the day we fly to Mexico and can't wait to tell everyone at the wedding reception.  I even bought little socks and put them into little gift boxes to present to our parents.  What will make it even more exciting is that they all think we have written off having children.  From the beginning of our relationship we always said that we didnt want anymore kids (I have a 7yr old from my past marriage) and once everyone got over the initial shock, they all have accepted this. 

But what they dont know, is this past May my FI changed his mind and stated that he did want a child of his own so we planned on TTC soon.  He wanted to start in August but my dress wouldnt fit if we got prego then so we started in October and low and behold I got prego.  The family is going to be EXTATIC.....bc they have all been wanting this for so long.  We have been together for four years , have our own property, are engaged, and now having a baby.  We didnt exactly go in order but its all good....lol 

So I just needed to share and want to say congrats to all the other ladies that are prego or had their babies and to the ones that are TTC, to try to relax and enjoy your time with your FI.....

Hey Ladies,

Does anyone know for sure whether or not we have to pay a day rate fee if we bring someone in to do our hair and makeup?  I was able to track down someone from MAC to do my makeup and with her fee, along with the hair stylists fee and then to have to pay what $77.00 each to bring them onto the resort....it works out to be a very expensive hair and makeup appointment.  I would like to be able to avoid this if at all possible....

I tried looking for a DIY frame and I had no luck - for over 9 months I have been looking at every store that would have a fame and never found it.

Finally I went on Etsy and found a seller that makes them and will ship to Canada.  I am not doing the traditional frame with a picture, but rather having our last name enscribed into the glass along with our names and our wedding date.  I am really looking forward to getting it.  The only down side is that its about $80 with shipping to Canada.  So if anyone is interested and having the same problems I was in finding an appropriate frame to us....you can always check out etsy.

I just used photobookcanada.com to make my guest book and just got it in the mail a couple of days ago.  It turned out amazing and I got a 30% discount plus free shipping on it as that is their promo for the month of August.  I have already made my book for BD shoot - all I have to do is add my pics now and I will be ready to go with another order shortly.  I am so happy with their product and it was here in a matter of 2 weeks from when I uploaded it to their site.

I uploaded my pics to photobookcanada.com and they stated so long as my nudity was tasteful that my book would go to print. They just dont want to see any poronography which I think is a given, but maybe not to everyone who has ever sent in photos for a book....lol

It took me about 10 hours to complete my book but that is bc I wanted it to be perfect and I added a lot of personal touches.  By doing my own book I saved over $200 on an 8x8 album so I am super happy with it!

Just finished my Guest Book - Photobook a few days ago that I did with PhotobookCanada.com.  Got a smokin deal for a 12x12 image wrapped book bc they have 30% off right now with free shipping.  It should be here any day now....can't wait to see how it turned out....if you are planning on doing one of these get on it right now before the end of August to take advantage of this deal.

It was super easy to do and I had a lot of fun doing it.  The only downfall......it probably took my 12 hours to complete it.  So a lot of hours but it will be totally worth it.  Now not only do I have a full colour guest book that all of my guests will enjoy looking at and filling out for us but it can also double as a coffee table book!

If anyone is a DIY'r I did my own Travel mugs.  I got the idea from another BDW'r who did her own mugs too.  I went to Dollarama and bought all the travel mugs that I needed (metallic kind of looking blue plastic) for $1.00 each and then had my monograms that Rebecca did from AllurementsbyRebecca and sent them to vista print to make stickers.  I placed the stickers on the cleaned travl mugs and then bought the plastic adhesive book cover from dollarama as well and put that over my stickers so that they would be water proof.  They turned out really great and my mugs only cost me $45.00 for 40 mugs completely finished.

I just had my 2nd of 3 shots of the TwinRx vaccination.  I work in the dental field so I have to have my Hep B shot anyways, but I would never take the risk of going away and not being vaccinated for that specific country.  I have seen first hand what can happen to patients that decided not to get the vaccines bc they think it wont happen to them if they are careful.  You can never be too careful when it comes to your health.  The effects from contracting Hepatitis can be horrible, even fatal.  This is not something I am willing to put my family through.  My FI and 7 yr old son are all being vaccinated for our Jan 2012 Wedding.  That is only my opinion though. 

If your not sure, maybe talk to your pharmacist or doctor.  The vaccinations are covered by some insurance plans, but if you dont have insurance, prepare to pay quite a bit for it.

So I just ordered my FI and his BM linen pants yesterday.  I didnt do the custom fit, and just ordered their size and inseam in the tropical beige linen with the satin lining.  The pants are in production today as per the email I rec'd from Studio suits...so now I just have to wait and see how they turn out..... heres to hoping they fit properly!

HELP!   Does anyone happen to have the swatches for the linen pants from Studio suits?  I just tried ordering them and including shipping they wanted to charge me almost $50.00 and that doesnt include the duty I would have to pay once it comes across the border.

So if anyone would be willing to send me the swatches, I will gladly pay for them and the shipping costs, but I figure they can just be put in a regular envelope can they not?  Or if they do not want to sell them, I will pay for shipping and return them to you.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone would be willing to do this.

Thank you for posting your review,  Its always great to read these and get ideas from each brides experience as what we should and shouldnt do.  It sounds like your wedding was fantastic and everything went so well! Congratulations and thanks for sharing!  Cant wait to see the pics!

So I was also one that would go crazy on all the OOT bag stuff but that was up until one fine day when I figured that I should probably see how many bags I am going to need to get everything down to Mexico.  Well after packing everything up I was at 8 bags ranging in size from large suitcases to large duffle bags on wheels. Now that does taken into consideration things like cake topper, programs and the odd little thing but mostly it is my OOT stuffers. However once I had 8 bags I realized that is when I had to stop.  I still have to pack for myself and FI and my son so we are probably looking at another 3 bags with our clothes and that doesnt even take care of my dress or flowers.  So a word of wisdom, start packing now to see where your at, bc the exra bag charges are going to add up really fast!!!

What I have so far for my OOT bags (for 36 people or 20 bags) :

So make sure you stop and check the bag issue before you go crazy bc it adds up really fast.  Its like they say with your wedding dress....when you found yours, don't go looking anymore.  So if you have enough stuff, stop looking otherwise there will always be something out there that you will want. Hi Ladies, Just got back from Vacay and while I was away I rec'd an email from Maria. I do apologize if this info has already been posted as I dont have the time to read the the pages I have missed but I wanted to make sure it was on here in any case. So as of May anyone wanting to be married on the beach must now pay $120 US as the government has implemented a fee to all the resorts. I am not sure why this fee wouldnt be waived or the resort pay it for us considering how much business they get from one wedding and our guests, but whatever. Maria stated that if we chose not to forgo the extra $120 US fee for the beach, we could choose to get married in one of the garden areas with no additional cost. To me I think this is a joke! Who goes to Mexico to get married in a Garden?? We go there to get married on the beach or atleast have the beautiful scenery as our backdrop, but seriously! Cash grab if you ask me. Anyways, just wanted to make sure you were all aware. Just got back from visiting family in Windsor and Ottawa this past week so I hope that I am not too late in posting this for you all......as I would hate for ppl to miss out on this one.

I bought Wet Bikini Bags for my wedding party off of AVON a while ago but figured I should probably get some more for my guests however they were no longer available.  But low and behold I am shopping at LaVie en Rose and what do I find?  Blue and white wet bikini bags for only $1.00 Each!!!!!  They are super cute and such a nice material - nothing is going to leak from these little guys.  I bought twenty of them and they had a whole lot more in boxes in the back.  They said they were clearing them out - so if you need them - call first and go and get them bc they are super cute and such a great, light wieght gift to put in the OOT bags..  I bought them when I was in Windsor, but I am assuming any LaVie en Rose will have them??

I wish you would have posted this sooner....lol.....I just purchased my flowers a couple of weeks ago and changed from what I originally wanted bc we couldnt get the dark orange callas that I wanted.  So now I have a more tropical bouquet instead.  Its still really nice, but I love yours bc that was exactly what I was looking for!  Everything looks beautiful and I wish you all the luck in selling your items!!!

Just had to tell someone that I sent out my invites today for my January 19, 2012 wedding.  I have asked for them back by July 15, 2011 and as of August 1, 2011 that will be my cut off.  I am giving Maria my numbers on August 1 and that will also allow me to be able to get all my OOT stuff together and done with plenty of time to spare.  I have made everyone aware that the cut off is July 15 andif they havent committed by then, that they unfortunately will not be able to attend.  I sent out my STD's 16 months in advance of my wedding, so I know that if they havent figured it out 5 months before the wedding, well more then likely they werent planning on coming anyways. 

Plus I hear about brides on here all the time stressing out that people still havent book and then they are scrambling at the end to get things done for their wedding.  I dont want it to be like that for me, so that is why I have done it this way.  (Also bc I have been married before and I know what the madness is like....we all think we are going to be fine and have enough time...but unless you really plan like this....well you run out of time bc it creeps up sooo fast).

So its still 8 months away but now I'm starting to get excited and its finally feeling real.  I remember being on here in 2009 and just hating it that my wedding was so far away...but its finally coming...for all of us....and I cant wait!
